00:00The future is fully digital and so is democracy. Rose IT Services Limited launched its iVoteLive platform today, presenting the
00:11system as a modern solution to voting processes.
00:15Let us say that you are belonging to an organization that has a main election where everybody is voting for
00:22the same categories that you just voted for. President, vice president, a board. But then you are also a member
00:30of, you also have to vote for a Tobago Council election.
00:34How it was handled in the past is that you would have one election for the main election. And after
00:40you have finished that election, then you would do a separate election for the Tobago election.
00:45Right. Now, by virtue of having the way we build iVoteLive, the ability to have concurrent elections, it means that
00:54all you need to do as a validated member to vote in that Tobago Council elections is that you have
01:00issued a separate credential that is going to take you to the election.
01:04The iVoteLive system also addresses common challenges presented by traditional methods of voting, such as issues with tabulation.
01:14I think one of the biggest, biggest features of iVoteLive is instantaneous results.
01:21So if this election for within a meeting is as long as the returning officer says that the election has
01:28been closed, you've captured everyone's ballot, or in another type of elections, if the elections is carded to end at
01:35six, as soon as this election is declared closed, everything has already been tabulated,
01:42and the results can just be downloaded and sent to the relevant parties. So really, within five minutes of elections
01:50closing, you will have a verified result.
01:56Founder and CEO Omar Romero explains that transparency is paramount in the iVoteLive process.
02:05That's why we built into the system as well a full audit report, and what that audit report captures, once
02:12an election is completed, is just three things.
02:16The name of the person who voted, the ID that they were given, and the exact time that they cast
02:23their vote.
02:24So if there are any sort of disputes or contention, you do have a report that gives those details.
02:35The system had been developed over a number of years for various private sector organization elections, including in the credit
02:44union sector.
02:45However, its founder notes, the system has many applications.
02:50What about if you're having kings and queens or panorama, right?
02:57What we are accustomed to is that there are a panel of judges sitting down making that decision, but what
03:02if you wanted to open that up to everybody?
03:05All of us sitting in the north stand and the grand stand, all of us have our opinions, we like
03:10what we hear, some like the spurs, some like exodus, some like all the stars.
03:14What if you wanted to capture what everybody thought to get a good crowd, audience, opinion, and a naked validator
03:25and say, yes, this is what everybody liked?
03:27And we successfully ran a people's choice for the roadmatch last year, where upwards of 400 people voted for what
03:35they felt should be the roadmatch.
03:37The developers are giving the assurance that the system is well encrypted and in full adherence with cybersecurity compliance obligations.
