Here We Go Magic tell NME how they formed as a band, the repetition and layers in their music, and what their logo would be.
Transcript
00:02My name's Luke, and this is...
00:05Teeny.
00:05And we're in Here We Go Magic.
00:08We've been together for a year, and we just made our second record.
00:14The first record I made, and then I had to play shows, so I put a band together.
00:18And hence, here we are.
00:21We're a five piece, with a few personnel changes at the very beginning.
00:26But then we kind of settled on the band, and we've just kind of been...
00:31The second, the first record came out, we've just been touring pretty much consistently,
00:35and then made a record, and now here we are again, touring and playing, you know.
00:41Sometimes it's really loud, and like really shrill.
00:45And sometimes I can't hear my vocals on stage, and I get kind of mad.
00:49That's our sound.
00:50Well, last night that was our sound.
00:52But then sometimes our sound's really beautiful, and full, and...
00:56And hypnotic.
00:57Hypnotic.
00:58There's a lot of precedence on repetition.
01:02And we tend to build from little small pieces, and slowly like stack stuff together...
01:08...until it becomes this kind of like overwhelming mass, squirming mass.
01:14The only track available with this band, in terms of like recording with the band, is Collector,
01:19which is the first single off our new record, which is out June 7th in the UK.
01:25Our band's logo would be what?
01:27Fear the Reaper.
01:28Something like the Reaper.
01:28Like the Reaper.
01:30Like, the Reaper!
01:31Just say, oh.
01:31And now the Majorita Woman.
