00:02Hi Fonley Interiors. My name is Ramey. This is my home in Ubud. Come take a peek in my paradise.
00:13So when I got the house it had no walls so I decided to close it in and make it
00:20more of an
00:20inside house rather than outside house. But I love the garden. The garden is so beautiful. I made a
00:27ceiling to floor, glass. When I got the house there was a lot of details and finishes that
00:36were also really cool so I wanted to keep whatever we could and then just add what we
00:41what we wanted to complement it. We already had like this really great beautiful stone
00:46which comes from Indonesia and the marble flooring which is more of a you know older traditional
00:51art in in Indonesia but it's so beautiful. This sofa over here is really special because
00:56it's from an old Indonesian boat and and then we combined it with some of the wood from the house
01:02which is really a special piece. So because the house is raised up and we have the view of the
01:08garden I really wanted to keep that so we could appreciate it and not take away from the view.
01:13So I made everything really low intentionally almost in a Japanese style so people could sit
01:20closer to the ground and also enjoy the view of the garden.
01:30So in the kitchen I pretty much have to do everything from scratch in here because this was
01:34a garden it was a truly just an outdoor space so when we closed everything in the the ground in
01:43the
01:43garden was like a step down to the ground so we filled it in to raise up the ground and
01:49then made
01:49it with these these tiles which are the cement tiles that I had custom made here. All of the furniture
01:57I also had made so this island we custom made it and purposely wanted it to be very large so
02:04you
02:04could both cook here and eat here and hang out because the kitchen tends to be the heart of the
02:09home.
02:10So for the sink area I wanted to keep it everything very simple so I didn't do any upper cabinets
02:16I just
02:17did a nice open shelf so you could use it but not have to have like the the heaviness of
02:24a cabinet on
02:24the upper cabinet so all of the caning and everything that is for me it's a very tropical element I
02:31use
02:31it in a lot of my furniture but I wanted to use it here in the kitchen as well and
02:35I repeated that
02:36in a few different places around the house.
02:43So one of my favorite pieces is this one which is done by my friend Agustin. He's an artist here
02:49in
02:49Bali and he's an amazing both painter and also a musician and and he went to his studio and he
02:58had
02:58this amazing art and so I I was able to get this piece. I grew up in the desert where
03:04there's a lot
03:05of pastel colors and I think that's definitely informed some of my light and the things I like
03:09and the and the colors that I gravitate towards and in this house I did a kind of a terracotta
03:16wall with
03:16the pink but this piece really popped on the wall and I just love it so much it's really special.
03:22So there's two sides of the house and they're separated by the the central living space but
03:27on this side is the guest room so come on this way.
03:37So this is the guest room and what I like about this room is that you can really well you
03:45can first
03:46view the garden when you're in the bed but when you're in the bed it sort of feels like a
03:49princess bed
03:50with the canopy. I just love it for for the feeling and it feels really special but I wanted my
03:55guests
03:55to have that feeling too when they're in here. The ceiling in this house is really beautiful it's
04:02like the old traditional ceiling where they do wood for the framing and then use some rattan.
04:09Originally it was very dark and heavy and so I wanted to feel light and airy and so I painted
04:14it so
04:15I wanted to keep the texture of the the original ceiling but kind of change it a little bit and
04:21I love that you can really feel feel that in this space.
04:27So this is a guest bathroom and what I love about this front is I had my friend Dewa paint
04:32who's he's
04:33an artist here and he does amazing work so he came and painted this mural which
04:39kind of took parts and colors from the rest of the house and and gave him the the jungle theme
04:45and
04:46then let him go wild and this is what what he came up with and I really love it.
04:55So this piece is uh an interesting space I think when I got the house it was intentionally supposed to
05:01be
05:01uh the living room but I didn't really because I made that the living room I didn't know what to
05:08do
05:08with this space so I decided I would just sort of make it my extra little me zone where I
05:14could do
05:14work or read or just be separate from my guests if I have them. So I've made it more like
05:20an office
05:20and it's also connected to my to my bedroom so I can easily travel between when I'm working. I kind
05:27of added a few personal favorite pieces to this space. My friend gave me this this special one which
05:34is an antique. I love I love collecting antiques especially in here in Indonesia there's so many
05:39beautiful pieces and this one was my friend's grandmother's so it's very special.
05:52So this space is my bedroom. I also wanted to keep the furniture really low in here and I love
05:58the view
05:59because I can look out and see the garden when I wake up. It just feels really nice to sleep
06:05in this
06:05space. I get really good rest here. Again the ceiling in this room is very high and just really peaceful
06:12in this space. So now I'll show you the primary bathroom which is over this way.
06:23Okay here we are in the bathroom. This space was another space that was also outside when I first
06:29got the house. So this wall wasn't here. It was open to nature. So I wanted to close it in
06:37and make
06:38it more of an inside bathroom. I chose this stone. This is a stone that's natural or it comes from
06:45from here in Indonesia. And typically they use it for the pools but I really love the look of it
06:51and
06:51I love the color. So I chose it for the bathroom. And I wanted it to have both a shower
06:58and a nice
07:00bathtub space. So I put them next to one another so you you get both. But I love this this
07:07bathtub
07:08especially because it's nice for relaxing and reading or just doing your girly spa things.
07:30Thanks volunteers for taking a peek in my paradise. See you soon!
07:33Bye!
