00:07Police said the operation began shortly after four this morning involving officers from the La Romaine Police Post,
00:13home invasion team and Southern Division Task Force.
00:16The exercise was targeting firearms-related offenses, robberies and home invasions within the San Fernando Police District.
00:24Acting on intelligence, officers went to the house around 5.20 this morning.
00:30Police say, upon entering the premises, they encountered a male suspect armed with a firearm.
00:35The man was allegedly instructed several times to drop the weapon, but police say he instead raised the firearm in
00:42the direction of the officers.
00:44The officers then discharge their civil firearms, striking him.
00:49While still at the premises, officers encountered a second male suspect in a bedroom.
00:54Police say he was also armed.
00:56He was reportedly given several instructions to drop the weapon, but allegedly pointed it in the directions of the officers.
01:04The officers again discharged their civil firearms, striking the second man.
01:09Both men were taken to the San Fernando General Hospital and were pronounced dead.
01:14According to police crime scene, investigators processed the scene and recovered two firearms.
01:20A Smith & Wesson 9mm pistol was found loaded with 15 rounds of ammunition and a revolver containing 5 rounds
01:28of .38 ammunition was also recovered.
01:31The identities of the two deceased men have not been released by police.
01:36Investigations are continuing.
