00:16I am changing my hair now because I haven't done a color
00:20before.

00:23Also, I'm doing this in ode to my late grandmother.
00:25She always wanted to do something fun with her hair,
00:28whether it was, like, blue or pink,
00:30and she never got to do that,
00:31so I'm doing that in honor of her.
00:33A celebrity that I've always liked is Pink,
00:36who has rocked pink all the time,
00:38and it'll be fun to kind of look like her, too.
00:40I've always just had really long, straight, blonde hair,
00:43but back in 2016 on my study abroad program,
00:46when we crossed the equator, I shaved my entire head.
00:49It's a maritime tradition.
00:51It was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity,
00:53so I said, why not?
00:54And I learned that hair doesn't mean as much
00:58as it means to society, and why not have fun and play with it?
01:02Life is way too short.
01:03My current look makes me feel just OK.
01:06I've been super used to it, and I'm ready for a change.

01:16I specialize in color collection, also highlights,
01:20balayage, drastic change from dark hair to blonde.
01:25Today, I'm taking Liane's hair blonde highlight to pastel pink hair.
01:31You have natural, beautiful blonde hair.
01:34Honestly, I want to put it into your hands.

01:37I want to have fun with it and do something, you know, different.

01:42I'm going to fully trust the stylists and take their professional work
01:45and just let them do their work.
01:48First, I will trim her hair a little bit before I start in highlights.
01:56I foil her hair.
01:58Today, I use the Schwarzkopf Blonde Me Bleach with seven volume.
02:05I like to use a little bit gentle developer to prevent breakage.
02:13I use Brazilian blonde builder with every step since her hair was a little bit dry.
02:22I usually do more like baby lights than highlights that makes her hair look more natural.
02:31She always tie her hair.

02:35So I make sure put in the highlight from the nape, moving on to the top and to the side
02:42and front.
02:50I don't have any fears today because I feel like this is a professional stylist.
02:55It's not a box dye.
02:57I'm not doing it myself from the store.
02:59So I feel in very good hands.
03:09After I apply everything back to the back section, we let process a little bit more
03:17for her.
03:18For her, this time, we are waiting about 20 minutes.
03:25After I shampoo her hair, I will section the hair and then find the pink color.
03:30I have a couple formula for the pink, but for her, we decided to go more pastel.
03:38I did use two different shades of the pink, give it a little bit more dimension to it.
03:51Next, I will tone her hair in shampoo bowl.
03:54I will use gloss to make her hair shinier.
03:59Close up the cuticle and color lasts a little bit more longer.
04:04And then I blow dry her hair.
04:08I do dry cutting, dusting her hair, which cut off split ends without taking length off.
04:18I use Millbone Dry Texturizing Spray to each section right before curl her hair to hold

04:54I feel like I could kind of cry right now, but I'm going to keep it together.
04:59I absolutely love my hair.
05:01I don't feel like I have the words to describe how much I love my hair.
05:05My expectations were blown out of the water completely.
05:08And when I saw it for the first time, I'm just, I'm still stunned about it.
05:13I'm so happy.
05:14Working with her was definitely enjoyable.
05:18She's a happy client.
05:20Seeing the final look on her, it was amazing.
05:24And her reaction, that makes me really happy.
05:27Today, we took about four hours.
05:30I chose the color I used today because that color has a little bit more lighter shades.
05:41It definitely suits her eye color and skin tone.
05:46I am so happy that I decided to go with pink and get out of my comfort zone.
05:52I didn't know that I would like it or if I would love it.
05:56And I absolutely love it.
05:57And I'm very happy that I went for it.
06:00This new hair definitely has boosted my confidence.
06:04I'm going to have to keep away from mirrors because I might be staring at myself just a little too
06:08much.
06:09I want to maintain this look as best as I possibly can to be booking another appointment with Toro
06:15and just listening to what products I need to use to upkeep this hair as best as possible.
06:20She should come in the salon every four weeks, I would recommend.
06:29But all the pastel color is really hard to keep up.
06:34So I would recommend some products that she can use at home.
06:39Color shampoo or color treatment has a little bit of pink pigment to it.
06:45It will help keep the color.
06:47Going pastel pink is just nice connecting me to my grandma.
06:51Now that every time I can look at it, I can remember her all the time.
06:55I really want to play with this pink hair for a bit.
06:58But now I've opened the door to color and I can't wait to see what I do next.
07:03My current hair really just makes me feel alive and vibrant.
07:08Full of just energy and just a free loving spirit.
07:12And I'm so happy that I did this.
