At an Atlanta rally, Senator Jon Ossoff delivered a forceful critique of Donald Trump and the broader culture of money in American politics. Ossoff argued that corruption extends beyond any single politician, pointing to corporate influence, billionaire spending, lobbyists, and super PACs as forces shaping national priorities. He connected these issues to rising prescription costs, insurance disputes, economic insecurity, and broken political promises. Addressing Georgia voters, Ossoff emphasized the growing financial pressures facing working families, arguing that longer hours and harder work have not delivered greater stability. His remarks framed political reform and economic fairness as central challenges for America’s future.

00:00After he bought millions in stock he canceled the tariffs and triggered one
00:04of the biggest same-day rebound rallies in market history. He's trying to get
00:10money. Lago mafia really has taken American corruption to spectacular new
00:17heights. But corruption in American politics runs a lot deeper than Donald
00:24Trump. To attack a broken system, I get it. Right target. Yes, the system is
00:29really rigged. But he's not unrigging it, he's re-rigging it for himself.
00:57Hello Atlanta!
01:13Thank you all so much for being here. Thank you to my friend, Reverend Dr. Cynthia L. Hale of Ray
01:22of Hope Christian Church for that warm introduction.
01:28Would every veteran, every military service member, every military spouse, please raise your hand high if you can and hold
01:35them high to be honored by all of us for your service to our country.
01:41Thank you so much. Thank you. Thank you. Now Atlanta, the polls open in eight weeks.
01:57Eight weeks. Eight weeks till early vote. Eight weeks till you can cast your ballots to save our
02:04republic. Atlanta, turn to your neighbor and say eight weeks.
02:10Eight weeks till early vote.
02:12Say lock in.
02:14Lock in.
02:17Because the country's counting on us, Atlanta.
02:23The country's counting on us.
02:30And the crowds I've seen over the last year and a half at rallies like this one.
02:35Decent folk from all walks of life and living rooms and backyards across our state.
02:41Our coalition of Democrats, Independents, and Republicans.
02:45And the volunteer army already knocking thousands of doors each week.
02:50All leave no doubt that Georgia's about to make history again.
03:01Atlanta, are you ready to win?
03:08Now I know many of you are here today because you just can't stand what's been done to our country.
03:17Our government made a tool of one man's vengeance, power, and wealth.
03:23Prices soar while the president rakes in billions.
03:29Cancer patients lose insurance while the rich get another tax cut.
03:35We're plunged deeper and deeper into another reckless war.
03:43Private prisons full of families grow in size and squalor.
03:48The dollar of the Justice Department and even our intelligence agencies are twisted to serve this president's vendettas.
03:57But in eight weeks, Atlanta, in eight weeks we can cast our ballots and say,
04:02Enough is enough.
04:12In eight weeks we will vote to rebuke him so decisively that no president will dare such abuses again for
04:22centuries, Atlanta.
04:27In eight weeks we will vote to elect a Medicaid expanding Governor Bottoms to end our state's health care emergency.
04:38And between now and then, I need you to work, Atlanta.
04:42Not for my sake.
04:43Not for the sake of the Democratic Party, but for the sake of our state and our country.
04:48Because, see, some people just happen to live at times and in places where history is made.
04:53And this year, once again, that's us.
04:56So Atlanta, are you ready to work?
05:00Are you ready to win?
05:06Now remember, he promised to lower prices on day one.
05:13You remember that?
05:16And I want the president's remaining supporters to hear this, because it was all a lie.
05:24Under Donald J. Trump, it costs more than ever to stock your fridge, to power your home, to make a
05:32cup of coffee, to buy school supplies for your kid or a tractor for your farm.
05:38Gas is up 30% since inauguration.
05:43Diesel, 47%.
05:44Coffee, 35%.
05:45Ground beef, 23%.
05:49They doubled your health insurance premiums and slashed Medicaid to cut taxes for their corporate donors and the ultra-rich.
05:58They made you pay more for everything and took us to war on lies and spent most of last year
06:04trying to cover up for the world's most famous pedophile while the crook president and his crook family raked in
06:10billions.
06:18While your tax dollars were put to work backing Trump's businesses.
06:24See, they are literally the elites they pretend to hate.
06:31So say it again with me now, Atlanta, enough is enough.
