00:09Hello and welcome, I'm Sonal Merotra Kapoor and this is 5 Live.
00:13On the program today, a couple of stories that demand your attention.
00:17Number one, we begin with the statements made by Kiran Rajiju,
00:20who has defended the way Delhi police handled the protests at Jantar Mantar.
00:26He's saying no serious injuries took place, not a single bone was cragged, nobody lost their life.
00:33How do these statements by the minister stand against the reality on the ground?
00:39We'll do a fact check.
00:41Then on the program, we've got Bihar students who are now agitating over a recruitment delay.
00:47In Jharkhand, protests had just lifted when Bihar for jobs now protests have started.
00:54What exactly is going on there?
00:56What are the key demands?
00:57We'll get you all of those stories on the program.
01:00And then, there is the major rejig that is happening in BJP's IT cell.
01:06But what led to an almost clean up of timelines of the newly appointed IT cell heads?
01:13What happened that they had to clear out all their timeline?
01:17All the past tweets they have had, all the past posts they wrote as well.
01:23We'll look into those allegations and details.
01:26And then, coming to us from UP, as the election heat there is already building up,
01:34people are making plans across party lines on, it should be a Gen Z-centric, you know, approach or not.
01:42There is a game plan that has been devised by the Samajwadi party.
01:47And what exactly is that?
01:49We'll help bringing you some details on that as well.
01:53But first up, as always, let's start by bringing you the top headlines on Top of 5.
01:59Tarkhan student activist, Divendranath Mahato, ends his hunger strike after Surane government has agreed to cancel the GSSC GSL exam.
02:08But other set of protests against exam irregularities, they continue with the protests now insisting,
02:14the protesters also insisting on their CBI probe demand.
02:21Supreme Court is to act against the crackdown against students during the 20th of July.
02:27Jantar Mantar protest says it will set up a high-powered committee to examine allegations of police successes.
02:34Delhi police has defended its action, insists on no excess force was used.
02:40No end to the Vande Mataram controversy, only two stanzas played at Congress event in Goa.
02:46In the presence of party chief Mr. Karge, BJP has launched a fierce attack now, saying Congress is governed by
02:53Dimagi Naksal ecosystem.
02:55Congress has hit back saying, well, only two paragraphs play in Parliament as well.
03:01Another day, another personal attack on a woman in the name of politics.
03:05This is Union Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy, questions Sonia Gandhi's loyalties over Vande Mataram Rao.
03:12Says Italian blood runs through her veins.
03:14Congress slams insult, maintains Sonia has sacrificed a lot for the nation.
03:21Talking about women, Trisha has been dragged into Tamil Nadu politics yet again.
03:26DMK mouthpiece has now slammed Chief Minister Vijay over the presence of actor in the stands during the Independence Day
03:33event.
03:34They've called it vulgar and disgusting.
03:39The SIT probing the Ram Mandir Chandachori has now given a clean chit to former Trust General Champat Rai probe
03:48into the alleged role of former Minister Anil Mishra.
03:51Meanwhile, that continues.
03:54Rescue and relief operations in Chamoli conclude after the tunnel had collapsed over there.
04:00Body of the last person has now been recovered, taking the final death toll to 10.
04:07Shocking double murder from Bengaluru.
04:09Woman allegedly killed her husband and her four-year-old son with her lover.
04:15Both are accused.
04:16And now they have been arrested.
04:20Big relief for former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan.
04:24Country's Supreme Court has ordered he be transferred to a hospital from jail where he has been languishing for over
04:30three years.
04:33And finally, US President Donald Trump has hailed India's election process.
04:37Recalling meeting with the CEC, Gyanesh Kumar, and the fact 99% of Indian voters had a valid photo ID
04:45document.
04:46Congress has now taken a jive asking Trump to take Gyanesh Kumar and the EVMs with him to the United
04:53States.
04:59It's been nearly a month since the CJP protests at Jantar Mantar and the government has, you know, as well
05:06as the police, have both clarified the crackdown on protesters.
05:10But today, a remark came from Union Minister Kiran Rajiju, who has come out in strong defence of the Delhi
05:17police.
05:17He said that no protesters suffered a serious injury during the Jantar Mantar protests and claimed that criminals infiltrating the
05:24gathering and incited violence.
