00:10And they're starting pitching, as you know, Tom, has not been as good as they would have thought.
00:14But that would be the dynamic for Toronto.
00:17They've not had the season that they wanted to.
00:19But this does follow the trend, Tom, in recent years.
00:21The team that loses the World Series tends to take a step back.
00:24That's what's happened for Toronto this year.
00:26You certainly have a slow start for them.
00:28Their offense just simply isn't there.
00:30But, you know, the pitching is really the issue.
00:32You know, Shane Bieber just came back.
00:34How much can they get out of him?
00:35Scherzer's been on and off the IL.
00:38Jose Barrios isn't pitching at all this year.
00:40So they have a lot to figure out.
00:42And you can't just rely on Gossman, who hasn't looked like the Gossman of all.
00:45You know, you only can trust Treyas Savage so much.
00:48He can't be pitching every game.
00:50So they need some help.
00:51It really just comes down to what they're going to be able to get,
00:54because there's not too many quality starting pitchers.
00:56I think what comes to mind would maybe be some of the options from Kansas City,
01:00if they can get someone like Michael Walker that can eat some innings
01:02and really just stabilize their rotation until Scherzer and Bieber can get back up to speed.
01:08The Twins didn't really do anything in the offseason that would have indicated a rebuild.
01:13But now it seems like maybe they're interested in doing that, Tom.
01:17Joe Ryan, who was talked about in the offseason, they kept him.
01:21Ryan Jeffers, they ended up keeping him.
01:23And then, you know, Pablo Lopez was supposed to start for them opening day.
01:26He got hurt, too.
01:27So I'm not really sure what direction, honestly, Tom, the Twins are headed,
01:31because I would have figured that this is what they would have done this offseason.
01:34They fired their manager.
01:35It felt like there was a step back coming.
01:37And then their April was actually okay, if you look at their record.
01:40But now it feels like they're headed in the other direction.
01:43But what could the Twins possibly expect would have happened this year?
01:48I was very low on the Twins coming into the season.
01:51It was a middling roster beginning with them.
01:53You've got to remember, last trade deadline, they traded away.
01:55It was 11, 12 different players and got rid of all of them.
01:58They were clearly selling there.
01:59They didn't do much to improve the roster in the offseason.
02:02And then they didn't trade away the best options that they, you know,
02:05could have gotten the most return for.
02:07You should absolutely be looking to move Joe Ryan.
02:08You can get something significant back from him.
02:10And Ryan Jeffers could absolutely improve another contender as well.
02:13So you might as well get something back from them right now,
02:16which is in what is ultimately a very open AL Central.
02:20But they're just not the team that's going to be able to compete.
02:24Tariq Skubal will be the biggest name, and he will be traded.
02:26I don't think there's any question about that.
02:28The Tigers would be malpracticed if they didn't make this move.
02:31They have to.
02:32And just hope that they could get him back in the future.
02:34It's probably not likely.
02:36I don't know, Tom, where he's going to end up.
02:38And I don't think that we have any clear picture.
02:40The Braves are a name that's being discussed.
02:42They had a tough week, lost a bunch in a row before they got right.
02:46I could see that, Tom, but I could also see another team stepping in and getting it done too.
02:51Yeah, it really just comes down to the prospect that the Tigers want back.
02:55They, you know, put some verbiage out there of what type of players they want back.
02:58And it's going to be the best package they can get as we get closer to the deadline.