06:39Now he promised to lower prices on day one.
06:43He also promised peace and gave us war.
06:48Now in its six months, they drained our stockpiles to achieve nothing.
06:56Iran still has its uranium.
06:58Hormuz is still closed.
07:00And it was all lies.
07:03Eighteen brave Americans killed in action.
07:08Remember last year they claimed Iran's nuclear program had been obliterated?
07:13Then this year they claimed it posed an imminent nuclear threat?
07:18Both times, Locke.
07:21On day one of the war, listen to this, day one, the president said the war was, quote, ahead of
07:27schedule.
07:29Ahead of schedule.
07:31On day four, he declared victory.
07:36Today is day 170.
07:41And did y'all see Hegseth in front of that committee?
07:46Did y'all see it?
07:50Listen to this.
07:52On day nine of the war, the incompetent Pete Hegseth guaranteed Iranian surrender.
07:58On day 14, he claimed Iran's military had been destroyed.
08:03On day 40, he said every single objective had been achieved.
08:08That was four months ago.
08:12They've lied nonstop about this war like they lie about everything.
08:17And they know they're lying, but they lie and they keep lying anyway
08:20because in this White House, they view persistence in deceit as a virtue.
08:25You hear me, Atlanta?
08:28And there's something uniquely despicable about lying a nation into war.
08:40Treating citizens as fools and those who serve as pawns.
08:48Aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln, they've now been at sea for 240 plus days without a port call.
08:54It's a Navy record.
08:55And still, and still, and still they serve with excellence.
09:08God bless the sailors, marines, aviators, and all aboard the United States ship Abraham Lincoln.
09:22See, they don't expect luxury.
09:25They'll endure hardship.
09:28But they deserve competent leaders who send them into combat only when necessary.
09:33And with decisive clarity of purpose.
09:37Not fools who lie about the purpose and progress of war.
09:42And while the sailors on the Lincoln fight his war,
09:47while he fruitlessly drains our munitions and oil reserves,
09:52the President sleeps through his meetings.
09:57He golfs and trades stocks.
10:00See, he doesn't want to do the job.
10:04He wants to build his ballroom and travel with Natalie
10:07on their apparently defenseless flying palace gifted by the Emir of Qatar.
10:25And above all, Donald wants to get money.
10:31How much have you heard about the President's stock trading?
10:36When he first announced the tariffs, you remember that?
10:38He called it Liberation Day.
10:41And it crashed the markets because it was clown policy.
10:44You remember that?
10:47Okay, so follow me through on this.
10:49He announces the tariffs on April 2nd of last year.
10:53The markets tank non-stop for like a week because it's a disastrous trade policy.
10:59And six days into the crash, April 8th, Trump buys millions in stock.
11:04I'm talking Amazon, Nvidia, Apple, Microsoft, Berkshire Hathaway.
11:08And then the very next morning, April 9th, he posts on Truth Social, quote,
11:14This is a great time to buy.
11:16Three exclamation marks.
11:19Okay, now listen to this.
11:21Three hours and 41 minutes after that post, one day after he bought millions in stock,
11:28he canceled the tariffs and triggered one of the biggest same-day rebound rallies in market history.
11:34He's trying to get money.
11:38And you saw, now he's offering paid subscriptions to presidential announcements, right?
11:46Just understand what's for sale here.
11:50The sitting President's pronouncements on war and peace and economic policy delivered first to paying customers?
11:58What an absolute crook.
12:12And speaking of crooks, speaking of crooks, not a lot of people know this,
12:20but Congressman Mike Collins is literally one of the most active crypto traders in the entire Congress, House or Senate.
12:31Now remember, Mike's already under federal investigation for illegally funneling tax dollars to his violent staffer's girlfriend for a no
12:39-show job.
12:40Do you remember that?
12:42But Mike Collins also repeatedly broke the law, hiding his crypto trading.
12:50Because he's like a scandal pinata.
12:55But every time you shake him, more misdeeds fall out.
13:09The Mar-a-Lago Mafia really has taken American corruption to spectacular new heights.
13:18But corruption in American politics runs a lot deeper than Donald Trump.
13:25And see, I get why people voted for him.
13:27Because even before he came on the scene, American politics was coin operated.
13:34Money's in.
13:35Favor's out.
