00:00This is Becca. We rescued her over a week ago and sadly had to take her to the vets because

00:05she had

00:06a really bad paw. But today we're taking her back for a checkup and it's not good news. And we're

00:12starting off our day, you guessed it, picking up poo. Jockey really doesn't mind you. No, she minds

00:18you because you stink. And we've got a bit of an update for Becca. We're going to be taking her

00:23to

00:23the vets today. After she's had a bad paw from last week, she was given some antibiotics and

00:28anti-inflammatory. So today we're going to be getting a checkup on her. You can see

00:32her paw compared to the other one. Obviously it's this one with the scar on it. It just doesn't

00:39look right. It's a lot bigger than her other paw as well. Something isn't right there. But before

00:44we do that, we've got our professional dog consultant coming round to do some training

00:49with Jockey. Jockey is one of our most terrified rescues, but you can see from this video, she

00:55is gradually starting to come out her shell. So we're going to try and progress this with

00:59her training. We set out some items for Jockey to have a sniff round and you can already see

01:04the difference from last time. She's a lot more brave, which is amazing. But she did have

01:09some times where she would lose confidence and would go back into the crate, which is fine.

01:13Dilnaz said it's important to make sure she doesn't feel any pressure. She then tried to do some

01:18pattern recognition training with her. She's quite shy when you go to put your hand out to pet her.

01:22So Dilnaz started counting to three. One, two, three. And once she did, she would put her hand out to

01:31Jockey. This worked really well. So we then brought Becca in to give Jockey a bit more confidence and try

01:37and progress her training even more. Nice.

01:41Becca, you've eaten all of it. That's the only issue. Oh, wow. Okay. Here you go. Good job.

01:49Jockey is showing really good improvement, slowly but surely. So now it's time to go to the vets to get

01:55Becca checked out. So the vet had a look over. Becca had like a general check. And unfortunately,

02:00it looks like her paw still hasn't fully healed. So what they want to do is they want to bring

02:05her

02:05in to get a biopsy done on her and also get an x-ray done as well. Unfortunately, this is

02:11going to cost

02:13£850 for her and she is going to have to be put under. We have booked her in for tomorrow

02:18because we just thought, you know, we may as well just get this done as soon as possible.

02:21So she can eat late tonight, but can't have any breakfast tomorrow morning. And we're going to be

02:26dropping her off at the vets for quarter past nine. So I've got a bit of notes here just to

02:30let you

02:30guys know exactly what is going on. So with the biopsy, they're basically just going to take like

02:35a bit of her padding off just to try and see what's going on in there. They did say it's

02:39like

02:39not a massive rush, but it's better off knowing what it is in case they need to like take one

02:44of

02:44her toes off, which makes us really, really sad. So now it's probably a good time to tell you the

02:49whole reason we're doing this series. We are trying to raise £30,000 for Happy Shelter. Now I'm just

02:54going to go through our GoFundMe to see where we're at with the donations. Wow. So we've just

03:00hit £13,000 raise, actually a little bit over. Firstly, a massive thank you so much to everybody

04:28spa day. And luckily, everybody chose Becca. So although it's not great news and she's going to

04:33have to go and have surgery tomorrow, we've got a spa day planned for Becca. So at least she's got

04:38something to look forward to. We're now really close to our £50,000 goal. Oh, bless you.

04:44And when that happens, we're going to take a dog out to the pet store. Go on, away from Becca.

04:50And that dog is going to help choose treats and toys for all of the dogs here. So please,

05:01Now we're going to go to Happy Shelter to show you one of the dogs that are there. She's very

05:05barky,

05:06but very, very adorable. Let's get you guys to meet Anna. This very barky dog here is called Anna.

05:13Hello, Anna. And so what's interesting is that she barks a lot, but it has gotten slightly better

05:21the longer we've been here. So what happened to Anna? It says she's unsure of other people,

05:27but she is still really friendly. As you can see from this video with Kamau, how different she is.

05:34And the smile that she does is hilarious and absolutely adorable. So Anna was found in a

05:40very insecure location with her mum, Carla, and siblings then brought to the shelter in 2021.

05:46She's a gorgeous dog with striking like green eyes. She's very cute. She's scared and shy around new

05:51people, but once she does feel safe, she becomes sweet and gentle. I think something that's kind of

05:57important to note here is that some dogs are like this, obviously when you first come and visit them,

06:03but you can see how she is with Kamau. She's a completely different dog. And so, yes, it's probably

06:08easy to judge her because she's sitting there barking at me and it doesn't look great, but she's a really

06:13friendly girl. She's just scared. That's why she's barking. She's unsure of me and she's scared.

06:19Okay. So Kamau's going inside to show how different she's going to be when she's with someone that she knows.

06:36She's a completely different dog with Kamau in there. She stops barking.

06:45Anna was adorable, a little loud, but she was just scared, bless her. So now it's time to give our

06:51poor rescue dog, Becca, an amazing spa day. So because of Becca's poorly poor and her legs,

06:58we've got a bath mat for her to be able to stand on during her shower. And we're also doing

07:03like a

07:03peanut butter licky mat. So she's got something to do while she's in there. So first thing I'm going to

07:08do is turn the shower on just so she can get used to some of the noise. Wrong one. Good

07:13girl.

08:34dirt that's going to come off her. Yeah, I think so. It's going to be insane. She's being so good.

08:40Bearing in mind, this is probably the first time she's ever had a bath. Yeah. So the fact that she's

08:46being like this is really, really good. She stinks, guys. Oh my God. You smell her? Yeah. Really?

11:17I've had to have a shower because I felt disgusting and so itchy.

11:21But let's continue with Becca's grooming. Ella has got a brush and some detangling conditioner

11:27for Becca as well. I don't want to freak her out because it's...

11:30Oh, okay. Okay. What's this? It's a brush. Look at her tail. She's loving this. Look at her ears.

11:38To be honest, it's probably really nice for us to just get some one-on-one attention with us as

11:41well.

11:42Yeah. Oh, Becca. I cannot go over how much of a different color she looks. It is insane.

11:55a bit of a cut on her paw as well. We can get that checked out at the vet.

11:59Her ears have gone all back. She's gone into Dobby mode.

12:23So, what is a spa day without painting nails? Becca, come on.

12:42Becca has had an amazing day. Good girl. She looks adorable.

12:58The vet said we can take Becca on a really light walk.
