00:02Good evening, viewers. Big news coming in on a special edition of the news track.
00:06There's finally some breakthrough on day 25 of the Jharkhand student protest.
00:11And let's quickly take you to key developments.
00:13Development number one is that Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren has announced that exams conducted by the TDPL,
00:19remember the contentious examining body in Jharkhand, they've all been cancelled.
00:24That's right. The JSSC CGL exam has been scrapped.
00:28And as you can see on your screens, that has resulted in students already starting to celebrate
00:33because this, remember, was one of their key demands for which they were protesting on the streets of Ranchi for
00:40the past three and a half weeks.
00:41However, the other demand is of a CBI probe. Now, that is yet to be agreed upon.
00:46The state government has formed an inquiry panel, a CID probe, which is, of course, remember, monitored by the state
00:53government to look into this probe.
00:55This panel will be headed by a retired judge here.
00:59Now, after the victory of the students in Jharkhand, student leader Devinder Mato has said that he will end his
01:05hunger strike,
01:05which, remember, has been going on for almost as long as the protest in Jharkhand to begin with.
01:11And as you can see on your screens right now, Mato has been celebrating this victory with the Indian flag.
01:16So big news coming in at this point. All exams that were conducted from the contentious examining authority called the
01:23TDPL that has been scrapped.
01:25And the key exams that have been scrapped is the JSSC CGL. And also that has been scrapped is also
01:34the key demand, however, of a CBI probe that is yet to be accepted here.
01:38We understand that a state-monitored CID probe has been set up. It has set up an inquiry panel, which
01:45will be headed by a retired judge.
01:47So let us put things in perspective. What were these students protesting for the past 24 days?
01:52They wanted the following two exams to be scrapped because they had claimed that these exams were conducted with a
02:02lot of irregularities by the TDPL.
02:04Now, the two exams that we are talking about, which have been scrapped, one is, of course, the Jharkhand Public
02:10Service Commission, the 14th JPS.
02:14Okay, let me quickly go across to Irfan Ansari, Jharkhand Minister, joining us on the phone line at this point.
02:19Thank you very much for talking to India today.
02:21First of all, can we tell you what the names have been taken from the Heman Sorrent government?
02:26And the most important thing is that the citizens have accepted the demands, are they accepted the demands?
02:32And they are ready for their actions to break their hands?