13:36It's been running on corporate money, secret money, billionaire money, both sides.
13:42And when members of Congress aren't fundraising from lobbyists and corporate PACs,
13:46they're just trying to dodge getting bombed by these super PACs.
13:50So spectacular wealth buys an ever greater share of power over our national affairs.
13:57And this corruption is why nothing works for ordinary people.
14:02It's why you pay a fortune for prescriptions.
14:05It's why your insurance company gets away with denying your cancer treatment.
14:10It's why we're promised progress and we get more of the same.
14:15So many broken promises.
14:17We were promised tax cuts for the rich would grow the middle class.
14:22We were promised Iraq had weapons of mass destruction.
14:26We were promised fairness only to see banks bailed out while millions lost their homes.
14:31Do you remember that?
14:34We were promised hard work would earn wealth and advancement.
14:40But for too many, the treadmill gets faster and steeper.
14:43Georgians work harder and longer, but the bills just get higher and higher.
14:48A 60 hour work week still needs SNAP.
14:51Santa can't make you what a girl's wish come true this year.
14:55That bucket list trip is off the table for good.
14:59And the corporate disrespect is suffocating.
15:05Instead of reading to your child that precious spare hour after work, you're on the phone fighting your bank or
15:10the cable company.
15:13After a cancer diagnosis, you can't fight the cancer until you fight your insurance company while they try to deny
15:19you the care you need.
15:23A toddler's ambulance is followed by a $3,000 bill.
15:28So Trump promised to attack a broken system.
15:31I get it.
15:32Right target.
15:33Yes, the system is really rigged, but he's not unrigging it.
15:37He's re-rigging it for himself.
15:44So how do we unrig American politics?
15:48Well, first follow the money.
15:50Citizens United was the most destructive Supreme Court decision in modern American history.
16:02And see, Donald Trump's rise is a symptom of all of this.
16:08And I suspect many of you are here because you recognize that our task is not just to contain his
16:15wickedness, but to cure the rot that gave rise to him.
16:21That this broken moment is an opening not for restoration, but for reformation.
16:29Because who really supports allowing unlimited secret political money to bend the nation's agenda in darkness?
16:37In Garden City or Albany or College Park, if I ask anyone, Democrat, Independent, Republican, none of the above, if
16:44I ask them whether this is how things should work, it doesn't matter who they are, the answer is no.
16:50And Atlanta, if it takes a constitutional amendment to end Citizens United, we'll deliver a united Georgia to ratify it.
17:09A united Georgia.
17:12Every day, our wave grows taller, our tent grows bigger.
17:20Because this isn't just a campaign for Democrats.
17:24Folks come up to me at airports or on the street, they tell me they're lifelong Republicans, but this year,
17:29for the first time, they're voting for a Democrat.
17:41The mayor of Valdosta, Scott James Matheson, a friend of mine, a conservative Republican, he's backing this campaign.
17:55And when the storm hit, I was right there with them to check on folks, block by block, to serve
18:02meals, and then deliver federal disaster relief.
18:05Because that hurricane didn't check party affiliation when it comes to Georgia.
18:10And when it comes to serving Georgians, I don't either.
18:14I don't either.
18:23And then up the road in Tifton, Mayor Julie Smith, another proud Republican who's on this team.
18:32When her hospital needed new dialysis equipment, my office delivered it.
18:39When Tift County pecan farmers told me they needed help lowering foreign tariffs on Georgia pecans, I got it done.
18:48I am grateful.
18:49I am grateful to Scott and Julie for their support.
18:54And there will be more bipartisan friends announcing their support in the weeks ahead.
19:02Because this is a campaign for everyone who craves sanity and competence and quality public service.
19:11This is a campaign for decent folk of all stripes who love our state and our country and care for
19:17each other.
19:24Every day, I think about Congressman Lewis.
19:30His portrait hangs right above my desk in my Senate office.
19:33And even in his final months, he kept reminding us that we all live in one American house.
19:42That we all live in one world house.
19:46John Lewis called it the inevitable truth that we're all members of one human family.
19:53And I suspect many of you are here because you're so deeply troubled by the pain so many of our
19:59fellow human beings are enduring right now.
20:04The terror of a child watching ice take away her mother.
20:13The despair of a cancer patient losing coverage mid-treatment.
