14:45at a time when rijiju has highlighted that home minister amit shah is now ready

15:44the dmk seems to be rather confused u-turn after u-turn on the delimitation issue.
15:50in just three days the dmk once again seems to have softened its stance on the delimitation issue.
15:56what do i mean?
15:57well there was a meeting that took place over the weekend chaired by chief minister vijay
16:02with mps and political parties to build a common front in tamir nadu against the delimitation bill.
16:08the dmk chose to boycott it after the aia dmk.
16:12now the dmk is well within its right to do that political rival and all of that.
16:16they may have felt that it's not the right messaging to be a part of that meeting.
16:20but at the same time they've said very clearly repeatedly we're not opposing delimitation,
16:25we just want it to be fair.
16:27this is what makes really this entire argument interesting.
16:31because on one hand you had udainidi stalin just a couple of days ago
16:35saying that there's no way we're changing our standard on delimitation.
16:39our standard is exactly the same.
16:40we will oppose it and there will be a statement from mk stalin very soon on this.
16:45and then today india today spoke to two mps.
16:48thirachi siva as well as a raja.
16:50both of whom maintain that we'll wait to see what really the bill looks like.
16:55what really the draft looks like.
16:56so in the last five months the dmk has changed its stand four times.
17:02we've counted, we've taken note of every statement.
17:04caught in this delimitation dilemma
17:06the dmk still appears to be figuring out exactly what its position is.
17:11and i want to run you through some of the statements that have come in just in the last three

17:15that highlight how right now the party is still not sure what exactly the stand should be.

33:22There would be a crackdown on any spread of drugs in Tamil Nadu, particularly in schools
33:28and colleges.

34:08All that's happened is this non-stop questions of DK Shiv Kumar going to Delhi, asking the
34:13high command, seeking their time, not getting it, returning back.
34:16And this is about four times that he's had to go back and forth trying to figure out what
34:20the high command's decision is.
34:22It also gives you a sense of who's calling the shots, who's taking the decisions.
34:26One question that comes up here is when will Karnataka have a woman in the cabinet?
34:32Remember over the weekend there was a video of Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi speaking
34:36about women representation?
34:38Well, guess what?
34:40In a Congress government in Karnataka, zero women are in the cabinet.
34:44There's only one birth left.
34:46Only one position left.
34:48DK Shiv Kumar says it will happen.
34:50There's no hurry whatsoever.
34:52It's not urgent.
34:54This is the messaging from DK Shiv Kumar.
34:56And all the while, even those who've just taken oath as ministers, we have no idea what
35:02the portfolio allocation is going to look like.
35:03Because even on that, DK Shiv Kumar has no say.
35:06It's the high command in Delhi.
35:32Let's take this across to our reporter on the ground, Sagair Raj is joining us from

