09:01ball dudette and all of those moments to get to a point where, at so many points in the
09:06last 30, 40 years, they've been more popular than the players themselves.
09:11I don't know that I certainly have never heard of anything like that existing anywhere else.
09:17So it is an end of just the absolute best of eras.
09:23There is absolutely, it's as irreplaceable as anything could ever be, and all along,
09:29both of them, such great people to everyone around them.

15:28show, and we would talk to them and book them, and it was during my time there that they decided
15:33that it would be every day.
15:34Like, you go Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and you go Tuesday, Thursday, and that's when things
15:38really elevated because they're players, but they have a lot to say, and they will say
15:42things, and they're fun, and the characters and all the rest of it.
15:45We get to, you know, when we get to do this for a living, we all have, I think, a
15:50series
15:50of things that are kind of the pinch-me moments or whatever that come up.
15:55And when I got to come back home, it ended up being actually right before, or it was a
16:00year before COVID hit.
16:02And I also was obviously working at KNBR, and then I had a project that I got to do with
16:08the Giants that was their podcast, and we were just about to launch it.
16:12I was just about to get on a plane to go to spring training, and they called me and said,
16:17so the world is shut down, so we're not going to do that anymore.
16:21And we had to change the podcast, and we called it Inside Giant Moments, and we started talking
16:27to former players and current players, and it was more of a storytelling podcast.
16:32And I bring that up just to say, we probably did, I don't know, off memory, we might have
16:38did 40, 50 episodes.
16:41I don't know if the other 39 episodes equaled the listenership we got for the Krook and Kipe
16:50episode.
16:51And I'll never forget sitting down to even record that episode.
16:57I don't remember in this portion of my career ever being that nervous as I was to sit down
17:04and be like, I'm just going to sit here for 45 minutes and interview Krook and Kipe.
17:09And have them tell stories.
17:11And it will not surprise anyone to know that they made it the easiest thing that you could
17:15possibly do.
17:16And the whole time, I'm just sitting there listening to these stories going, is this actually happening
17:22right now?
17:23So fun.
17:24So fun.
17:25They're the absolute best.
17:27Yep.
17:27Wish Krook nothing but the best.
17:30And what a career.
17:31I mean, what a career.
17:3355 years, I think Ken said in the game.
17:35From playing and broadcasting.

17:39Well, and I remember like 86 for me is so special.
17:42It was my senior year and that was the year that he won 20 games.
17:46And so at the tail end of it, which would be the beginning of baseball, the end of our
17:50like senior year in high school, we all would come over.
17:53Steve Rabb, Rick Barsotti, Tom Avakumovic from Marin and get a Gordo's burrito and go watch
17:57Giants baseball.
17:58And we went to every Krook start we could because they were so bad the year before.
18:03And that year they actually were, you know, pretty good.
18:05It was the home babies and Krook went out and won 20 games.
18:08And so he kind of became at that moment, our favorite giant of the era.
18:12And so we tracked his progress all year.
18:15It's incredible, man.
18:16It really, truly is.
18:17And I told Stani earlier, and I mean this, I feel selfish because I feel like they are
18:22my family members, just like with Fitz and Papa.
18:24When he was calling the games, you know, I've come from funerals, I've got bad news, I've
18:29been hurt, I've been in arguments, but Giant Baseball was there for 162 games in my living
18:34room.
18:35And those are guys you just latch on to.
18:38And this is crazy, but I'll say it.
18:40I still bring up the YouTube of Mike Bream, Van Gundy and Mark Jackson.
18:45It wasn't about the game.
18:47It was their banter.
18:48And I'm like, it ain't dead.
18:50But now, I still watch ball, and I'm going to watch the Giants, but knowing time's taken
18:55on Krook and Kipe in regard to being together, it's must-see, listen, for me, just watching
19:00the games, knowing it's coming to an end.
19:03Changed the rest of the season, didn't it?
19:06I didn't have much of a reason to watch the Giants the rest of the way, but we sure do
19:12now.
19:13No doubt.
19:13Just soak up every single one that's left.

19:35And you and Dibs have heard that from your fans and Stani, not that I'm on that level,
19:38but Dibs, it gets to like, that's a hell of a compliment to say to someone just hearing
19:43the banter.

19:45It's the highest compliment, and Mark said this in the green room, where they could be
19:49as bad as they are now, but if you put it on and they're both on the call, it's okay.
19:54Like, you're here for them, and they're not going to sugarcoat it and say, oh, you know,
19:58a couple of hits here, the math is still there.

20:02And one of my favorite things from this year, and we did a bid on it, is where, you know,
20:06they give up, you know, five runs or whatever in an inning, and it's like, inning over,

20:17And Kipe, honestly, will give you the tone, and he'll keep it real as much as he can as
