The new U.S. Chargé d'Affaires to this country says that "the United States and Trinidad and Tobago are close partners, bound by a shared commitment to security and justice."

The top diplomat discussed issues of mutual interest between this country and the U.S. in his meeting with this country's Attorney General yesterday and the Acting Foreign Minister today.

00:13And the day after he met with the second highest office holder in the Cabinet, Mr. Kern, in a statement,

00:20It was a pleasure meeting with Attorney General John Jeremy. Our conversation reaffirmed what I have seen time and again.

00:35safer Caribbean.
00:38The Attorney General's office said the U.S. diplomat's meeting with the Attorney General on Monday was centered around ongoing
00:45collaboration related to regional security and stability.
00:49The AG's office said Mr. Kern recognized the long-standing relationship between both countries and reaffirmed the United States' commitment
00:57to working closely with the government of Trinidad and Tobago to address shared security threats.

01:11efforts that enhance regional security, strengthen justice systems, and promote a safer and more resilient Caribbean.