05:27Delhi police has filed a detailed affidavit, remember, before the Supreme Court.
05:31In the affidavit, Delhi police claimed that about 5,000 policemen were deployed and over 30,000 protesters had, you
05:38know, graded force was used as mob turned violent.
05:43Delhi police also claims that the protests turned violent after barricades were breached.
05:49They further claim that anti-social elements and history-sheeters infiltrated the protests and the massive mob was trying to
05:57mob towards the parliament while the monsoon session was underway.
06:01All these claims made by the Delhi police earlier, statements made by them today, got a validation from the Union
06:10Minister, Mr. Rajiju.
06:12Many on social media were upset and angry and fact-checked him on what exactly, where was the use of
06:19pellet guns, for example.
06:20But that's not the only protest that was spoken about today.
06:24The minister also spoke about Bihar police.
06:27Remember that AK-47 incident?
06:29Bihar police told the Apex Court that a mob trapped an AK-47-wielding constable and then he fired four
06:36rounds in the air to disperse the crowd.
06:37The constable has been suspended and a probe is currently underway.
06:42Meanwhile, the top court is listening.
06:46While these statements come from the minister, the top court is already listening in to these allegations.
06:52What did they do when the matter came up before the Supreme Court today?
06:56They vowed to constitute a committee conspiring a former Supreme Court judge, a former Chief Justice of the High Court
07:04and a senior retired police officer to actually investigate.
07:09Investigate the excessive use of force amid the protests.
07:13Was it valid? Was it not?
07:14So what exactly led to the police crackdown and was the force truly required?
07:20Here's more.
07:26Nearly a month after the crackdown on violent CGP protesters across the nation, the personnel who took on the protesters
07:34are presenting their version in the Supreme Court, explaining just why they used force.
07:42These affidavits by the state police come after petitions sought court-monitored probe into the alleged brutal use of force
07:50by police in different states.
07:55Delhi police has filed a detailed affidavit, while Bihar police has also clarified on the AK-47 firing incident.
08:04Delhi police in its affidavit has defended the use of force and claimed that while the right to peaceful protest
08:11is a fundamental right, the protests that began from Jantar Mantar turned violent.
08:20Delhi police also stated that personnel on the ground exercised maximum restraint while using only the minimum required force to
08:29control thousands of protesters.
08:32The police also maintains that anti-social elements and history-sheeters infiltrated the protests, while the mob was turning violent
08:40and marching towards the parliament.
08:48Union Minister Kiran Rijiju has also come out in strong defence of the Delhi police.
08:54Rijiju said that not a single person was harmed.
08:57Not a single person suffered a broken bone.
09:00Not even one protester is in the hospital with a serious injury.
09:21In an exclusive interview with India today, Rijiju had lauded Delhi police for handling such a massive protest without allowing
09:29even a single serious injury.
09:33he was the police executive.
09:35They say that they don't know the response to the government.
09:39Do not understand that someone is driven by the police.
09:42But when someone has driven by the police, where is the police?
09:46Then where do you think someone is driven by the police?
09:48The pellet guns are in hundreds of hundreds of hundreds of miles.
09:55How does it feel like a man from being a police?
09:56The pellet guns are not a one enemy.
10:00An AK-47 wielding cough firing shots became one of the most defining images of this CJP
10:07stir in Bihar's Siwan.
10:09Now Bihar police told the apex court that a mob had trapped constable holding AK-47 and
10:17then he fired four rounds in the air to disperse the crowd.
10:24The STF constable is already suspended and investigation is underway.
10:31Meanwhile top court has vowed to constitute a committee comprising a former Supreme Court
10:37judge, a former Chief Justice of a High Court and a senior retired police officer to investigate
10:43the excessive use of force amid the protests.
10:45Bureau Report, India Today.
10:53Alright, my colleague Shishti Ojha joins us now.
10:55She was in the Supreme Court when the entire matter was being discussed as well.
10:59So Shishti it's been an interesting day.
11:01On one hand we had fresh claims, allegations one can call it made by Minister Rijiju and
11:09on the other hand the facts were being discussed inside the Supreme Court.
11:13Tell us what compelled the Supreme Court to say that a committee should be found.
11:17Would it be fair to say that they do see merit in the case which is why they want an
11:24expert
11:24panel to go down to the details, understand if excessive force was used at all?
