Why did Bo’az have to redeem the Redeemer, and what do six measures of barley reveal about Yahowah’s final plan? This discussion follows Ruwth, Bo’az, No’omy, the Nakar, and the reluctant nearer redeemer through Bethlehem’s city gate, exposing how inheritance, marriage, sacrifice, Hebrew volition, and the Greater and Lesser Ga’al converge in one prophetic transaction. Discover how the sixth Mow’ed, the final harvest, and the restoration of Yisra’el reveal a redemption blueprint hidden in the Towrah and brought to life through two people willing to pay the price.
00:00:00 ~ Intro ~ Verbatim
00:03:26 ~ "I will do so. I will redeem you. I will redeem you right now at this moment."
00:06:29 ~ "God had a backup plan. Bo'az would be there."
00:15:26 ~ "They identify themselves as the Nakar and Nakara, and yet there's not one person in a billion that knows who the Nakar and Nakara are."
00:21:15 ~ "It is certain that this man, that he will not remain silent, he will not be at rest, and he will not find peace without completely determining, totally deciding, entirely settling, resolutely fulfilling, and absolutely finishing Kalah this matter, this day."
00:23:18 ~ "For all of their willingness to do as God had asked, for them being willing to do the most difficult jobs ever asked of anyone, jobs even Yahowah didn't want to do, they were always Kalah. They were the fixers. They were the finishers. They were the completers."

00:00:00The Yadda, ba-ba-ba-ba, the Yawa Vlog, with Yadda, settle yourself and step in, let the
00:00:09truth begin, open the door and hear it clear, Yadda on the mic as we bring it simple and
00:00:15true, a chance to shoot is coming right at you, listening for the light in these last
00:00:20times, now let's go live with Yadda.
00:00:25Welcome to the Luminary Series, we're in the final throes of what is coming home sick
00:00:32on May 8th, we're talking about what occurred in Bethlehem well over 3,000 years ago between
00:00:40Ruth and Boaz, they're now not only celebrating the barley harvest which is commiserate with
00:00:49Pesach, Matzah and Makutim and they are together celebrating their second date, they are quite
00:00:58frankly enjoying one another's company at this time and Mr. Bethlehem which is really
00:01:06what we should refer to Moaz as he was easily the most famous person in Israel at this time,
00:01:14probably the wealthiest, most successful and clearly the closest in a relationship with
00:01:21Yawa and he in the midst of this grand celebration of sensuality became as I said the other day
00:01:30quite a chatterbox.
00:01:33So with the most desirable woman, maybe in the world at that time, lay naked and receptive beside
00:01:42him, he became quite bullish over the possibilities and when I say she was the most desirable woman in the
00:01:48world, there is more to a woman by a long shot than just beauty, she was bold, she was brilliant
00:01:57and she was in the
00:01:59center of God's plans and that made her rather exceptional.
00:02:05He said, choose to spend the rest of the night, of course sweetheart, please stay around here a little longer,
00:02:15you
00:02:15clearly want to remain overnight, your desire is to stay occupying this place, especially at this time,
00:02:23when it occurs and he exists as the morning arrives and the bull who is observant and contemplative becomes
00:02:34known, then as often as he pays the price to redeem and emancipate you, that's good, it's beneficial
00:02:45and beautiful.
00:02:46Yes, the bull is the one who would ultimately stand beside her and he said his decision and desire
00:02:58will be to consistently pay the price to redeem and save.
00:03:02But even if, mother, he would be unwilling as that bull to be sufficiently eager due to some unknown lack
00:03:19of
00:03:19motivation, which of course he couldn't perceive at the moment, to pay the price to redeem and liberate
00:03:25you, he says, I will do so, I will redeem you, I will redeem you right now at this moment.
00:03:37And that is rather exceptional.
00:03:41He said, Yahweh lives to nourish, to restore life, keeping us alive, you should choose to lie down,
00:03:49wanting to sleep and remain, even engage sexually at this time, until the witness of the morning,
00:03:58ha, makar, the observant bull, arrives.
00:04:03Ruth, 313.
00:04:05Well, she had risked everything by offering herself to him in this way and was all in with
00:04:14what could only be perceived as the gamble of a lifetime.
