00:24I'm tired of these little bees that are very annoying.
00:27They're like gnats.
00:28But we got ourselves a job to do.
00:31We saw practice number nine.
00:33Practice tomorrow.
00:34You're leaving tonight.
00:35So we need everything that you've seen so far about John Harbaugh's New York Giants.
00:42And we'll start with the offense.
00:44That's where you got to start, right?
00:45It was the best day by far.
00:46It hasn't been a good camp for the offense.
00:48Today was the best day for the offense.
00:50Ball barely hit the ground from the one or the two quarterback.
00:53Jackson Dart, they threw a lot of blitzes at him.
00:56Not the same blitz.
00:57It looked like a different blitz every time.
00:59Jackson Dart got them in good place.
01:01Got a lot of checkdowns.
01:03Moved the ball.
01:04Found the right receiver.
01:06Wasn't the last first couple days, it was like if something broke down, he just took off and ran.
01:10That's not what they want him to do.
01:11They want him to find the quick pass.
01:14Find the quick hitter.
01:15He did that.
01:16And then they drove the field for a touchdown.
01:17Coolest part of the day, Brandon, by far.
01:19I'm sure you noticed.
01:20They got down to the three-yard line and Harbaugh pulled off the first-team offense.
01:24The first-team offense fought to stay on the field.
01:27They're like, one more play.
01:28One more.
01:30They called a timeout.
01:31They ran the play.
01:32And Darryl Slayton called a touchdown.
01:34Nice grab in the end zone for him as well.
01:36When you say the offense hasn't looked as good or up to speed, what do you mean by that?
01:42Because I'm kind of looking at something different.
01:44I see a lot of situations within situational football that John Harbaugh is throwing at them.
01:49We see a lot of scripted plays.
01:51So when you say that, let's talk about that.
01:53I don't have the number, but Darryl's throwing a lot of interceptions the first couple days.
01:57Or first week, really.
01:59He's throwing a lot of interceptions.
02:00And look, they're trying different things.
02:02Those plays he throws picks, they might not be in the playbook in the fall.
02:05But right now, he's throwing a lot of interceptions.
02:09They do a drive-the-field period almost every day.
02:11They rarely get in the end zone.
02:13They got in the end zone today.
02:14I think that's why it was important.
02:15So I think those guys.
02:17And the penalties, Brandon.
02:18They've had a ton of pre-snap penalties.
02:21The penalties on the offense.
02:23So I think that has really been cut down.
02:26That's been cut down a lot throughout from the course of the first week.
02:30And the first day of pads, which was in the rain.
02:33It was, you know, you're throwing everything at these guys.
02:37Guys were getting jumpy because it's the first day of pads.
02:39But you have seen that cut down.
02:41Let's talk about some positives.
02:42Who has stood out for you?
02:44Give us some names on who has stood out to you the most throughout the course of this 10 days
02:49so far on the offense.
02:51Calvin Austin?
02:51Yeah.
02:52In the right spot all the time.
02:54This is just a total security blanket.
02:56Very shifty.
02:56Almost like Wandale Robinson for a lot less of the price.
03:02Greg Newsome has stood out in that he...

03:12Newsome, I would say...
03:15Odell.

03:16Odell had those two monster practices.
03:19He didn't do much today, but he had the two monster practices back-to-back.
03:24Isaiah Likely.
03:25That's where I should have started, dude.
03:26He is the number one.
03:27He is, without Malik Neighbors on the field, he is Jackson Dart's number one playmaking receiver.
03:33Austin might be the check down, I'm in a panic, where is he kind of thing.
03:37But when they need a play, they go to Isaiah Likely.
03:40I like Jalen Hyde.
03:41I think he's put together some pretty good days.
03:43He's going to be anxious.
03:44I'm anxious to see what he does on the special teams.
03:46He's going to have to make the team on the special teams.
03:48But he is catching the football, catching the football well.
03:51Tanner Connor fighting for a tight end spot.
03:54He seems like a guy that's catching the football very well.
03:58And I even said that he may can push for that tight end two position.
04:02But that may be a little bit too much.
04:04But, you know, Theo is making, he has been making plays.