11:31Well Sonal, the Supreme Court definitely thinks that this matter needs to be looked into.
11:36Now why, how did they reach that conclusion?
11:38Since the first hearing we have seen there were multiple petitions which have been filed
11:43with multi-fold allegations.
11:44On one side we see the protestors have made allegations against the police officials for
11:49use of force.
11:50There are police officials who have said that they were assaulted by protestors.
11:54There are a batch of police also questioning the use of pellet guns, facial recognition by
11:59Delhi police etc.
12:00Considering that there are several allegations, the top court has orally till now during the
12:05hearings remarked that it is not possible for the Supreme Court to determine what actually
12:09happened.
12:10A fair thing to do would be to get all these allegations probed into and again an impartial
12:15manner of doing that could be through a high powered committee.
12:18Every hearing the court has mentioned that they are considering constituting a high powered
12:23committee.
12:23Today finally they have said that they will be passing an official order most likely tomorrow
12:29constituting this high powered committee which will look into each and every allegation
12:34which are being made as part of this particular case considering the protests that happened.
12:39in different states not just in Delhi but in different states as well.
12:43Now as we know Bihar police, Delhi police they have maintained that there was no aggressive
12:48force used.
12:49Only the required amount of force which was required to control the crowd which had gotten
12:54violent was used by them.
12:56So as of now the Supreme Court has indicated that it will ask the HPC to probe into each and
13:05every aspect of the allegation make sure that the affected parties and victims are heard
13:09properly.
13:10Once they give in their recommendations the top court will then consider what directions
13:15need to be issued.
13:16So the top court is very clearly taking this matter very seamlessly and in all likelihood we
13:21can expect an order regarding constitution with all the members name to be out by tomorrow.
13:27Back to you.
13:28All right.
13:29So the detailed order yet to be seen but interesting to see how Supreme Court has captured all aspects
13:33not just buried guns but also the video, you know, the video, the videography of the entire
13:40event, the face mapping and several other aspects.
13:43All of it will perhaps not be just about what BJP says or what CJP says or what Congress says
13:49anymore.
13:50There will be a high powered committee to look into all aspects of that story.
13:56Let's move on.
14:02And this is regarding the Rao over AK-47 incident in Bihar.
14:08Now post that and on a day when Kiran Rajiju actually, the unit minister Kiran Rajiju actually
14:14stood by those remarks as well.
14:19We now hearing that a massive reshuffle of IPS officers is taking place in Bihar.
14:24The SPs there which is a superintendent of police in several districts have been transferred.
14:29The Siwan SP, the exact area where that incident had taken place.
14:33Puran Kumar Jha has been transferred following the AK-47 shooting incident.
14:38Remember, it was not him.
14:39It was one of his constables who had been caught on camera that you see on your screen over there.
14:43But his, the SP of the area has also been transferred.
14:47He has been sent to Bihar Police Headquarters.
14:50Patna awaiting a new posting as SP.
14:54So critical details over there.
14:55Shashi Bhushan joins us live from Patna for more details on that story.
15:00Shashi ji, kafi interesting hai.
15:02Aad subha hi Kiran Rajiju nne kaha kuchh garbar nnehi hua hai.
15:05Lekin Bihar mein usi sham ko sabka tabadla ho gya.

18:03in Bihar schools for thousands of candidates who have spent months preparing for this the issue is
18:09no longer simply about the exam date they want to know how long they will be kept waiting for the
18:16recruitment process that they say has already been promised repeatedly but no action really takes
18:22place on the ground the government well the government and the BPSC are now under mounting
18:27pressure students are demanding the resignation directly and like I said there's a deadline
18:3124 hours else they will get out the education minister's house now responding to that the you
18:39know all the allegations that we have heard he has said that the students should focus on their
18:45studies prepare for TRE 4 instead of protesting those are the remarks of the education minister in Bihar

21:47Shashi Bhushan is back with us for this story as well.
21:51Shashi ji, if you listen to the education minister,
21:54if you listen to the education minister,
21:55there is no difference between the protests.
21:58They are saying, why are you doing this?
22:00It will happen, stop.
22:02There is no difference between the deadline.
22:05So, the rest of the country,
22:07the ministers, the BJP,
22:10who were taking a long time,
22:13they stopped.