00:04:18In return, he laid down all of his cards and he declared that she had won.
00:04:26He wanted her to stay and she had come for that very purpose.
00:04:32More than tease the ga'al, the redeemer, out of Boaz, Ruth had coaxed his inner bull, his observant and
00:04:45contemplative bull.
00:04:46She knew that they were one and the same.
00:04:49It would be in this role that he would ultimately pay the price to emancipate the remnant of Yisrael,
00:04:57doing so by removing the remainder of their guilt, setting them free.
00:05:04Even 3,300 years before he would pay the ultimate price for the covenant family,
00:05:12Moaz affirmed his willingness.
00:05:14It may not have been in his imposing DNA, but clearly it was woven into his nephesh and the sama,
00:05:24his soul and his character.
00:05:28It is actually prophetic of Boaz, acknowledging that the other ga'al would initially be unwilling,
00:05:40lacking the motivation to follow through.
00:05:43Because the ga'al that was closer to Yahweh, his firstborn, as we know,
00:05:51the case was clearly laid out for us, that the ensuing rift between Dode and Yahweh would have
00:06:00made him reluctant at first, but also because the relationship was redeemed through the 31st
00:06:09word picture and the 89th song, with the ama fulfilling the first and the ga'al redeeming the redeemer in
00:06:20the second,
00:06:21we now have a position where we know that even if Dode stumbled, God had a backup plan.
00:06:32Boaz would be there.
00:06:34Therefore, quite literally, the ga'al would recuse himself for a while, and during this time,
00:06:45the katan ga'al would step up to redeem him.
00:06:50Now, on a personal note, Boaz was so sure that Ruth was God's gift,
00:06:57that he was ready and willing to consummate the deal right then and there.
00:07:02And he did immediately after proclaiming Yahweh's name.
00:07:09His Yahweh Che was his way of saying, best gift ever.
00:07:15Thanks, Dad.
00:07:16And she is already unwrapped.
00:07:19And with that, they, Shekob, laid back down.
00:07:24But it wasn't to sleep.
00:07:27The bull and Boaz was ready to rumble.
00:07:31By the way, you know, it's interesting to contemplate,
00:07:34now that Boaz has brought it up in this context.
00:07:40What if Dode couldn't be redeemed?
00:07:45What if he couldn't be redeemed?
00:07:49He, of course, was God's priority.
00:07:52He was God's firstborn.
00:07:54He was Adam.
00:07:55He was Shem.
00:07:57He was the beloved.
00:08:00But what if we, as his surrogate parents, Ruth and Boaz,
00:08:06and then as his birth parents, couldn't get it done?
00:08:14I think we would have survived it, actually.
00:08:18It wouldn't have been nearly as good.
00:08:21God would have been disappointed.
00:08:25But we were there, nonetheless.
00:08:29If the primary Ga'al hadn't come through,
00:08:35the other was prepared to do so.
00:08:40He fulfilled Pesach and Matzah right beside Dode, anyway.
00:08:48He was the support for the Gadol.
00:08:55But the Catan is sort of a mini-me.
00:08:58Sort of a Yawa's way of deploying a personality
00:09:03that is somewhat similar to his own.
00:09:06Aggressive, acerbic, an agitator.
00:09:12And he was there, wasn't he?
00:09:15I suppose we could have continued.
00:09:17It's just that so much of God's plan would have lost its luster.
00:09:22So much would have been squandered.
00:09:28Anyway, as we read this story, nothing was squandered at this moment.
00:09:31But she continued to lie down, remaining prone.
00:09:35She made a habit of sleeping while continually enjoying sexual experiences.
00:09:41Along his legs and feet.
00:09:44From his hips to his toes.
00:09:47Until the morning.
00:09:49And the witness of the observant and thoughtful ball.
00:09:52Then she arose, interrupting things before anyone could observe or recognize the Nakar.
00:10:04Boy, they knew exactly who they were.
00:10:07With his companion now.
00:10:10And his friend.
00:10:16He said, it's best not known.
00:10:21That indeed the woman came on to the threshing floor.
00:10:29It's Ruth 314.
00:10:31Yeah, they were naughty neighbors.
00:10:35But only if one interrupts naughty in the most entertaining way and interprets it to that way.
