00:03That's for Tuesday the 11th of August. Starting off with a synoptic map and we
00:08can see a cold front and low pressure system moving away from southeast
00:11Australia. It will still be quite windy and flooding is expected in some areas
00:15so do be sure to watch our dedicated severe weather update video that will
00:19be available later on Monday afternoon and as always do check for the latest
00:22warnings. Rainy showers easing through the day but another cold front moves
00:26through the bite pushing showers into South Australia into the afternoon
00:29reaching Western Victoria and Western Tasmania as we head into the evening
00:34with another burst of showers and gusty winds. Behind it though clearing quickly
00:37another high pressure system builds over Western Australia that will exert its
00:41dominance all the way towards the top end and northern Queensland so will be a
00:45dry and mostly sunny day right across northern Australia. So now state by state
00:49looks starting off with Queensland. A possible shower about the Garry Coast
00:52clearing by dawn and patchy fog is possible along the coast north of that
00:56Mackay but that will be followed by a dry and mostly sunny day right across the
01:00state. Fresh westerly winds in the south otherwise light south easterly winds
01:05elsewhere temperatures pretty close to average for this time of year. For
01:08Brisbane a sunny top of 25 degrees mostly sunny up in Cairns with a maximum of
01:1328. Now to New South Wales. Cloud and showers will bank up across the
01:16western side of the Great Dividing Range from the morning and with those
01:20downslope winds it will be very windy along the coastline. Those showers are
01:23gradually contracted way through the day and by night time really only be
01:26across the southwest slopes. Otherwise we're expecting a pretty cool day right
01:30across the New South Wales and the ACT. For Sydney it will be windy sunny
01:34though top of 21 degrees. A possible shower in Canberra reaching a top of 13
01:38degrees. Now to Victoria we'll see some patchy showers through the south and the
01:42east of the morning. Isolated areas of snow across Alpine areas. Very windy
01:46though across eastern parts of Gippsland. Those showers will gradually ease into the
01:50afternoon but then redevelop later in the day as the next cold front approaches
01:54from the southwest and we'll see those showers sweeping across southern and
01:57eastern Victoria overnight Tuesday and into Wednesday. Otherwise it will be a
02:01fairly cool day. Melbourne a possible late shower 14 degrees. Cloudy up in
02:05Mildura with a maximum of 16. Now to Tasmania we'll see a little bit of patchy
02:09fog in the morning across inland areas. A few showers possible also about the
02:13western ranges but then we will see those showers picking up through the day as the
02:17next cold front approaches. We can see here showers building along the west coast
02:20and into the evening reaching the northern areas and also along the south
02:24coast as well. But it will be a fairly mild day before that cold front moves
02:27through. So for Hobart partly cloudy 15 degrees. Slight chance of a late shower
02:31and also possible late showers right along the north coast of Tasmania. Now
02:35looking at South Australia we'll see cloud wind and rain building through the day as
02:39that cold front approaches from the west. We'll see showers picking up across the
02:42Eyre Peninsula and Kangaroo Island from the afternoon and then moving across
02:45Adelaide and the southeast of the state into the evening. We could also see some
02:49thunderstorms along the south coast and also through the Flinders Ranges. Moderate
02:53rainfall totals are possible along parts of the southern Eyre Peninsula. Up to 20
02:57millimeters is possible. Generally though looking at one to five millimeters
03:00elsewhere and once that cold front moves through that will shift to a very cold
03:04a south westerly wind behind that. So Adelaide partly cloudy. Slight chance of a
03:09shower through the day but that's more likely into the evening reaching a top
03:12of 17 degrees to the high teens and low 20s across northern parts of South
03:16Australia. Now to Western Australia we'll see those showers clearing away from the
03:20goldfields and also to the Eucla later in the morning. But we'll see some
03:24showers sticking around the south coast and also the southwest on an easing
03:28trend through the day. But otherwise we'll see those cold south westerly winds
03:31behind that cold front. Temperatures up to 10 degrees below average to the
03:34goldfields. Just 13 degrees in Kalgoorlie. A cold side in Perth. Possible
03:38shower at the coast in the morning but then partly cloudy top of 17 degrees to
03:42follow. And through the Pilbara temperatures reaching the low to mid 20s.
03:46Finally across northern Australia really not much change compared to the last
03:49few days but later in the day as that cold front and trough move through winds
03:53will shift around to become colder south westerly. But otherwise it will be a dry
03:56and sunny day right across the northern territory and also northern parts of
04:00Western Australia. So for Darwin a sunny top of 30 degrees and reaching the high
04:0420s to mid 30s across the Kimberley. That's your forecast for today. Stay up
