00:00Flash flooding returns to the northeast and mid-Atlantic Thursday into Friday.
00:04It's already been a wet week.
00:06Heavy rain drenched the east coast on Monday, producing flooding in New York City and also across parts of New
00:13Jersey.
00:14As we get into Thursday and Friday, all the ingredients come together.
00:18First of all, steamy air comes northward back into the mid-Atlantic and northeast,
00:24and that dip in the jet stream adds energy into the equation.
00:27And we'll see numerous showers and thunderstorms first push across the Midwest
00:33and then slowly make their way eastward as we get in the Thursday and Friday.
00:39The rain will be heavy enough for flash flooding and there will be major travel delays.
00:44That's the bad news.
00:45There is some good news, however.
00:48Much of the east coast remains mired in a drought,
00:51and certainly while this rain will cause short-term problems with travel delays and flash flooding,
00:58it will continue to whittle away at the drought in the long term.
01:02There is some good news, but we'll see you next time.
01:03There is some good news, but there is some good news.