20:19The silent panic of a grandmother when she sees the receipt for her groceries and then remembers there's three weeks
20:25left until her next social security check.
20:28And that ache in your heart.
20:31That pit in your stomach.
20:33That's what reminds us we're all in this together.
20:36That we're not just one United States.
20:38We're one united people.
20:40E Pluribus Unum.
20:41Out of many, one.
20:49How amazing is it that the most powerful nation on earth proclaims as our core values that all are created
20:56equal.
20:57With inalienable rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness no matter how humble our beginnings.
21:02No matter our ancestry or when we arrived on these shores.
21:06Because Americans aren't a race.
21:09We're a people.
21:12We're a people.
21:16United not by ethnicity but by shared convictions.
21:20And that is what makes us exceptional.
21:23And a beacon to the world.
21:25Because see here's the truth that small men like Donald Trump and Mike Collins will never understand.
21:33That our national greatness flows not through our blood or our genes but through our ideas and our care for
21:39one another.
21:42Mike Collins, the bigot congressman.
21:49Surrounded at work and at home by neo-Nazis and white nationalists.
21:57His office briefing America's most notorious white supremacists on their efforts to support a Holocaust denier.
22:07And we've seen some of those records because they leaked but Mike still refuses to release their communications in full.
22:14So let me be clear.
22:15Mike Collins needs to release every email, every text, every call, every single communication between those white supremacists and himself
22:25or his chief of staff or anyone in his office.
22:34And then there's the neo-Nazi propagandist with a million followers producing neo-Nazi propaganda at Mike Collins' house while
22:43producing promotional content for Mike Collins' business.
22:51This is a real thing that happened.
22:55And Mike still refuses to answer whether his business paid the neo-Nazi or if he just accepted the neo
23:01-Nazi services as a gift.
23:04The press asked him and he ran away. Did you see it?
23:08He literally ran away from a press conference.
23:12It was Mike Collins alone standing in a field.
23:15A reporter asks if he paid the neo-Nazi, he won't answer.
23:19Another asks if Mike endorses white nationalism, he won't answer.
23:23Mike literally gets so scared you can see his hand shaking at the podium until he just flees.
23:32A crumbling little bigot.
23:42And the sad spectacle of a collapsing campaign.
23:50Because see, Brian Kemp was right about Mike Collins.
23:54There's a reason Rick Jackson won't commit to campaigning with Mike.
23:59Why Brad Raffensperger won't endorse him.
24:03Why conservative WSB radio host Shelley Winner called Mike a bottom feeder.
24:10Why Coach Dooley condemned Mike's, quote, blatant taxpayer-funded corruption.
24:16And said Mike's, quote, disgusting behavior does not represent Georgia values or frankly any values.
24:23Right.
24:26Why Eric Erickson said that Mike, quote, knowingly hired a sociopath with a criminal record who was alleged to have
24:33used your and my tax dollars to subsidize his girlfriend.
24:37There's a reason one of the founders of the Tea Party said this summer, quote, I cannot in good conscience
24:44vote for Mike Collins.
24:45He is unfit for office.
24:47And warned that Collins would, quote, drag down the whole Republican ticket in Georgia.
24:57There's a reason.
25:00And that reason is Mike Collins is a known bigot under federal investigation for the illegal misuse of tax dollars,
25:07surrounded by neo-Nazis and white nationalists, widely known for his poor character and low integrity,
25:12who voted for war and voted to cut your health care and is unfit for any elected office.
25:26By the way, by the way, if you think what's come out so far about Mike is bad,
25:35believe me, there's more and worse on the way.
25:57Last week, just two weeks after he ran away from the neo-Nazi press conference,
26:08Mike got himself in trouble again when a man named Dominic Box came to a Mike Collins breakfast at a
26:13golf club in Savannah.
26:15Because see, Mr. Box is one of those who helped lead the attack on the Capitol on January 6th.
26:25Convicted on two felony counts, pardoned by Donald Trump on day one.
26:34Never let them forget, they hunted the vice president to kill him.
26:42They built a gallows on the Capitol lawn.
26:45They assaulted police officers with flagpoles and bear spray, and they tried to seize the presidency for Donald Trump.
26:55And to this day, Mike Collins supports that violent attempt to overturn the election.
27:01He honors and defends them.
27:03He went to visit them in jail.
