00:04famine is silently unfolding in the Strip.
00:07UN-backed Integrated Food Security Phase Classification, or IPC,
00:12warns of a worsening crisis amid restricted aid access and rising hunger-related deaths.
00:17Dr. Fauzia Mohamad Hassan, with her extensive on-ground experience,
00:22describes the rapidly deteriorating conditions in Gaza.
00:25We see every day, every moment, these skeletonized pictures or images of babies
00:37or living babies with just skeleton and with bulging stomach, women, elderly, daily.
00:48And that really paints and brings tears to many, many of our people
00:54who still have some humanity in their hearts.
00:58And when I speak to some of my friends, they actually told me and they showed me
01:03the pictures of them and their children wasting away.
01:09Many has reported that they have lost 30, 40 kg.
01:14So, UNICEF, according to UNICEF, 70,000 children under 5 and 17,000 pregnant women
01:26and breastfeeding need or require treatment for their malnutrition.
01:33And in July last month alone, 20,000 children were hospitalized in the hospital
01:39for the treatment of starvation and malnutrition.
01:44But you know, the hospitals in Gaza is barely functioning with barely medication
01:50because all the stores are depleted.
01:54You see in Sydney, from the south and from the north, you name any cities, big cities in Norway,
02:03in the UK, in France, in Germany, they are all demonstrating, expressing their anger
02:11about this starvation that is happening in Gaza.
02:14So, some countries maybe wants to dampen the anger, they start airdropping.
02:22Airdropping is not a safe method of delivering aid.
02:26And we know there are some people already dead, being hit by the parcel that is being airdropped.
02:35And it is expensive.
02:38And it is inadequate.
02:41So, what a waste resource, resources that we have.
02:47It is very easy.
02:49Just open the border.
02:51And we know many kilometers, thousands of trucks has been waiting outside the border.
03:00Many, many months carrying the aid that is basically needed.