35:37With more details on this, Sagair, any details really on the portfolio allocation or the
35:42one pending cabinet birth?
35:44What's going to happen there?
35:45Is there a decision today?
35:46Or it looks like the high command has pushed it off again?
35:50As of now, what we get to learn through our sources is that it has not been breached to the
35:55chief minister's office.
35:56And it might breach probably late in the night or early in the morning.
36:00By tomorrow, in all possibilities, the portfolio allocation will be done.
36:05And the chief minister talking to media in Delhi has categorically mentioned that they
36:10are not in a hurry for the one post to be filled.
36:13However, they are talking to the high command and the decision will be made as early as
36:18possible.
36:19And the most suspense is on the portfolio allocation, which has not been done yet even after a week
36:25of ministers taking oath in the Karnataka cabinet.
36:31Okay.
36:32Unbelievable, really, that there's been an endless delay.
36:34Sagair, we know that the Karnataka chief minister has been endlessly camping in Delhi.
36:39He's back in Bengaluru right now.
36:40But it also gives a message that right now, D.K.
36:44Shiv Kumar has no control over the decisions being taken over his own government.
36:50It is probably a fourth or fifth visit for D.K.
36:53Shiv Kumar ever since he took off as the chief minister of Karnataka.
36:57And there is no proper conclusion on the controversy over the cabinet expansion and portfolio allocation.
37:06And if you notice that, Taiman, again, as a chief minister, he visits.
37:10But at the end of the day, there are no substantial information from the high command that there will
37:20be some kind of portfolio allocation which will be done for the ministers.
37:23As I mentioned you earlier that it is more than a week now that the ministers have taken
37:29oath, but still the portfolio allocation is still pending.
37:32That number 69 days essentially of D.K.
37:37Shiv Kumar having taken oath as chief minister of Karnataka.
37:41The only question has been around who's going to be a minister, who's going to be in the cabinet.
37:46And I will highlight that he has just about 600 days as chief minister till the next election.
37:52And so far, it's only been about going to Delhi to get his government sorted.
37:58Nothing else that's really moved forward.
38:00600 days as chief minister. That's all he has now to make a difference, to work on the ground.
38:07If you think the bar for demeaning women cannot go any lower, think again.
38:14Right-wing activist T.G. Mohandas in Kerala has sparked outrage after making horrible, unfortunate,
38:22disappointing, deeply offensive remark about women protesters in Delhi.
38:27And this was during a YouTube interview. What did he say?
38:30I'm going to highlight this because I think everyone should know what this activist has really said.
38:36He allegedly referred to the protesting women as rape-loving, made a disturbing reference to gang rape,
38:43suggesting that there would be no complaints because according to him, some people supposedly welcome such violence.
38:49For these controversial remarks, Mohandas was taken into custody.
38:53But guess what? In a matter of hours, he's been granted conditional bail.
38:57And that really begs the question, what further incendiary comment needs to be made for stricter action?
39:03Was this not bad enough to warrant stronger action?
39:07But beyond the legal question, there's a far more disturbing question.
39:10What kind of mindset actually allows one to speak in this manner?
39:14As though rape is a joke, as though it's a political weapon or something women could somehow welcome,
39:20and to give it a political colour.
39:22Suggesting essentially that women who hold a particular political position or have a certain political colour,
39:28certain political leaning, somehow enjoy rape has to be among the most wild and despicable comments one can make.
39:35And I will remind you, there's been no apology whatsoever.
39:43Okay, let's move on and talk about the student protests that we've been seeing across the country.
39:49You see what happened in Delhi.
39:50We've seen protests in Jharkhand, we've seen protests in Jaipur.
39:53In Keralam too, for the last many days, there have been protests by lower primary school teacher rank holders,
40:01who are demanding appointments from the 2025 rank list.
40:05There's in fact even an indefinite hunger strike that's underway by the association secretary.
40:11Will the Keralam government listen to the aggrieved protesters?
40:14So far, there's been no breakthrough.

44:51And this was led by Chief Minister Revant Reddy and his wife.
44:55There were over a hundred priests who had all gathered at this particular area.
45:00And they were seen chanting, slokas chanting, in fact, some of the Vedas seeking.
45:06God's intervention to ensure more rains for Telangana.
45:11Those are the images on your screens of the Telangana chief minister himself being a part of this kind of
45:17a puja.
45:18Taking part in the haven as well for rain, seeking rain.
45:23This is a yajna ritual that was held because of rain deficit in Telangana in the Nagarjuna Sagar Dam.
45:28You see their chief minister, Revant Reddy, and his wife taking part in this puja.
45:33It's led to quite a bit of controversy as, in fact, some of the opposition parties have questioned if this
45:39is what Revant Reddy's plan is.
45:41To tackle the lack of rainfall and to help farmers to turn to the gods and seek their intervention, essentially.
45:48So we'll track all the reactions that come in on this.
45:51We are seeing, unfortunately, a situation not just at Telangana, but across the south of a very, very weak monsoon.
