00:04Hi, I'm Andrew Trendle. You're watching NME. We're here at Mad Cool 2026.
00:08What's the secret?
00:09Hello!
00:10Hola!
00:11Hola!
00:12Yes!
00:13How's your Spanish?
00:14Wait, como estas?
00:16Where is my sister where I need her?
00:18My sister has lived in Madrid for like 14 years.
00:20Oh, yeah.
00:20Yeah, she should have been here, but she's out bopping around.
00:23That's it, because you've been here for a while, right?
00:26You've been here...
00:27Yeah, I've been here a couple of days.
00:28Okay, what have you seen?
00:29I saw Sara Larsson yesterday.
00:31That was good.
00:32Epic!
00:33Best show I've seen in a really long time.
00:35It was so, so good.
00:36She's so talented.
00:37The whole production was great.
00:38We saw Lorde.
00:39That was sick.
00:40That was amazing.
00:41Really, really good.
00:43I think that was what we had time for.
00:46Yeah, but it was great.
00:48And then I've seen my family.
00:49Are you sticking around for the whole week?
00:50Are you going to be here till tomorrow?
00:51Going home tomorrow for...
00:55How are we feeling about tomorrow?
00:56Well, I was going to ask how you're feeling about it.
01:00I don't want to say anything, so...
01:03Not jinxing anything.
01:04We are talking about a certain football fixture.
01:08Certain one.
01:09Certain one.
01:10How are you feeling about this?
01:12I don't know, because I've also been supporting...
01:15We support Norway too in my household.
01:17Do you?
01:17Yes.
01:18So, they're just really fun to watch.
01:20Harland get his head down and just plow through everybody.
01:23So, yeah, I'm a bit torn about tomorrow.
01:26Mmm.
01:28So, yeah.
01:28I feel like no one wants to talk about it, because we're both, like, nervous to, like...
01:32Yeah.
01:32I mean, I don't know.
01:33What's the vibe in Norway?
01:35The vibes are great.
01:37The whole country is rowing.
01:40Can you row?
01:41Yeah.
01:42I went down to the castle in Norway the other day.
01:45Oh, I saw that.
01:45With my boyfriend and my friends, and yeah, it was really, really fun.
01:48I saw everyone outside the palace, really.
01:50Yeah, yeah.
01:50Going for it.
01:51It was great.
01:51So, where are you going to watch the match?
01:53I'm going to watch it in Oslo, somewhere.
01:57Well, good luck.
01:58Good luck.
01:59Oh, see?
02:00We don't have to fight.
02:01Everything will be okay.
02:04So, yeah.
02:04So, you have got the bangers and the energy to be the kind of, like, the perfect festival act.
02:09So, I was wondering, how have you found this summer being back on the circuit, being back in the flow
02:13of it?
02:13Muchas gracias.
02:16It's really good to be back.
02:17It's fun to be back with, like, new music.
02:20And we're bringing so much energy.
02:22I'm really excited for it tonight.
02:24So, we've been with There's Always More That I Could Say came out in October.
02:27How's it been living in the universe of that album?
02:29Yeah, cool.
02:30We took the album to Japan, Korea, China.
02:36We've been on a Europe tour.
02:38It was, like, Germany and Netherlands and France and the UK.
02:43It was such a fun round.
02:44Obviously, you've worked with Bring Me.
02:46I remember you saying that.
02:47That was so fun.
02:47That was a really, really good song.
02:48And you said you're a big Muse fan, etc.
02:52Do you still, like, have the hunger to, like, go really heavy?
02:56I gotta say, it's such an honour to be playing on this day of Mad Cool.
02:59Yeah.
02:59I was here yesterday and I saw all these, I mean, pop acts, like, both, like, more pop-pop things,
03:07left alternative pop acts.
03:09And it's really, really inspiring to be playing on the same line-up.
03:14I'm so honoured to be here.
03:15But also, so incredibly honoured to be playing on the more rock day.
03:19Yeah, yeah.
03:19Where I feel like I've found myself, sonically, for the last ten years.
03:24Like, somewhere in between.
03:25Like, I make pop songs.
03:27I'm so proud to be calling myself an artist that do make a lot of pop music.
03:32But I've always been influenced by so many different genres.
03:35And I try to cram in as many different inspirations in the studio as possible.
03:40On this last record, we drew a lot of inspiration.
03:44Me and Ashul, the executive producer on this last album, who's, like, one of my best friends.
03:49From, like, Scandi indie pop, French music.
03:55And, like, it is pop music, but way more guitars than I've used before.
04:02And I'm not, like, it can be a song, it can be a snare drum that I heard in a
04:06song once.
04:07But, point is, sorry, rambling, but it is an honour to be playing on the rock day.
04:12To feel like I can have a foot in different camps, per se.
04:16Yeah.
04:16Like, festivals.
04:18And that's what I love about playing festivals as well.
04:20I obviously love doing my own shows, my headline shows.
04:24But to be playing on a festival where there's so many different acts and to see my music be in
04:30that context is really cool.
04:31I've seen people mosh too.
04:32Don't kill my vibe.
04:33I've seen it.
04:34It happens.
04:35I've seen people moshpit to Dynamite.
04:37Yeah.
04:37My ballad.
04:38That was at, like, a student festival in Norway.
04:41So they were moshpitting to, like, literally any song.
04:43They're the best crowd in the world, probably.
04:45But, yeah, that was pretty epic, so.
04:47You look into the crowd and you see lots of hair, tattoos, leather, studs.
04:51I've seen, like, metal people, like, tearing up to ballads.
04:57So, yeah.
04:58Do you think you get a row going?
05:00That would be cool.
05:00Which song would you row to?
05:03I don't know.
05:03Maybe, like, Don't Kill My Vibe is a good row song.
05:07What else have you, like, what's been going on?
05:08What are you listening to at the moment?
05:09Ooh!
05:12Um, where's my phone?
05:13It's not here.
05:14What am I listening to at the moment?
05:16I really like the Turnstyle album.
05:19Oh, yeah.
05:20Thought Never Enough was really good.
05:22Mmm, I really like the new Rodrigo album.
05:26Oh, yeah.
05:27Rodrigo.
05:27I think that's great.
05:28Really good.
05:31It's just amazing songwriting, amazing production.
05:35What else have I been listening to?
05:38Loads of things, like, a bunch of, like, Norwegian acts.
