00:00and then uh tonight we've got a real big one between san diego and arizona and uh arizona's
00:07got some cakey schedule coming up here so san diego really needs to get this one i mean there's
00:13a possibility i was thinking about this joe that with arizona playing colorado at home next week
00:20that a week from now we could look it's going to be far from done but we could be looking
00:26at the
00:26diamondbacks opening up a pretty significant wild card lead based on their schedule so
00:31something just to keep an eye on here as we move forward well it's interesting and by the way uh
00:38if you folks keeping score at home will notice he blew right over the twins in his favorite team
00:43royals game but that's all right i'm not letting him get off the hook that quickly uh but it's
00:49interesting because they've played this will be the 10th time arizona and the padres have played this
00:54year arizona leads 5-4 and wouldn't you know it uh craig i believe the final uh weekend series
01:02of the regular season they play each other at petco in san diego so wow yeah i mean you want
01:10to talk
01:10about um you know this could be so again it's been almost split down the middle of arizona is able
01:17to
01:17pull it out tonight they'll have a 6-4 lead so tiebreakers obviously matter uh but yeah i i mean
01:24for
01:24the most part i don't see a lot of difference between these two teams uh i don't think when
01:30you know you got a rookie lefty last night they made look like cy young they got another rookie
01:36lefty going here tonight arizona does i don't know why anybody would think that can't happen again
01:43because they uh the padres aren't exactly hitting left-handed pitching all that well but you know
01:49walker bueller here we go again all these new shiny toys you got i mentioned to you yesterday
01:54i don't like casey mize 11 days off i guys are creatures of habit you know pitchers and he didn't
02:01look all that sharp last night and of course they ended up paying the price here but you know walker
02:07bueller is gonna have to eat some innings here over the next uh couple of weeks here and they're
02:12going to need him and a few other guys to be able to step up and get it done to
02:17me it's all about do
02:18we trust the bats enough has there been enough consistency that you've seen with the padres and
02:24you saw him here in miami i they talk about woefully underperformed this year but i really did think they
02:31turned a corner and i think if they can have a pretty good finish till august heading into september i
02:38think anything is possible with them as well you you would think that the padres when they're right
02:46would have a more formidable lineup than the diamondbacks you when they're going right now
02:51that has not been the case at all this season april and may was a zero for tatis and a
02:58zero for machado
03:00and uh you know they had merrill carrying them and sheets but those four guys right there like that's
03:07really good joe like machado tatis merrill and sheets i think that beats the diamondbacks right
03:14like therefore all day i think yeah that beats the diamondbacks but the diamondbacks are seemingly
03:21just more of a function of playing great defense and run prevention games are close their guys don't
03:28blow you away they get into the fifth sixth inning they have a deeper starting pitching
03:34um the padres have a better eighth and ninth you're right man it's it's really close between these two
03:40teams it could come down to the last three games of the season so you know that's very possible i
03:46mean
03:46the the uh the other development that we're seeing happening is that you know it's interesting that you
03:51mentioned that because for miami's purposes and st louis's purposes in pittsburgh that's the worst
03:55scenario for them is these two teams beating up on each other the final three games of the season
03:59because then they can't really make any ground
04:01you
