00:00If you have been sweating it out in the south, unfortunately, we've got a long road to go.
00:06This heat wave is going to hold on.
00:07In fact, it will actually escalate a bit into Sunday and Monday.
00:11So we are dealing with many areas dabbling within a few degrees of record highs,
00:16but it's just downright hot out there.
00:17There will be some scattered storms over the next few days here and there,
00:20most of them in Georgia, parts of Alabama, the Carolinas.
00:23But the heat is the big driver.
00:25In Sanford, Florida, near Orlando, 97 would tie the record.
00:28And in Charleston, South Carolina, we're looking at a record-breaking day at 97 degrees as well.
00:34Sunday, more showers and storms for some, driven by big-time heat and humidity.
00:38And on Sunday, we're looking at record-tying heat in parts of Mississippi.
00:42It will be close to records in other areas.
00:44Monday, we're going to continue with this here.
00:46Greenville, Mississippi, 106.
00:47That would break the daily record high for the date.
00:50And on Monday, we're forecasting 106 degrees in Greenville, Mississippi,
00:54which would smash the daily record high.