00:10:43But the fact is that while they enjoyed every moment of this as consenting adults and in full purview of
00:10:51God's plan.
00:10:53It wasn't something they wanted the prudes and gossips to know.
00:10:56They were wise enough to recognize that when you are doing something, no matter how marvelous it is in God's
00:11:05sight, there's always curmudgeons out there.
00:11:08And it was best that they not know at this point.
00:11:14You know, it's one of the things, too, that I was contemplating earlier today.
00:11:17We're going over prophecies in Zechariah 4 and recognizing that it was all there.
00:11:24You've got the Catan Meor and the Gadol Meor.
00:11:28You've got the two trees.
00:11:31And the whole prophecy is even inclusive of how there will be a Zerubbabel, who is the seed of Satan
00:11:43and the great confabulator that will ultimately be done in the end.
00:11:48And how they prophesied that that second temple would not stand because of the greed of the characters being discussed,
00:11:58their grift.
00:11:59And I speculate.
00:12:02You know, it's an interesting conundrum as to why 99% of what we have perceived through the Torah and
00:12:11prophets was not previously recognized.
00:12:13And also why 90% of what we come to know has become prevalent in the last year or so.
00:12:25And, you know, part of it, of course, is what we have discussed, where knowing begets knowing.
00:12:31Understanding leads to comprehension.
00:12:33The more you know and understand, the easier it is to know and understand.
00:12:38You develop a foundation, you build upon it.
00:12:40You know, a tree begins as a seed and it grows, but it has to develop its trunk and its
00:12:47root systems and its branches and leaves and process the sun's light and energy before it can blossom and then
00:12:56bear fruit.
00:12:57And then when it does, sometimes the proliferation of fruit is faster and more abundant than people can even process,
00:13:05which may be true at this moment.
00:13:08But it's also a need-to-know basis.
00:13:11There's no reason to cast pearls before swine.
00:13:15There would have been a curiosity, I suppose, as to who the maoreth and the ets were.
00:13:26Who were these luminaries?
00:13:27Who were those trees?
00:13:28But what good would it have done anyone prior to this time on the cusp of returning to the garden?
00:13:36You know, wouldn't it have been interesting for someone to know who that Rahab was, this Zerubbabel, this great betrayer,
00:13:49a hundred or a thousand years from now?
00:13:52But it wasn't even possible.
00:13:55So sometimes we derive understanding when it's time to know.
00:14:01And there is no reason for anyone to have been able to process this information, even if they had the
00:14:09inclination to do so, without it being the right time to know.
00:14:14And it's why Yahshua has just come alive for us, where every time we open the book, it leads to
00:14:23greater understanding, because it is our time to perceive what is in store for God's people, just in time for
00:14:32them to fulfill the prophecy of the final remnant.
00:14:38So anyway, as they enjoyed every moment of this, they were also of the recognition that the people of that
00:14:53community would not recognize them as the Nayara and the Nakar and would give them a lot of lip.
00:15:00And so it would be, their revelations would remain veiled through the millennia.
00:15:07Here they are, the man and woman prophesied to deliver the kinsman redeemer.
00:15:14And the most popular religion in the world gives that distinction to a Mary and a Joseph.
00:15:23What do you have to do about these things?
00:15:26They identify themselves as the Nakar and Nakara, and yet there's not one person in a billion that knows who
00:15:36the Nakar and Nakara are.
00:15:41Eventually, as foretold, Yadda, of course, would kiss and tell.
00:15:45They couldn't be trusted, not with a secret as delicious as this.
00:15:49And speaking of not being able to keep them, as was the case of Ruth and Boaz,
00:15:56Leigh and I would follow suit and consummate our marriage at the conclusion of our second date,
00:16:02managing to find a similarly smooth and hard place to do so,
00:16:07which is also fascinating in the way the story has come together, just separated by 3,300 years.
00:16:15And he said, by choice or command, go to bring, come and offer the shawl,
00:16:27which to enjoy the benefits of the relationship was over you.
00:16:34Go get your shawl if you want to.
00:16:38And I'm either telling you to, or you can choose to, and by your choice or command,
00:16:45you should grasp hold of it now.
00:16:50So she took it, and he measured out six barley and placed it on her.
00:17:04And then she went to the city.
