00:03Built after a weight of 500 years and visited by over 12 crore people in just two years,
00:08the trust managing the Ram Mandir is facing allegations of a multi-crore donation scam.
00:13The allegations first surfaced through local media in Ayodhya. But it was in June 7 when
00:17Akhilesh Shadav raised this issue. It caught everyone's attention. Then came Mahipal Singh,
00:25a former accounts official at the Shri Ram Janma Mohami Teert Shetra Trust, Singh alleged that
00:30donation amounts were being deliberately under-recorded during cash counting and that
00:34he was removed from his job after raising the issue internally. Further allegations surfaced
00:38against temple employee Tinnu Yadav, who reportedly earns less than Rs 20,000 a month but is accused
00:43of amassing properties and assets worth crores. Media reports describe him as a close associate
00:48of the trust General Secretary Champat Rai.
00:55On June 13, the temple trust itself requested a state probe. According to reports, the SIT's
01:00investigation has found indications of possible manipulation of CCTV footage installed inside
01:05the counting rooms. More than 50 people connected to the trust have been questioned, including
01:09trustee Anil Mishra and General Secretary Champat Rai. The temple was inaugurated in 2024 after
01:14decades of political and legal battles and holds immense religious significance for crores of Hindu
01:19devotees. At present, the SIT's probe is ongoing and the veracity of the allegations can only be
01:24determined once its final report is submitted.
