We chat to Felix from The Maccabees at Reading '07 about the best gig they've played and swearing too much on video.
Transcript
00:00Hello, I'm Felix from the Maccabees and we're at Reading Festival. We just played on that stage and it was
00:08fucking, oh no, I'm not going to say fucking because on the last thing we did, where was it? Was
00:16it at Glastonbury? No, I swore much too much so I'm going to try and keep it down on this
00:20because I'm going to play it back to me.
00:21But we, yeah, it was the best gig we ever played. The crowd were unbelievable. It was a beautiful thing.
00:29Yeah, we've got to go and do some little gig and question. They make us sit on these five stalls
00:34like we're in Westlife sort of thing, like stand up for the key change, for the question and answers. So
00:39that's all very uncomfortable but once we've done that, we're off to see Jamie T and have a good night.
00:44Well, we're writing a record. So hopefully it's going to be done by the end of the year. Well, Lando's
00:49trying to sing like Roy Orbison, which is a good thing, he can do it. And we're trying to play
00:56like the Pixies, I suppose. So it's going to be Roy Orbison fronting the Pixies and that sounds like a
01:02good band to me.
01:04There's so much praise going for a band. Well, I don't know, I suppose it's just quite nice that it
01:09feels like we've done it ourselves, you know, we haven't had too much like gigantic hype anywhere and stuff like
01:14that.
01:14So all the gigs always seem like a real genuine response, you know, people have actually found out about it
01:20themselves and, you know what I mean, and really in love with it.
01:22And that's the kind of response you want people to have to your band. So I'm very glad that we
01:26have the fans we do.
