00:00We've got callers on the line.
00:02This Steph Diggs signing reminds me of the Deshaun Jackson signing,
00:06and I recognize I'm going back in time, but I do that because I'm old.
00:09I'm curious what this does, like your most excited moment for an offseason move,
00:13or I guess an in-season move, technically, since what?
00:17Let's start with our guy Anthony in Martinsville.
00:18What's up, Anthony?
00:21Hey, what's going on?
00:22It'll be Mitch and Finley.
00:23How y'all doing this morning?
00:24We're good, brother.
00:24How you doing, man?
00:26Hey, the sun's sounding a little bit brighter.
00:29You know what I mean?
00:29I mean, the weather feels a whole lot better.
00:31We've got Diggs in the building, and I'm so happy about it.
00:33Shout out to Brandon Ayoub.
00:35We're praying for you, brother.
00:36You know what I'm saying?
00:37We know you're down bad right now.
00:39Get over it.
00:40I think that –
00:42He's kind of down bad in his own making, though.
00:44I think that's an important caveat there.
00:48They said he changed his name on Instagram to Mr. Feelings.
00:51Oh, my God.
00:52But, listen, I think that the best offseason move so far
00:58was the camaraderie that we built by keeping David Blau as the offense –
01:04promoting him the offensive coordinator.
01:06And I think that that sent a signal around the league to other players that,
01:09hey, you know, they really are trying to, you know, progress.
01:12Because if we were to bring in just, you know,
01:15you name the offensive coordinator.
01:16If we were to bring in somebody else,
01:18it probably would have turned a lot of other players off to signing here
01:21because they would have looked at it like it's going to be a whole new offense,
01:25something totally different.
01:26So I think that that really helped, you know,
01:28make it easier to bring in better players on offense
01:31because they see us really progressing
01:33and trying to keep the same, you know, standard here.
01:36So I think keeping David Blau is really what really, you know, set it off.
01:41The continuity for Jaden is – I mean, that's a great call, dude.
01:43Yeah.
01:44That is.
01:45I think the continuity and that dude is that quarterback.
01:47Yeah, that helps too.
01:49Yeah.
01:50Appreciate the call, man.
01:52I'm going to keep these phones going.
01:53Folks want to call in.
01:53We want to take them.
01:54Don is in Ashburn.
01:56Don, how fired up are you?
01:58What's up, fellas?
02:00So, you know, J.P., I think you kind of nailed it,
02:01but it's really sad because, you know,
02:06the pool of guys that we've re-signed is so diluted
02:08from what they've done over the years on the field.
02:11And so it's really hard to get back
02:12because the first person I thought of was London Fletcher.
02:15And that goes back to, like, the early 2000s.
02:17But I think he nailed it with Deshaun.
02:19But the difference here with Diggs is that he's coming in
02:24and he's being added to a team that we already have
02:26some high expectations for.
02:28And it really does elevate what we think we can do.
02:31And if this defense can create some turnovers
02:34and we've got guys on the offense that are going to produce
02:36like we think they will, I mean, this is going to be a fun year.
02:39All right.
02:39Hell, yeah.
02:40Appreciate the call, man.
02:41I agree, brother.
02:41Yeah, the offense is certainly fun to watch.
02:43Let's hit up Q-Ball in D.C.
02:45What's up, Q-Ball?
02:47I'm guessing he has long flowing.
02:48What's going on, brother?
02:49How you doing, brother?
02:51Good.
02:52Good to hear from you guys again.
02:53I'll be out there next week.
02:54This right here amplified my desire to be at camp twice next week
02:59with Diggs coming in.
03:01So, JP, you stole the thunder, obviously.
03:03Deshaun is the big name for me when he first signed.
03:06Of course, it was a used car rental, if you will.
03:10Didn't last long enough.
03:12He was here a couple of years, dude.
03:16Sir?
03:16Deshaun was here a couple of years.
03:19I know, but it just didn't.
03:21Things just weren't right back then.
03:22You know that.
03:23That's correct.
03:23That is certainly correct.
03:25I mean, not to discount Deshaun, because he was dynamite.
03:28I remember what he did to us, him and Vic, what he did to us.
03:31Oh, my God.