22:14Is this thing not yet reached to Bihar?
22:17That's why they are seeing such a support.
22:26If the minister was very confident,
22:28then the result was revealed.
22:30I reported on the ground report,
22:31it was about 12.00.
22:35It was about 12.00.
22:37It was about 12.00.
22:37It was about 12.00.
22:40It was about 13.00.
22:42It was about 13.00.
22:43It was about 13.00.
22:50It was about 13.00.
22:52It was about 13.00.
22:53It was about 13.00.
22:53It was about 13.00.
22:54It was becoming an expert on TRE-4,
22:57and it was about 13.00.
22:58It was about 17.00.
23:00It was about 17.00.
23:00Just a few minutes.
23:05It was about 16.00.
23:06It was about 16.00.
23:07That's 18.00.
23:07It was about 18.00.
23:07It the same way,
23:10but it was about 13.00,
23:10It has been about 18.00.
23:10There is no reason here,
23:11by the time there,
23:11that they will kick off our election,
23:13and the researchers will give out
23:41I will do it, and I will protest.
24:13Thank you very much.
24:21Thank you very much.
29:56question at the moment on social media is about the timelines of this entire IT cell of the BJP
30:03being wiped out overnight. All their posts that were made earlier, some sort of not in the best
30:13language as well, some very very disturbing as well, they have mysteriously vanished from their
30:22timelines. What exactly happened and what were those posts? There are them who took screenshots.
30:29Here's a report.
30:35The Gen Z uprising, a war of narratives, a mad rush to ace the algorithm game. And BJP, which saw
30:44itself
30:45bleeding, has gone ahead with a bold new move, revamping its digital machine, removing its IT
30:52cell head Amit Malwya. And naming Deepak Mashke as its new social media convener.
31:11Mashke, he has a strong data analytical figure in his home state of Chhattasgarh and his career
31:16has been unconventional, to say the least. A master's degree in chemistry, a diploma in cement
31:23technology, training in computer programming, and even a teaching stint. Mashke has done it all.
31:30The reshuffle comes weeks after Cockroach Junta party protests put the spotlight on the BJP's so-called
31:36disconnect with young voters. BJP's new social media team will certainly seek to make greater use
31:42of platforms like Instagram to engage with Gen Z.
31:46The social media platform is changing every day. We need to be updated. What are the content going on,
31:53the narratives, what are the directions going on. We need to be directed. And the right people,
31:59the right people, who are the desired people, are the desired people. They need to reach Gen Z,
32:04who will reach Gen X, who will reach Gen X, who will reach our wives. They need to be categorized,
32:10who will reach Gen Z. And they need to be compared to Gen Z. And they need to be able
32:16to get better.
32:19Mashke will lead a new team of co-conveners, Freeti Gandhi, Siwanand Divedi, Alok Bhatt and Arunyadav.
32:27But it's the digital footprint of two of them making headlines. The ex-account of Freeti Gandhi and Alok Bhatt
32:34went dark.
32:35Timelines showing no visible posts and searches for recent activity are turning up empty.
32:40The unexplained disappearance has triggered a wave of speculation and buzz online,
32:45with users and political watchers questioning what prompted the sudden blackout.
32:50Many are calling it a bid to screen some of their earlier posts.
32:54BJP has been forced to go back to the drawing board to connect with the youth.
32:58And Deepak Mashke has his work cut out for him.
33:01With Piyush Mishra, Bureau Report, India Today.
33:07All right, interesting indeed.
33:09A lot of people have already taken screenshots and are questioning what were those missing tweets after all.
33:15But let's step away from that and move on to UP for a minute.
33:19With the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly poll still months away,
33:23the Samajwadi Party has begun a Booth-level push to expand its voter base.
33:27What are they asking?
33:29They are asking Booth-level agents to add at least five new voters,
33:34read Gen Z, to every Booth.
33:36The strategy is aimed at strengthening the Samajwadi Party's grassroots network and building on its performance in the 2024 Lok
33:45Sabha elections.
33:46The Samajwadi Party Chief, Akhle Shadav, has repeatedly stressed on the importance of Booth management,
33:51the voter list verification and also appointing reliable BLAs in the meetings with party workers.
