00:49The court also heard Jay initially told police that Alan Jones gave him a mobile phone when he was at
00:55school.
00:56But Jay was shown phone records revealing it wasn't connected until 2003.
01:02Under questioning, he agreed he must have been given it at 18.

01:12Today, the court was shown messages Jay sent to his ex-girlfriend, who made a police statement to assist his
01:18case in 2024.
01:20Once it's over, I promise to look after you, he told the woman.
01:23Asked whether that was a promise to financially look after her, Jay insisted again that he never wanted compensation.
01:30The defence has sought to poke holes in Jay's evidence, putting to him multiple times that his allegations of kissing
01:37and touching never happened,
01:39and that he concocted his story after reading media reports.
01:43But Jay has insisted he's telling the truth.
01:45Jay agreed under questioning that he was physically superior to Alan Jones, but he never pushed him away.
