00:03So seeing 25 seconds to go with 5k to go
00:06and Lidltrek offering up a lot of resources
00:09what sort of chance are you giving the break now?
00:12Still hovering 50-50 or advantage peloton?
00:15This is a tricky one because you look at the faces here
00:17there's only two riders on the front of the peloton
00:19riding at the moment.
00:21The breakaway, the last images we saw from those guys
00:23they were really circulating in a good way
00:25and this gap is holding.
00:27And still it only takes one or two really, really big turns
00:30but I'm going to say it's a vantage breakaway here right now.
00:34Yeah, this is going to be really difficult to close
00:36as you identify there are only a couple of riders
00:38look at the size of this group and how small that it is.
00:41This is really a small group
00:43so of course it doesn't have the resources
00:45of lots of riders for sprinters
00:48that want to close things down.
00:50So it's Red Bull Borahansko at Lidltrek
00:53looking around there
00:55it's another rider of Red Bull Borahansko
00:57so it's just those two teams.
00:59Sam Welsford is here for Net Company Ineos
01:02107 there in the orange helmet and the grey colours
01:04but they're not doing anything in the chase at the moment
01:07they're sitting back and trying to let Lidltrek
01:10just deplete their own sprint train resources.
01:13Tim O'Leary is there, number 31
01:15from Sudol Quickstep
01:18no team mates around him at the moment
01:20but he is an absolute master of working it out
01:22and finding his own way.
01:25Yeah, I just wonder if there's been an incident in the peloton
01:28because that peloton just seems to have shrunk in size quite quickly.
01:32We saw it was fairly big
01:33there was fairly big gaps
01:35but it was kind of rolling not too far apart.
01:39That's that roundabout in the background
01:40where we saw the crash on the last lap
01:42that first chase group safely through
01:45peloton about to rejoin
01:47still 22 seconds with 3.5km to go
01:50so the gap has barely changed
01:53over the last two kilometres or so
01:57it's going to take some massive turns
01:59but there's a lot of riders who would be willing to chase
02:02but they're still going to get into the first part of the peloton
02:06they're still trying to chase across this gap
02:07Jasper Philipsen is one of those left behind
02:09number 21, Dylan Grunewigen
02:11also down there in that group as well
02:15so plenty of sprinters have been left behind
02:17not made that front group, Matt
02:19and really complicating the chase
02:21because there's not the amount of domestiques
02:23at the head of the peloton
02:25to chase these five
02:2620 seconds inside 3km to go.
02:29Yeah, if these guys don't look at each other
02:32and they keep riding like this
02:33then they have a really good chance
02:35of fighting this out for the stage victory
02:37when they start to look to each other
02:38that's where the wheels are going to come off
02:41I'm not, the time gap, we can't
02:43it's around 20 seconds
02:45we don't know exactly how they're using it
02:48and how they're updating it
02:49but Little Trek now getting a little bit more organised
02:51towards the front
02:51they've got three guys there
02:53four guys in total with Jonathan Milan behind
02:55so they've got some big engines here
02:57that can close these gaps in the last 2.5km
02:59but it's still hanging in the balance
03:02and if that 20 second time gap is correct
03:04then this is going to be very, very close.
03:07Well you've got a lot of teams now, Matt
03:09that they're just trying to keep their lead out intact
03:11and that they see that Little Trek
03:13are putting everything into this chase now
03:15so there'll be teams sitting back saying
03:17okay, we'll let Little Trek do it
03:19because we don't want to give Milan
03:21a free run at this
03:23and they're gambling now
03:25they really are gambling with this gap
03:27that it might not close
03:29but if they can let Little Trek do all the work
03:32they may be able to take advantage of
03:35Jonathan Milan becoming isolated
03:37at the front of the peloton
03:38and give themselves a much better chance
03:40of beating the big Italian
03:41and they start to look, Matt
03:43what you said they shouldn't do.
03:45This is where it can start to go wrong
03:47quite quickly now
03:48because as soon as they start to slow down here
03:50then this gap's just going to come down
03:52really quickly
03:53you see now this real organisation
03:55on the front end of the peloton
03:56this gap is falling now
03:59Yeah, they've just given away seven seconds
04:01you just, we saw that moment
04:02where they just start to look at each other
04:04they all left Kielic and Beervood on the front
04:07and the others just looking to get a free ride
04:09but 13 seconds, a k and a half to go
04:12it's still doable for the break
04:13but they're all thinking about
04:15how they're going to win themselves
04:16Dries de Bombe now
04:17he absolutely doesn't want to get caught
04:19he doesn't want to throw away
04:22181 kilometres of effort off the front
04:24but the peloton is coming oh so close now
04:27and Matt, it looks like the peloton
04:29is going to get it right again
04:31It is, it's done for the breakaway
04:32they're looking at each other way too much
04:34the cooperation has gone
04:35if they carried on just riding together
04:38I think they would have made it
04:40but now it's curtains for them
04:41you see the peloton have got them in their sights
04:43and they're going to roll through now
04:45one case to go
04:46Yeah, it looked like they had enough to make it
04:49counter-attack now coming from Timur Kielic
04:51inside the final kilometre
04:53they go left of the traffic island
04:55peloton follows them through there
04:57and start to pick up the slipstream
04:59but they do have them in their sights
05:01the peloton is going to roll
05:02over the top of the break
05:04to our five men
05:05who went away with 181k to go
05:08they are caught within 600 metres
05:11of the finish line in Deist
05:13and now it's over to the sprinters
05:15the sprint trains forming up
05:17or what is left of them
05:18Jasper Philipson has got himself back
05:20towards the front of the peloton
05:22Tim Merlier was riding up there
05:24all on his own
05:25a little bit of picture break up
05:27that we apologise for
05:28Jonathan Milan pushing and shoving
05:30with Arnaud Dele there in the middle
05:31in third wheel
05:33Dylan Krunewegen
05:34it's actually the Unibet rules
05:35that Rockets have got themselves
05:36at the front
05:37and take off
05:38into these final couple of bends
05:40Milan sitting in second wheel
05:43now opens up
05:44over the top of Picnic Postonell
05:46Jonathan Milan

06:06that was
06:06that was really close
06:08on the line
06:08yeah
06:08Pavel Bittner there
06:09would open up his sprint
06:11Jonathan Milan
06:12coming around him
06:13then
06:13really strong sprint
06:15but it was super close
06:16to see the reactions
06:17from the riders
06:17not really giving anything away
06:20well Milan
06:21giving Olaf Koi
06:22a pat on the back
06:23looking like he might have said
06:25well done
