00:00This draft class is so exciting, but you did have three point guards that you had to figure out how
00:07to rank.
00:07And I ended up, Coach, maybe Coward's Way Out, I actually ended up putting them all in the same tier.
00:12Now, if you said, hey, I want your order, I would have actually gone Brown, Fleming's, Acuff.
00:21Acuff is maybe the player in this class I spent the most time thinking about.
00:26And even if I just told you I would have ranked them in that order with Acuff third, if I
00:31were Sacramento and they were all on the clock, I still would have taken Acuff.
00:35It's a very interesting dynamic, and the idea is, can he be Damian Lillard and Mikkel?
00:41There's a lot of fit stuff here that's all very, very interesting, Coach.
00:45So tell me, in the same way we just started with the top three, of these point guards, Mikkel Brown
00:50Jr. to Brooklyn,
00:51Darius Acuff Jr. to Sacramento, Kingston Flemings to Atlanta, and I'll give you the, you know, positively or negatively, which
01:00pick are you most interested in?
01:02Well, to me, it's Acuff, because his scoring acumen is ridiculous.
01:09And I think when people talk about Lillard, like, Lillard can't finish at the rim like Acuff can, respectfully.
01:16And I'm not saying that in a wrong way to disrespect Damian Lillard.
01:20And I thought, for a team like Brooklyn, I thought that they were going to go Acuff.
01:26That was a lot what we heard around here, and because of the playmaking, and the small guard,
01:31and seeing the guy across the East River as a small guard playing.
01:35And let's be honest, Acuff and Jalen Brunson are two completely different players,
01:39even though Brunson is very good at finishing at the rim.
01:41He has nowhere to explosiveness and athleticism as Acuff has.
01:45But I had Randolph Childress on my show a couple of days ago, and Randolph made a great point.
01:52He thought that Brown was the better guy to take.
01:57He thought that the ending of the year of Brown, and how he looked, and he played hurt,
02:04he thought that that was the fit.
02:06If you really peel back and look at how he played at the end of the year of Louisville,
02:09he was absolutely dynamic.
02:11I don't know if you could swing and miss any of the three.
02:16Now, with Atlanta, it's interesting with Flemings, because when you think about Kingston,
02:24you talked about, we talked about, both of us did,
02:27is his propensity to not shoot the ball maybe enough from three.
02:32And if that is a concern.
02:34But one thing about it is, oh my God, can that kid defend.
02:39So you come out of that program, and now you have points in the game, Kevin,
02:43and Leighton games, you can go Flemings, Dyson, Daniels,
02:47and you can lock up two premier guards right there, or at least slow them down.
02:52So it's interesting, because when you look at the draft, you're right.
02:57The top three guys, they're going to be measured against each other for the rest of their careers.
03:01Yeah.
03:02Four or five with Wilson and Wagler, those two.
03:06But that means three point guards are going to be judged for the rest of their careers
03:13based on how they perform, but more importantly, how do their teams perform?
03:19So I, like I said, I had them kind of on the same tier.
03:23Mikel Brown was the one I considered putting up a tier.
03:25The back stuff is a little weird, and it didn't give us the sample size we wanted.
03:32There was a five-game stretch in ACC play, though, where Mikel Brown Jr. averaged 29 points per game
03:39on 52-54-100 shooting splits, and I think he's the best passer of the bunch.
03:48I'm very excited about Mikel Brown Jr.
03:53Now, Brooklyn, I didn't even really take the victory lap outside of texting with Coach,
03:59and we both, like, just the stupidity of that draft class last year.
04:03Like, I mean, the amount of people who have a bookmarked tweet of me bashing the Igor Demond,
04:08you can unbookmark it, guys.
04:09You're not going to get me, okay?
04:11You can unbookmark it.
04:12It was an awful, obvious decision because that team drafted 100 point guards last year
04:17and then came on the board at six and took another point guard.
04:19Like, they couldn't even – I think they could have taken Braden Burry's.
04:23I'm like, no, Braden Burry's a two-guard, can guard it, can shoot it,
04:26can get to the ten a little bit.
04:28They were like, no, no, no, no, we need a point guard.
04:29We have no one that can run the show here in Brooklyn right now.
04:34It gives you an idea of that situation.