27:07And at that Savannah breakfast last week, Mike told Mr. Box he wants to pay those violent criminals with your
27:15tax dollars.
27:23They tried to seize the presidency.
27:29And here we are in Fulton County where the president sent his spies and his agents to seize your ballots.
27:38And why Georgia? Why this obsession with Fulton County?
27:43It's the same reason he's obsessed with Philly.
27:46It's the same reason he's obsessed with Detroit.
27:50It's because the fact that black voters were instrumental to his defeat offends him even more than the defeat itself.
28:07But how foolish of them to launch an attack on voting rights right here at the political and spiritual center
28:16of the very black history they seek to erase.
28:21And Atlanta, if Donald Trump thinks Georgia voters will be deterred or intimidated from exercising their voting rights after all
28:28that was sacrificed to secure them,
28:31he will be dealt his most resounding defeat yet.
28:48Because Georgia deserves better.
28:53Better than pro-war, pro-tariff, pro-cutting-your-healthcare Trump puppet Mike Collins.
28:59And America deserves better than Donald Trump.
29:07Just think, 250 years on, what the founders would see if they visited us today.
29:19They'd see that slavery had been abolished.
29:23They'd see that Americans without land and then women and then the descendants of slaves had secured voting rights.
29:30They'd see that our science and technology propelled human knowledge to unimaginable heights.
29:36And that those 13 colonies had grown into a superpower that defeated the Nazis and communism.
29:43They'd see a pluralist democracy, people of all colors, descended from every point on earth, stitched together out of many
29:50nations into one.
29:56But they'd also see a nation that at the height of its wealth and power fell into the very traps
30:05they most feared.
30:09Consumed by bitter conflict between factions captured by special interests.
30:14Losing touch with the great national spirit that defeated fascism.
30:19With the spirit that landed men on the moon and passed civil rights laws.
30:23They'd see that we did those great things.
30:26But then we succumb to a small and self-serving politics unmoored from fixed moral principles.
30:34Incapable of great inspiration or national achievement with no real horizon beyond the next election.
30:43In Atlanta, what's required of us now is so much greater than what that small, self-serving politics can muster.
30:54I've got two little girls at home.
30:57Eva's four and Lila's one.
31:00And I'm so grateful to this country for the security and the opportunity it affords them.
31:05But this isn't the world I want to leave them.
31:10Soon enough they'll learn there's now plastic in human blood and breast milk.
31:15That toxic forever chemicals are in half the country's drinking water.
31:21Eva loves animal documentaries and she'll learn that the butterflies are dying off.
31:27She'll ask me why I allowed these things to happen.
31:33She'll learn about the nuclear weapons that still threaten annihilation.
31:38And when you step back and consider it, the situation is absurd.
31:44Tech titans dig bunkers and warn us the new intelligence they're training could lead to mass joblessness or human extinction.
31:53And our Congress debates ballrooms and youth sports.
31:59We've amassed enough firepower to end the world a thousand times over.
32:03But we can't summon the will to guarantee health care and pre-K.
32:08I say all this to say that it's the crushing weakness of our politics against the unmet needs of our
32:15people
32:16and the massive stakes of our times that's shaking our faith in the future.
32:23But Atlanta, I refuse to leave my girls a world as dark and dangerous and cruel as this one threatens
32:28to become.
32:31See, when Eva...
32:44When Eva's old enough to ask me why I let this happen, I'm determined to answer truthfully that I didn't.
32:58I'll tell her how the same year she turned five, Georgia stood up all together all at once and said
33:05enough is enough.
33:14I'll tell her how we overcame every doubt and dirty trick not just to win but to set a new
33:20course for our state and our country and our world.
33:23Because Atlanta, our power's right there just waiting for us to pick it up and use it.
33:29And a wave is building.
33:32The kind of wave that comes once a generation when the people have been pushed too far.
33:37And they decide all together all at once to say what?
33:42Enough is enough.
33:45The poll is open in eight weeks, Atlanta.
33:48Eight weeks.
33:50Atlanta, are you ready to work?
33:52Yeah!
33:54Atlanta, are you ready to win?
33:56Yeah!
33:58God bless you.
33:59Let's get it done.
34:01Thank you so much.
34:03Thanks for coming.
34:06Thanks for coming.
