Nocturnal and coffee-loving, the new frog species discovered in Costa Rica

A new frog species discovered in Costa Rica has found its ideal habitat in coffee plantations, but also faces risks from the agrochemicals used to protect the beans. Measuring less than four centimeters, these amphibians were found in Costa Rica's central Pacific region. Amid the vegetation, their dark, large, irregular spots stand out on their backs, and yellow-orange markings on their limbs.
