00:00White Sox, you know, kind of hanging around,
00:02hoping they can make a push for the postseason.
00:04I don't think it's happening for the Orioles.
00:06They had another tough week.
00:08Burke and Baz on Monday, Fetty, Gibson, Tuesday,
00:11Schultz and Rodgers on Wednesday.
00:15You know, look, there's a lot of jobs on the line,
00:16I would think, in Baltimore too, Tom,
00:18based on the season that they're having,
00:19and they're going to have to keep fighting.
00:21But it does seem like every time the Orioles win a series,
00:24like two out of three, they end up losing three or four in a row.
00:27They just can't get on any kind of run.
00:29I look at this matchup of where the teams are.
00:32Like, you know, we've talked about before,
00:33the AL Central is wide open for the White Sox.
00:36The Orioles are, you know, trying to push towards an AL wild card.
00:40Both teams need two out of three in this series.
00:42That's what it comes down to.
00:43You can't be saying, oh, we're actually going to compete
00:45for giving things, winning the division or making a wild card.
00:48If the Orioles are a team that can't make the wild card,
00:50they can't be losing two out of three for the White Sox.
00:53And if the White Sox are going to compete in a wide open AL Central,
00:55they can't be losing two out of three to a scuffling Orioles team.
00:58So both teams need two out of three.
01:00I think it's going to really come down to the last game
01:02between Noah Schultz, one of the young pitchers for the White Sox,
01:05and Troy Rogers, who really hasn't been great overall this season
01:08for the Orioles.
01:11Nationals take on the Red Sox.
01:12Nationals may be putting the Red Sox out of their misery next week.
01:15We'll see.
01:16But the Red Sox, man, if they had a hard time scoring runs,
01:19it feels like every night it's one or two or three even at the max.
01:22It's not like they don't have the pitching.
01:24Ranger Suarez will pitch against Michaelis.
01:26You know, the Red Sox will still be favored in that one.
01:29Cavalli versus early in game two.
01:30Irvin versus Toley in game three.
01:33But the Nats are clearly the better team of the two this season
01:36as everyone still waits for the Red Sox offense to catch fire,
01:40and it never does.
01:41I don't know how many times we've been able to say that the Nationals
01:45are the better team compared to the Red Sox, but that's where we are.
01:48It's as simple as this.
01:49If the Red Sox can't get their offense going against a pitching staff,
01:53which we highlighted in the beginning about the Nationals,
01:56where their bullpen is so bad, you've got to shut it down.
01:59You've got to shut it down.
01:59You've got to sell off any pieces that you possibly can if you're the Red Sox.
02:02If you are struggling to score runs at home in a great hitter's park with,
02:07I would say, presumably great weather all three days in the summer
02:10against the Nationals pitching staff and bullpen,
02:13if you can't score three, four, five runs a game,
02:15sell off all the players because it is completely lost.
02:18It's already a completely lost season, but man.
