00:03I'm Graham. I'm Sebastian. I'm Gilbert. We're Crystal Fires.
00:07When we started out, we met Graham. Gilbert and I have been friends for a long time.
00:12We met Graham a few years ago, started making music, really got on well, making all sorts of different genres.
00:18And then one of our good friends, Laura, brought back a book from the Basque Country,
00:23which her grandfather sort of started writing just before he died.
00:26And it's a sort of unfinished opera poetical piece, which we got really interested by.
00:34And she was obsessed by it. And we started making sort of Basque melodies, Basque beats that we thought went
00:40well with his bits of libretto writing.
00:44And we then got interested in Basque music generally, Basque culture, Basque history, and started delving into all that.
00:53And now, a couple of years later, we've got like an album nearly finished.
00:57But yeah, the initial stage was just like jamming.
01:00It was a really good sort of starting point for us.
01:03And like we've tried to, you know, tape whatever we could that's good from Basque culture, Basque music,
01:08and try and bring it, you know, combine it with newer sounding stuff to try and create something, I know,
01:12a bit different,
01:13that combines the old and the new.
01:15Our first single, which was out on Kitsune Records last year, sort of middle of last year,
01:21is called Ecstatic Truth.
01:23And it's a sort of fast, percussive, slightly folk, trancey, euphoric building banger with indie tendencies.
