National Trust volunteers say they've been warned not to speak to the media after the ABC reported on long-running disputes inside the organisation. But the gag doesn't extend to an inquiry into those issues being conducted by the state parliament.

00:32Volunteers here in Renmark aren't the only ones who've received communication about the media policy.
00:37A reminder's also been sent to the Millicent branch in the state's south-east.
00:42But that policy doesn't extend to a parliamentary inquiry into the organisation that began this week.
00:48The National Trust says its policy outlining expectations on public commentary is long-standing.
00:54It's also committed to cooperate with the inquiry.
00:58I feel so strongly about speaking up that we can't just sit back and get trodden on.