04:07So I'm going to keep an eye on that if Tanner Connor can kind of crack his way or find
04:11a way to get up into this lineup.
04:13They'll keep four tight ends.
04:14Manhurts is the blocking guy.
04:16So who's the third guy?
04:17Is it Tanner Hudson?
04:20Tanner Connor.
04:21Tanner Hudson was here a couple years ago.
04:23Is it Tanner Connor?
04:24Is it Thomas Fedoni?
04:25I think the first two are set and they're both going to play it.
04:27Right now I would put Connor over Fedoni right now just by the volume of catches and plays that he's
04:33been able to make.
04:34Lastly, as we get off the offense, Malik Neighbors, we saw him for the first practice.
04:39We saw that first practice, him get out there, him move around.
04:42Everyone was surprised that he looked so good.
04:44Now today, again, jumping, landing.
04:48He looks very athletic.
04:50Where do you put Malik Neighbors right now, day what, day 10?
04:54I want to see him in 11-on-11 or 7-on-7.
04:57I want to see him do – I want to see him – I get it.
05:00There's a plan.
05:00Training camp is long.
05:02But I've seen him now do the same kind of things for not long enough this whole training camp.
05:06I think he took only one day off where I want to see what's next.
05:11I want to see him in the 7-on-7s.
05:12I want to see him in the 11-on-11s.
05:13Put a red jersey on him if you need to.
05:15But I want to see him move around through other bodies.
05:17All right, let's flip over to the defensive side of the ball.
05:20Our defense always starts off training camp faster or ahead than the offense.
05:27Easier to put in cover one, cover two, cover three, and play variations from that.
05:31But defense has been ramping it up.
05:33And let's start with the run defense.
05:35What are your thoughts, since the pads have come on, about the Giants' run defense so far?
05:41I think it's been better than the Giants' run offense.
05:43I think they've won the head-to-head battles starting with the first day.
05:46And then today, the Giants couldn't run the ball.
05:48I mean, it was a good thing the ball wasn't hitting the ground from the passers
05:50because there were no running lanes today.
05:52Cam Scadaboo actually went down today, got injured.
05:56Harbaugh thinks that he's okay.
05:58Schmitz got injured too.
05:59Burns rolled over.
06:01Harbaugh seems to think the Burns and Scadaboo are okay.
06:03But it sounded like Schmitz could be headed towards the concussion protocol.
06:08But back to your question, run defense, I think there's going to be a story on that
06:13in the post on Saturday.
06:15I think somehow the Giants had a historically bad rushing defense last year,
06:21the worst in the NFL since 2014,
06:25and took away an all-pro defensive tackle from that group
06:28and might actually be better in the cliche of the sum of the whole team.
06:34By committee, by committee.
06:36Yeah, run defense by committee.
06:37Brandon Harris, a better Darius Alexander.
06:40Reeder's a load out there.
06:41Looks really good.
06:41Edmonds and Reese are hitting the holes.
06:43They might actually be better because of the sum of the parts as a run defense.
06:47All right, let's go to the secondary because everyone's talking about,
06:50oh, the rotation that Denard Wilson's doing with his corners.
06:54Taye Banks taking one reps, pausing the D-bow with the twos.
06:56Greg Newsom moves into the slot today into that nickel
07:00because Drew Phillips will be out for a little bit.
07:04Colton Hood looks like he's coming along.
07:06He looks physical in the run game.
07:08That's the word I would use.
07:09Who are you?
07:10What do you think of the secondary right now compared to where it was last year?
07:16I think it's where you're seeing a meritocracy.
07:18That's one of John Harbaugh's buzzwords.
07:20And it's like, where are you seeing it?
07:22You're seeing it in the secondary because Deontay Banks got a clean slate.
07:27If anybody else was here, Deontay Banks would be buried on the depth chart
07:30because of all the old baggage.
07:32He's playing well in camp.
07:34Okay, you get first team reps.
07:35Paulson Adibo has the $45 million contract.
07:39The last staff would have left him as the number one corner
07:42because he has the contract.
07:47But he's taken some ones.
07:50He's taken some twos.
07:51He's not just being handed the job based on his contract.
07:54I like it.
07:55Absolutely love it.
07:56Lastly, final thoughts.
