00:00We just received news that there was a steam-driven or phreatic eruption of the Taal Volcano in Batangas.

00:09According to the Office of Civil Defense in Calabarzon, the volcano erupted earlier this morning at 6 a.m.

00:14The direction of the eruption was to the south, so residents are being careful.

00:19GMA Integrated News is also trying to get a statement from PHIVOX.

00:23For now, the Taal Volcano is under Alert Level 1.

00:26It is still prohibited to enter the Taal Volcano Island and around the main crater of the volcano.