03:32Him coming here was a reversal of that,
03:35but we just didn't get the finished product like we wanted.
03:37A couple highlight reels, but that's it.
03:39Yep, that's fair.
03:40But London, clearly, we got to give London his props.
03:43You know, got an opportunity to get right on the field
03:47and took a photo with him a couple years ago,
03:49right before an Eagles game, ironically.
03:52So, I definitely got to give London his props.
03:54As far as the duds, I mean, Marshawn Lattimore was a king stud
03:58before his situation coming here.
04:00Five years ago, I would have loved to take him Lattimore.
04:03And then, obviously, Wagner being here was dynamite,
04:06but, you know, he was past his prime.
04:08If we got there five-year-ago Bobby Wagner,
04:12would we have signed this young man this season from Ohio State?
04:15Think about that.
04:17Probably not, man.
04:18Probably not.
04:18Appreciate the call, dude.
04:20Thanks, man.
04:20All right, man.
04:21It's obviously a super exciting time.
04:24I also thought, because Steph Diggs has had various baggage
04:31or incidents, whatever you want to say, over his career,
04:34I thought Dan Quinn gave a really thoughtful answer, asked about that.
04:38I think it was Tashaun Reed from The Post asked about it.
04:40Number six, Jeff, if we can run that real quick.
04:43Dan Quinn was asked about kind of if there are
04:46or what they make of off-field issues with Stephon Diggs.
04:51DQ, with Steph, I know this offseason he had some off-the-field issues,
04:55and I know that any time that kind of stuff happens,
04:56it's always a question of if the league office may have any suspensions
05:00or things of that nature.
05:01I know character is important to you guys.
05:02What went into vetting that side of things before bringing him in,
05:05and what made you guys feel confident that it wouldn't be an issue?
05:07Yeah, for Steph or any of the guys, we've got a really good process,
05:10you know, that we go through when we bring players in.
05:13And so we were certainly comfortable, you know, with that process,
05:16and we're excited to have him.
05:20Pretty simple there, huh?
05:21Yep, very much.
05:24I think it's kind of funny.
05:30When the league came out and put out a statement
05:32that there was no pending punishment for Diggs,
05:36that told you all you needed.
05:37Yep.
05:38Because the league is basically giving everybody a green light to go get them.
05:42Yep.
05:43Speaking of green lights, my guy Mark Inlargo is on the line.
05:46Mark Inlargo can go.
05:48Mark, how fired up are you for this Diggs situation?
05:51Oh, man, I'm real fired up about Diggs.
05:53I mean, you know what we got right now, man?
05:55We got the University of Maryland.
05:58Maryland.
05:59Just call us the University of MC.
06:02We're doing everything else.
06:03But the most exciting player that I think we got that I really,
06:07really liked was Tigger Conway.
06:09And I'm going to tell you why.
06:10Tigger Conway is a tight end version of Brian Mitchell 30 years ago.
06:14And here's the reason why I say that.
06:17Because this guy runs similar to what B.
06:20Mitch used to run when he was out there on the field,
06:22only a little bit more rougher and stuff like that.
06:26B. Mitch probably, this is probably making B.
06:28Mitch laugh right now.
06:29But it is true.
06:30And I do think the way he catches the ball and how athletic he is out there,
06:35I'm telling you, it's scary.
06:38And he's going to open up things.
06:40He's going to set a new trend that I think you're going to start seeing
06:44from years to come where you're going to start seeing small 6-2, 6-3 tight ends
06:50is going to be the norm.
06:52And here's the other person.
06:53Ben Sennett is going to be huge in this, too.
06:56Because he's going to be the other tight end.
06:57And we finally found something that Ben Sennett can flourish in as well.
07:01So, oh, extremely excited about Stephon Diggs.
07:03I'm very, very excited about it.
07:05Mark, can I say something?
07:08Go ahead, J.T.
07:09You've got to be fired up.
07:10This is the first time you haven't yelled in a while.
07:15Let me ask, how long has B. Mitch been laughing since I said
07:18the chicken cock was like it 30 years ago?
07:22He enjoyed it.
07:23He enjoyed it.
07:24That was fun.
07:24All right, appreciate you, Mark.
