00:02American Airlines plans to add seatback screens as part of a broader cabin overhaul aimed at
00:07improving customer satisfaction and closing its profit gap with Delta Airlines and United Airlines,
00:13according to CNBC. The 4K screens will begin appearing on new Boeing and Airbus aircraft
00:19deliveries in 2028, while existing planes will be retrofitted with screens, Bluetooth audio,
00:25and USB-C charging. American expects installations to be completed in the early 2030s.
00:31The airline will also add more first-class and extra legroom seats across its fleet.
00:36CEO Robert Isom previously told CNBC that American is working to improve profitability through premium
00:42seating, lounges, and its network. American reported a $71 million second quarter profit
00:48compared with $805 million for United and $1.6 billion for Delta.
