00:07They're hoping it creates meaningful opportunities for players to compete, develop their skills, gain exposure and experience a professionally organized
00:16competitive environment.
00:17Now one of the areas that we would like to focus as an entity, two areas that come to mind
00:26that has fallen away when it comes to coaching and those two areas would be one and we will all
00:34agree when I say to you leadership continues to be a huge challenge not only for the players but across
00:44the region.
00:45The tournament will be held from August 17th to the 28th at Avidesh Samuru Park in Endeavour and will feature
00:53Under-19 teams competing in a T20 tournament.
00:56The competition will include day and night matches with six teams involved. Each team is expected to play at least
01:03five games according to organizer Shibi Raleigh.
01:06A tournament like this, I think that the intention is to have these Under-19 players get that exposure to
01:17the national set-up.
01:18He added that there was interest from quite a few players but they could not accommodate everyone for this reason.
01:24What we are happening as well is a large number of players who are interested in partaking in this tournament
01:31but not necessarily from a team.
01:34It means that the club structure, set-up needs some assistance, needs some structuring as well.
01:46We have some teams with the Under-19 coaching to manage these teams.
01:55Ali mentioned that some of the teams were put together by national Under-19 coach Ernel Ryan based on their
02:01capabilities.
02:02The initiative was welcomed by the Central Zone.
02:05And I want to begin by making the position of the Central Zone very clear.
02:10We are proud to endorse this tournament.
02:14We endorse it because what is being done here is directly aligned with the goals, aims and objectives of the
02:23Central Zone and the Central Zonal Council.
02:25The tournament is expected to be streamed live at the Avidesh Samuru Park.