07:25Have a great weekend, bud.
07:27Yeah, it was 37 years ago.
07:28Let's let Jay and D.C. chime in.
07:31What's up, Jay?
07:34All right, what's up, J.P.?
07:36We're good, buddy.
07:36How are you?
07:38Hey, all right, Mr. Mitchell, what's up?
07:40This is Jay from training camp, man.
07:42I'm good, bro.
07:43I appreciate you, man.
07:45You know, you signed all my kids.
07:47B. Mitch took the time to sign.
07:49I had about nine or ten kids.
07:51He signed everybody's autographs.
07:55And they found out who he was and everything like that.
07:58They've been elated ever since, man.
08:00Thank you for that, bro.
08:01Appreciate you, brother.
08:01So, J.P., you stole my thunder.
08:06I'm excited about Diggs as much as I was about 2014 when we got Deshaun.
08:12We had Santana Moss.
08:14We had Pierre Garcon.
08:15I thought we was on to something that didn't materialize or whatever.
08:19But you said since the last signing, I was really excited when we got Josh Norman.
08:25When we got Josh Norman, Josh Norman came touted.
08:28I was like, okay, we're back now, you know what I'm saying, as far as corners.
08:33You know, so I was just as excited for Josh Norman as I am for Diggs.
08:38But it's still got to work out.
08:39So, all of this we're saying about him, it's still got to materialize and it's got to be seen.
08:44That's a good point.
08:47But the thing I want to say that I am most hobbyist with this signing of Diggs for Adam Peters.
08:57Adam Peters, when he came in, he came highly touted as the guy behind the scenes with San Francisco and
09:02how he helped put that together.
09:03And for a couple of years, it didn't seem like he could land a big guy or put together a
09:09good roster and stuff like that.
09:11But this year, I think this helps him.
09:13It helps his status with the fans.
09:15I hope it keeps him around for a while because I think he really is a really good GM.
09:20So, I'm really excited for him finally landing a piece and some pieces that can help us trend in the
09:26right direction.
09:27All right.
09:27Appreciate the call, man.
09:28You're welcome, man.
09:29Jay brought something up there.
09:31We're going to do Asbemus today, right?
09:33I'm pulling up the show sheet.
09:34All right.
09:35Asbemus anything at 1 o'clock.
09:36Can I lead it off?
09:37I have a question for you.
09:38Okay.
09:39Because I don't know how to respond to something that was said to me today, but I'll wait until 1
09:44o'clock to ask you.
09:45Now you got me wondering.
09:47Somebody's got to remind me of the thing I want Asbemus.
09:49Maybe I'll email Stallion so I don't forget.
09:51Let's take one more call here.
09:52My guy Todd is in Richmond.
09:54What's up, Todd?
09:56Good morning, gentlemen.
09:57And first, I'd like to say thank you to Mr. Brian Mitchell for all the hard work that he put
10:03in on that grinder while playing through those 80s and 90s with those awesome red-skinned teams.
10:10I'm a red-skinned fan.
10:12Sorry, gentlemen.
10:12And I come from back when I actually got to see Darrell Green run, Tony Dorsett down.
10:19That's how old I am.
10:20That's how far back I go.
10:22And I cannot put enough passion in there.
10:25But let me also echo the gentleman's last comments.
10:28I think that the GM is actually trying to put together a Joe Gibbs type of team.
10:33D-Mitch, please acknowledge whether I'm wrong or right with that, if you don't mind.
10:38I don't know if it's Joe Gibbs, like it was a different era.
10:42But he's putting together guys that have great talent that are going to be competing like hell.
10:46And that's one thing Joe believed in, people competing.
10:50Got to compete.
10:51You got to compete.
10:52You got to build the best possible team you can.
10:54We expect to hear from Stefan Diggs sometime soon.
10:57We will take that live here on B-Mitch and Finley.
11:00Nobody go anywhere.
11:01We're going to keep the phones open.
11:02We're just going to have a party.
11:03It's a party vibe in Ashburn today.
11:05Want me to get that bottle out of my car?
11:06I mean, 20 minutes until Scottie's Vicar Red Bull opens, it's B-Mitch and Finley.