33:57Uttar Pradesh, remember, has around 1.77 lakh polling booths.
34:03Even a target of five new voters per booth, that is five new Gen Z per booth,
34:08would translate into nearly 9 lakh additional voters on the party's outreach list.
34:13But Samajwadi Party sources say that the real calculation goes beyond five, actually.
34:19According to party's internal reasoning over here,
34:23one new voter could influence other members of the same family.
34:27Remember how similarly Gen Z is trying to talk in the Boomers and Gen X and even Gen Alpha into
34:34the conversation?
34:36Same strategy.
34:37With an average family size of around five, adding five voters at Booth could potentially bring around 25 people into
34:44the party's fold.
34:45That's their calculation at the moment.
34:48Now, the sources say that Booth-level workers are visiting households,
34:52informing voters about Samajwadi Party's government's work,
34:55and focusing on issues that they believe could work against the BJP,
34:59jobs being one of them,
35:01including examination paper leaks and the alleged misuse of donations collected for Ram Temple.
35:10So, lots happening in UP, and there is indeed a lot of focus on Gen Z as well, and also
35:18Gen Alpha.
35:19But moving away from all those issues,
35:21what are our parliamentarians really debating at the moment?
35:25They are talking about Wande Matram.
35:27The political row over Congress' alleged disrespect of Wande Matram during an Independence Day event has intensified.
35:34Now, BJP has launched a massive attack on Congress over reciting only the first two stanzas of Wande Matram at
35:40the party event in Goa.
35:41This was done in the presence of Congress President Mr. Kargi, of course,
35:44and the Saffron Party has alleged that Congress didn't like anything that was patriotic
35:49and was following Sonia Gandhi into insulting the national song.
35:56Now, after Amit Shah accused Sonia Gandhi of disrespecting the national song,
35:59Congress President Mr. Kargi had rebutted Union Minister, the Home Minister there,
36:04telling him to not lecture the Grand Old Party on patriotism.
36:08Amit Shah has, meanwhile, escalated the showdown.
36:11After alleging that Sonia Gandhi had asked for Wande Matram to be stopped,
36:16he warned that Congress and that Congress, country, would not forgive its sins over the national song.
36:54The President of the Congress, the President of the United States,
37:01foreign
37:20if this is what the
37:24Congress Party is doing to the great national song Vande Mataram, then you better stop claiming
37:31monopoly as the custodian of freedom movement.
37:54Yes, Amit Shah abhi utha nahi tha, unka kitna 57, 58 hai kitna hai, yasab 56-9 sall wale hai,
38:08ara dhesh ke hazadhi ke liye hai, humare log lade, tum lade,

38:24hazadhi ke lada hai,
38:26aur humko dheshvakti sikhaate ho dhu, hum dheshvakti nahi hai, ye log dhesh ke khilaaf hai, anti-India, aray anti
38:38-India toh tum hai, anti-religion tum hai,
38:41Guru Ravindna Tegor jodh Somp ke gahe te, 1904 mein, woh 1904 se lagataar kongres, chalati a rhi hai, in
38:52ko naya-naya Vande Mataram se preem hua hai,
38:55inho ne kubhi Vande Mataram nii kaha, jubi ye lik hua ta, aur dousri baat, baon sal tuk ye, tiranga
39:03ni phairate te,
39:05toh ye sab cheeze jo hai, ye sab yad hai logo ko, ye vande Mataram ka aad lhe karke, apni

39:23ye shant nini honne wala hai, ye nafrat ke ajande chala karke, apne bohut dekh li hai.
39:29All right, and in other news, heavy rain continued to affect daily life across the country.
39:34Let's quickly give you a check on the situation across the nation.
39:39We'll start with Dehradun, where six students were stranded near Dehradun's Swarna River.
39:44After heavy rains caused the water level to rise, the SDRF team trekked nearly six kilometers
39:50through difficult terrain to reach them. All six students were safely rescued.
39:56The Tamsa River near Dehradun's Tapkeshwar temple also took a fierce turn.
40:01The rising water disrupted the connecting road for nearly an hour.

41:13Bihar LOP, Tejasvi Yadav at the BPSC protest site.
41:17Tejasvi Yadav has rained fire at the Bihar government.
41:21He says the biggest loss is borne by the citizens, the students and the teachers.
