Sometimes we get so caught up in what we need to do, what we don't have, or what went wrong during the day, that we forget to appreciate the little things that went right.

But what if you could collect those good moments and look back at them whenever you needed a reminder?

In tonight, Your Best Self, we're turning gratitude into something you can see, touch and keep one little note at a time.

00:00Your best self is brought to you by Maybelline New York.
00:10Here's a challenge that costs almost nothing.
00:13It takes a little time and could leave you with a jar full of reminders.
00:18It's called the gratitude jar.
00:20All you need is a jar, pen, and paper.
00:31Every day, write down one thing you're grateful for.
00:34It could be something big like getting a new job or just achieving a personal goal.
00:40Fold up your note, put it in a jar, and leave it there.
00:44And here's where it gets interesting.
00:46Don't read the notes right away.
00:48Let them build up.
00:50Keep adding it to your jar every day for a week, a month, or even an entire year.
00:56Then, set aside some time to open the jar and read through your notes.
01:01You might be surprised to see just how many little moments brought you joy.
01:06And on a difficult day, you can always reach into the jar and pull out a note as a reminder
01:13of something good.
01:14Now, you don't need to buy a fancy jar for this.
01:18Use an old food container, a mason jar, a box, or decorate one yourself and make it personal.
01:24You will have a collection of memories, moments, and reminders of things that made you smile.
01:30Until next time, I am Charlotte Kisto, reminding you to be your best self.
