00:00I watched that and I saw the the camera angles tonight of the Red Sox walk off when remarkable historic
00:07season unprecedented never to be done again.
00:10And I think about what it must have been like in Chicago for a White Sox extra innings game this
00:16year or in Tampa or Kansas City.
00:19And I watch a full Fenway Park full throated losing their ever loving minds standing from the ninth through the
00:2713th like it was the ale freaking CS.
00:30And I say why would we give up this advantage of this massive reservoir of support and love that the
00:38Red Sox fans give spending on average 200 bucks a ticket 50 bucks for lobster poutine and enjoying that comeback
00:47when what this team has done where it is and what it's doing.
00:50I just I am in awe of the Boston sports fan.
00:54I think what you guys have done at Fenway is create an absolute massive home field advantage despite the fact
01:02that they won 11 games in the first 40 there.
01:04Now they can't lose at Fenway Park.
01:06This is going to be when the Patriots are great.
01:09We love it.
01:10Bruins Celtics all of that.
01:12When the Red Sox are on a heater like this and it's every night and it's the summer, it just
01:16changes the entire mood of Boston.
01:18Yeah, it elevates.
01:20Everyone, it makes everything feel yesterday was a little cooler because they were winning.
01:24Maybe it was hot because they were hot.
01:26Yeah, well, I mean, you're talking 1130 at night.
01:29People have kids that they got to get home and take care of it.
01:33People got to get up and go and work on the job site.
01:37And you're absolutely right, Curtis.
01:38They're all there.
01:39They're all standing up.
01:41They all believe and this team refuses to die.
01:45It's like a completely different mindset than it was just a month and a half ago.
01:50So it's just awesome.
01:52It's incredible.
01:53And Chad Tracy should lose the interim tag today.
01:56Take that off him.
01:57And you want to bump in salary or just keep him out?
02:00Give him a little bump.
02:00Give him a little bump there.
02:0250 bucks a win.
02:02Okay.
02:03Yeah, it's that's eight in a row for the Red Sox.
02:08Another streak has begun and a sweep of this series against a good team.
02:15And you're you're absolutely rolling.
02:18And I, you know, I guess I'll keep apologizing to Breslow.
02:23I mean, I was very gracious yesterday.
02:26And, you know, he didn't mind that he didn't mind me continuing and apologizing for apologizing
02:32for a minute or two.
02:33But the guy gets gets a lot of credit.
02:36He deserves a lot of credit, gets a lot of I mean, listen, you look at Durbin and the walk
02:42off and the way he's been playing, not only defensively, but offensively.
02:45Um, and that's a, that's a, that is Breslow who made that trade.
02:49You asked a good question beforehand, the expectations and what people, people, how people are going
02:56to feel, you know, it seems like they're going to make the playoffs, but if they don't make
03:01it all the way to the ALCS or if they don't make it to the world series or if they,
03:05you
03:05know, get bumped in, you know, the first round, you asked a good question and that is going
03:10to be very interesting to see how people react.
03:13I feel like we're kind of playing with house money at this point.
03:16And if you want to bring up the Bruins situation and their epic downfall, the difference is
03:20that we're in reverse right now, right?
03:22The Red Sox already sucked and then came all the way back.
03:25Like if you start the season hot and you have this massive fall off, that's when you
03:29lose fans.
03:30The fact that we were so low and we're at where we are right now, we're playing with
03:33house money.
03:34And I wonder if a lot of fans think like that, that's going to be, or if they, you know,
03:38think like me, well, now I expect this team to have a deep playoff run.
03:42And if they don't, I'll be disappointed.
03:44And I'll be pointing to a, you know, whose head should roll because of why you didn't.
03:50And I think it's really, you think if somebody will get fired, no, no, no, I'm not getting
03:54fired, but who heads roll.
03:56Well, heads roll means like, who is the one I'm going to be pointing at and aiming my frustration
04:02and hostility towards it's either the manager or the players up first.
04:06Well, Greg, we got to start with that crazy, crazy finish to the Red Sox game last night.
04:11That was one of the more wild games I've seen in baseball in quite some time.
04:15It is insane.
04:16You're down in the ninth, down in the 10th, down in the 11th, down in the 12th.
04:22And Derby walks it off for you.
04:26The hero we all needed.
04:27The Derby maker.
04:28And they just, they do it over and over and over again.
04:31They find ways to win.
04:34They used to find ridiculous, never done before ways to lose.
04:38Now they find ways to win, but go ahead.
04:40It really is unbelievable though, Greg.
04:42Like they, they were the worst team in baseball losing, not tagging up.
04:45They didn't know how many outs there were on a nightly basis.
04:48They couldn't challenge a pitch.
04:51Dead last in the freaking challenge system.
04:54I mean, it's unbelievable.
04:55It's, I, we are going to look, just remember this.
04:59We are going to look back when we're in the nursing home and say, we were alive when.
05:07Just think about that.
05:08Go ahead.
05:08Anyway, what?
05:09You could be in the nursing home during.
05:10Yes, it might happen.
05:12Could happen.
05:12Well, Chad Tracy, the interim manager, and as Curtis pointed out, probably should have that
05:16interim tag pulled and become the full-time manager of your Boston Red Sox.
05:19Spoke after the game and was asked about where this game kind of ranks all the time for him
05:24as a guy who's seen a lot of baseball.
05:25You've seen a lot of baseball games.
05:27Can you talk about it that way?
05:28It ranks at the top of the list, I'd say.
05:33You guys can ask me questions about the game.
05:34I don't know if I'll quite remember what inning certain things happened.
05:37It was unbelievable.
05:39They, they just did not want to lose.
05:41So it was, it was incredible.
05:43You brought it up earlier, Curtis Fenway faithful there till the bitter end at 1130.
05:49And it's a hundred degrees in there and everybody's standing up and it's just, it's a great time
05:55to be alive.
05:56There is no better place on the planet to do this.
05:59Like we take it for granted, but the wave, there was times when, um, do you remember the
06:062008 season?
06:08They had just won in 07.
06:09It was the ALCS against the Rays.
06:12They were down three games to one.
06:13And there was, I think it was game five or game six, where they were down eight runs in
06:16the seventh inning and they came back and Francona said after the game, he's like, there
06:20are some nights, it just Fenway lifts us to things that we couldn't do.
06:25And that was one of those nights where it was like, even you're down five to two, then
06:30you tie it at five to five and then you're down and then you, then they get the two run
06:33bomb on the top of the 10th.
06:35You tie it in the bottom of the 10th.
06:35Like the crowd was not going to let that team quit.
06:39But yeah, it was just awesome.
06:42And it's, it's guy after guy after guy.
06:44It's not like you point to, you know, one guy, it, uh, Texter says, Brian Bayo looks like
06:51a different human being, right?
06:53He's remarkable out of the pen.
06:55It is stunning.
06:56It is one of the most stunning transformations I've ever seen in my life where he goes from
07:00a starter who cannot get out of the first inning, right?
07:03Giving up a bomb.
07:04And then all of a sudden comes out of the bullpen and is an absolute, which is, which is
07:07maybe he's baby Papelbon, right?
07:10Which is crazy because you would think as a start of the first inning, there's really
07:14not that much pressure on you.
07:16But generally when you come out of the bullpen, you're in a pressure situation, you know,
07:21some guys, you know, and maybe he takes it to, maybe he's too lackadaisical in the first
07:25inning.
07:25Oh, it's unbelievable.
07:27All right.
