00:00One day, American soccer will get into that position
00:03and be in that room where they'll be considered
00:07a mainstream sport in this country.
00:10Every four years, we're in this talk again.
00:14When will America be on the same page?
00:18Is it this year?
00:20There's a lot of excitement built up around this team,
00:23but I think there's still a lot of naysayers about this team.
00:27You know, the path has been carved out pretty easily right now
00:31for Team USA.
00:33They're going to get a shot to maybe get to the Elite Eight
00:37or maybe even to a Final Four, which would be an enormous win
00:42for American soccer in this country.
00:45I root for content.
00:47I root for sports getting better.
00:50I root for being able to watch more stuff on TV.
00:53I want to see American soccer become a mainstream sport.
00:58I want to see them have the opportunity to be in line with the NFL.
01:02The NFL in this country, get this, the NFL is not a world sport.
01:07It is just not a world sport.
01:10It's confined with card rails of the American borders.
01:13Outside of America, Tom Brady's not known well.
01:17Cristiano Ronaldo and Messi are legends.
01:21These people are the biggest athletes in conversation with Ali.
01:27You could drop Messi in any place on the planet,
01:31and people would know who Messi is.
01:34You could drop Cristiano Ronaldo anywhere in the world,
01:37and people would know who he is.
01:39You couldn't do that with Tom Brady.
01:42You know, the Americans and the NFL wants to expand their flag
01:47by playing football over in Europe.
01:49Hey, dude, nobody cares in Europe about NFL football and American football.
01:54They only care about soccer.
01:56I find it unbelievable that as big as this sport is,
02:00we have no footing and no place in it yet,
02:04and we haven't had it in over 106 years.
02:07And now maybe this is an opportunity for them to be able to go forward
02:13and do something and maybe make a statement in this tournament.
02:17I think it's been awesome.
02:19Every city from Kansas City to Seattle to Philadelphia
02:24and all the places we see in Boston.
02:27It meant life down in Hard Rock today.
02:31It's great to see how people are filling these buildings up
02:35and maybe getting galvanized
02:37and maybe getting energized about American soccer.
02:41Look, it's been an exhausting conversation for 50 years.
02:4750 years.
02:48It's about time.
