00:05quietly having unbelievable success with the Giants.

00:12I mean, practically, forget about scoring on him, man.
00:15Just a great job, not to mention never got any run support because the Giants can't hit.
00:20So now he's with the Padres, a team that he just blew out last time out pitching against
00:26them.
00:27But he's got the Astros coming to Petco.
00:31Notorious for suppressing runs in this ballpark.
00:34Blanco is going for the Astros.
00:36He's gotten lit up like a Christmas tree since coming off the IL.
00:40So does Robbie Ray just continue his dominant ways here against this Astros lineup?
00:46Yeah, I like to listen.
00:47The Astros are playing great.
00:49Both teams are really playing well, especially Houston, right?
00:5112 and three, their last 15.
00:53Hard to bet against that, right?
00:55But you have to because you said a Blanco has been awful.

00:59Each one is bad as the next.

01:06And the Padres are actually scoring runs.
01:08They're averaging close to six runs a game, you know, since the All-Star break.

01:13They're playing a little bit better.

01:16And a quirky little thing.
01:18But, you know, the numbers do jump out at you.
01:21Houston off yesterday.
01:22They're 7 and 18 after a day off, which makes no sense.
01:27But, you know, 7 and 18 is like, wow.
01:29Oh, okay.
01:30And you got Robbie Ray making, like you said, his debut for San Diego.
01:34So you're getting the Padres basically a pick-em.
01:36You know, they're playing well.
01:38Maybe the best ball all season.
01:40I'll take him against Blanco in Houston.
01:43Yeah, Blanco is not good.
01:45I mean, both bullpens.
01:46The Astros bullpen much better now that it's healthy.
01:50And they are very much alive for that American League West crown there at two games over 500.
01:58But I'm kind of with you here.
02:00I like them in the first five.
02:01I'll take the Padres to have the lead.
02:04Because whoever has the lead after five, Scotty,
02:07I think both bullpens are more than capable.
02:10Of holding it down there.
02:12Which is why I think the Padres need to score early in this one to get it done there.
02:19And don't forget, Robbie Ray was in, what was it, Toronto?
02:21He was in the American League and faced Houston a few times, right?
02:26Was it Toronto he was with forever?
02:27I think he won the Cy Young there.
02:30So, yeah, he's got some Altuve experience and Jordan Alvarez and so on and so forth.
02:37But, yeah, Petco notorious for keeping the scoring low there.
02:41But I think the Padres get it done in the first five.
02:45But it begs the question, somebody's got to win the American League West at some particular point.

02:57We've got that game coming up that we're going to talk about because, yeah, you would think that, oh, it

03:05Nobody expected Houston at this point, Scotty, to even be in contention for that division, right?
03:11Did you expect Houston to have a good enough year to actually win the American League West?
03:16I had Texas winning that division.
03:19I thought they would be there.
03:20I didn't think they would necessarily win.
03:22Didn't like Oakland or the A's.
03:24Didn't like the Angels.
03:25But I figured it would be, you know, I think most people just figured Seattle.

03:30That would be the one.
03:31But Astros played well, you know.
03:3212-6 since the All-Star break.
03:34Like I said, 12-3 last 15.
03:36They turned it around.
03:37They got some hitting.
03:38Got a little healthier.
03:39They've been bagged up with injuries.
03:40But, you know, you could play 500 baseball and eventually turn it on, which is, I guess, why people still
03:48think Seattle might end up winning that division.
03:50But Astros, you know, playing well enough.
03:53And it doesn't take much to win that division, like you said, or the Central, for that matter.
03:58And it's so funny, Scotty, because the Astros have a guy that is likely going to win the Triple Crown,
04:04and nobody's talking about it.
04:06You're not Alvarez as your American League MVP.
04:08Most people don't even, I haven't heard anybody talk about the guys leading in batting average, home runs, and RBIs,
04:15and people pretending like, oh, the Astros.
04:20Like, no, they're not.
04:22And the last Triple Crown that we got winner, was it Cabrera was the last one?
04:29Or was there somebody else that did it?
04:32It was Miguel Cabrera, right?
04:34And with the Tigers.
04:36And was he a DH then?
04:37He might have been.
04:38As well.
04:39Could you imagine if Otani and Yordan Alvarez, two DHs, win the MVPs in the National and the American League?
