00:15but I'm going through a lot of change in my life at the moment.
00:18In the last couple of years, my dad unfortunately passed away
00:21and I've moved across a big ocean away from my family.
00:25With a new chapter comes a new haircut,
00:27so I'm super excited for this transformation.
00:30I have never cut or dyed my hair before.
00:33When I was growing up,
00:34my mum wouldn't let me do anything to my hair.
00:36She always just wanted it to be natural and as long as possible.
00:40I think she kind of took ownership over my hair.
00:43She thinks that I'm very lucky to have long and thick hair,
00:46so she just never wanted me to do anything outrageous.

01:27In the middle, your bangs will be a little shorter.

02:22What I'm thinking for the color, and obviously I want you to give your opinion too,
02:26but I kind of want it to remain a similar color because it goes with my eyes and my skin

02:33I'm all about very sun-kissed looking hair.
02:35So I feel like if we created the sun-kissed version of your hair with the color,
02:40that would bounce off of the haircut really nicely,
02:43like since you're going to have these pieces that come down.
02:46So let's get started.
02:47I'm just going to go grab some supplies really quick.
02:50We'll have a bunch of foils in your hair.
02:52These are going to be all the lighter pieces that we want to see.
02:55And then we'll gloss everything after to refine the tone and we'll be good.

03:18We're done with this step of the process.
03:21You'll probably sit for about 20 minutes now.
03:24If you're good at that point, we'll go upstairs and get you glossed.

04:10Now you've just got these sun-kissed highlights throughout your hair.
04:13We kind of created those by doing somewhat of a balayage and a foil over at the Shampoo Bowl
04:20when we had the gloss on you.
04:22We refined the tone to give it this more like kind of like a lighter brown element.
04:27Let me go grab Karen.
04:28She'll come over, do the cut, and we'll finish up your look.
04:35So we'll clean up the length, add some texture in there, do the bangs,
04:40do some internal layering too.
04:42That way we can kind of like balance the density.
04:44Okay.
04:46I'm going to just smooth your ends out because we like it to be really straight.
04:55Sheepdog.
04:57With a dry cut, we're able to refine the cut and like really get to the spots that need work
05:05better.
05:05So when it's dry, it's like everything is exactly how it's going to be.