41:26And unless we receive proper education, how will Bihar really progress?
41:31If there is no education, how can Bihar move forward is what he's saying.
41:34He also says that you have protested, you have faced lati charges as well, including imprisonment.
41:41But I salute those who were beaten and those who went to jail.
41:45So, Tejasvi Yadav, they're joining in the protest.
41:46Remember, just now in this bulletin, while we were highlighting the entire reason of protest to you,
41:51we heard that one of the key demands of the aspiring job seekers has been met.
41:58The notification for 32,000 jobs has been released.
42:02What was the government waiting for earlier?
42:03We do not know.
42:04But that has been released.
42:06Meanwhile, Tejasvi Yadav is there at the spot, giving his support to the job seekers.
42:12Listen in.
42:14The government has been released.
42:42foreign
42:51foreign
43:19so those are the details that are just coming in while Tejasri Adav continues to be on that site
43:26our reporter there on ground confirming that the notification for that 32,000 job has been
43:33released by the government at this point the online applications inviting candidates have
43:41been opened the total number of seats at the moment are 32,388 vacancies under the recruitment process
43:48which are now open which is what the primary demand of the job seekers was and according to the
43:53notification issued by the commission the online application process for TRE 4 will commence from
43:59the 1st of September 2026 candidates will be able to apply online until September 30th 2026 it's a
44:08big win for all those job seekers who were protesting there in Bihar and were asking for immediate
44:16reaction and immediate response from the education minister
44:23all right that seems to be the trend you want something done you have to sit on fast you have
44:28to protest on the street that's at least the trend for now for us
44:36so me can you say betty had a bit of butter but the butter was bitter bitter so betty had
44:39some more butter to make the bitter butter better
44:40what are you eating neutralite and light butter and thinking that calories are reduced in this
44:44well it's time we educate you on a bit of butter
44:49for this video we have spoken with dietitian Hrithika Sabadaar she is the regional head south
44:53zone nutrition and dietetics at max super sociality hospital in sakit so we are done with understanding
44:58oils let's understand butter so which one is actually better and are any of them butter at all
45:06same fragile muscle hota hai same bitch hai ki donon mein fat cum hai guilti cum hona chahi hai you
45:11probably assumed that they were two versions of the same thing the reality is they are poles apart
45:16science pe jane se pehle label samajhte hai let's start with neutralite so neutralite jo hai hi apne
45:21packaging peh claim karta hai ki this is zero cholesterol this is zero trans fat this is zero
45:25hydrogenated fat as well they're also saying they're rich in moofa and poofa rich in omega-3
45:30now amulite on the other hand has a very specific pitch as well they call themselves delicious creamy
45:36spread without worrying about calories so they are saying zero fat zero cholesterol as well zero
45:41vegetable oil as well both are talking cholesterol and fat profile so if you read the front of the
45:46packaging you will assume that you're choosing between two versions of the same science
45:50but you're not let's start with understanding the difference in the calorie count agar ap regular
45:55butter use kar rahe hai us mein karibb 100 gram mein 722 calories hota hai agar ap amul light le
46:00hai is mein 615 calories hota hai per 100 grams which is about 15 percent less and neutralite jo hai
46:07is mein roughly hoti hai 634 calories per 100 grams what actually is inside both of them let's start with
46:13amul light amul light is dairy it is milk fat it is reformulated amul light contains no vegetable oil
46:20you know in honne choote se claim ki saaf upar likha bhi hai but neutralite on the other hand it's
46:24just margarine yeh margarine ka marjora kya hai smaj neklai is ki ingredient list padhi hai ingredient
46:29list pe java ab dekhenge which is on the back of the pack you understand that the largest ingredient
46:33here is actually edible vegetable oil it's got palm oil it's got palm kernel oil it's called sunflower oil
46:38sesame oil so to answer the question are any of them really butter well butter is defined by
46:45if you say ci is anything that has 80 percent milk fat which both of them do not amul light
46:53has about
46:5365 percent milk fat so they cannot call themselves butter and it doesn't it says milk fat bread spread
47:01over here similarly neutralite is not butter at all because it's coming from vegetable fat and thus it
47:07says so it calls itself very simply vegetable fat spread and this is then clearly margarine both of
47:15them are engineered to taste like butter but they are not butter at all
