00:01Two people were seriously injured after part of a building collapsed in central Sydney on Monday, triggering a major emergency
00:08response.
00:09The incident occurred just before 11 a.m. local time in Ultimo, an inner city suburb about two kilometers from
00:16Sydney's central business district.
00:18New South Wales ambulance said seven people were assessed at the scene.
00:23Two injured workers were taken to hospital, while the remaining five did not require medical treatment.
00:30Firefighters are assessing the structural stability of the building, while a nearby service station, an adjacent building, and a rear
00:37laneway have been evacuated as a precaution.
00:39Part of that building has collapsed, a significant portion of that building has collapsed.
00:43There were two people that have suffered injuries as a result of that, and they've been transported to hospital.
00:48So we've got firefighters currently looking at the stability of the building.
00:51We've also shut down the service station next door as a precaution.
00:55The building behind, and a laneway at the back, has also been evacuated as a precaution.