00:17:08Now, Ruth came veiled to her wedding, but she did not leave it on, well, very long.
00:17:16Moreover, by telling her to go get it and to not wear it, he was telling her that he was
00:17:25proud of her,
00:17:25and that on their second and on second thought, there was no reason for them to hide their love.
00:17:34So as for the barley that was offered, there's, well, plausible deniability, perhaps.
00:17:47Or if Boaz, you know, she was there to glean a little more, if you will.
00:17:52Or if Boaz was counting the harvests that he would spend with this woman, and there would be six of
00:17:59them.
00:18:00But if I were asked to explain this, I would say that he was directing her attention to the sixth
00:18:07Moab
00:18:08and the sixth millennia, when on Kaporim in year 6,000, yeah,
00:18:16they would be formally and forever married before Doad, their son, and yeah, with her father.
00:18:24And whether she solved the riddle of six grains of barley or not, she was glowing upon her return to
00:18:35Naomi.
00:18:36She had that look.
00:18:38So when she arrived and came to her mother-in-law, she said,
00:18:44with whom were you and what happened to you, my daughter?
00:18:47So she went on reporting all that had happened, everything that had occurred.
00:18:57Well, she enjoyed the relationship, and she had been with the man and what he had done to her.
00:19:08Ruth, pleasurable mate, 316.
00:19:11Like I said previously, my wife isn't a big fan of pillow talk.
00:19:16So she kept her report focused upon all the fun stuff that he had done to her and with her.
00:19:25That said, as I read my translation and assessment of her biography to her last night before bed,
00:19:37she was quick to remember every word I had spoken to her in the first two days we were together.
00:19:45And how they were all reflected in this same story.
00:19:50I don't think she has ever blushed or laughed more than she did last night.
00:19:56She is a very private person, but she makes an exception for three individuals.
00:20:03Her father, Yawa, her son, Doad, and her husband, Yada.
00:20:12So she said, these six grains of barley he gave to me because he said to me,
00:20:22you must not return without what is expected to your mother-in-law.
00:20:32Now, I think she was inviting Naomi, my favorite, to her wedding on the sixth Moed in year 6,000,
00:20:40with the ceremony beginning just after 6 p.m.
00:20:44And since that was 3,300 years from this glorious morning in Bethlehem,
00:20:51we find that Naomi responded and said,
00:20:55meanwhile, for the benefit of the relationship, you should settle down and hang tight.
00:21:00Choosing to remain seated, my daughter,
00:21:04until you know how, where, and why this matter.
00:21:11It will all work out as it falls into place and things are allotted.
00:21:16It is certain that this man, that he will not remain silent.
00:21:21He will not be at rest and he will not find peace without completely determining,
00:21:27totally deciding, entirely settling, resolutely fulfilling,
00:21:32and absolutely finishing, halah, this matter, this day.
00:21:41Roof 3.18.
00:21:43You know, sometimes you just stumble upon things.
00:21:47I would never have given Shakat a second thought.
00:21:53That he will not remain silent, be at rest or find peace.
00:21:57That he will not be satisfied or quiet.
00:22:01But, you know, it's there in the preamble to the story of the man from Edom who saves many,
00:22:09who is one of two Gaal redeemers.
00:22:14And what is said in God's voice is that until he dispatched his final witness,
00:22:25that he could find no satisfaction or rest.
00:22:29That he was only able to find contentment once his final witness was dispatched.
00:22:38And here, she has woven that insight into this story with Lo Shakat featured in the same way.
00:22:51Of course, Kalah has become a favorite.
00:22:57It was here in this story that we began to celebrate.
00:23:02It conveying the most aspect, the most important aspect of, of really, Ruth and Boaz.
00:23:11For all of their passions, for all of their insights, for all of their love,
00:23:18for all of their willingness to do as God had asked.
00:23:23For them being willing to do the most difficult jobs ever asked of anyone.
00:23:32Jobs even Yahweh didn't want to do.
00:23:35They were always Kalah.
00:23:41They were the fixers.
00:23:43They were the finishers.
00:23:44They were the completers.
00:23:47They never left anything undone.
00:23:49They never ran from any challenge.
00:23:52They never gave up.
00:23:54And that is what distinguished them.
00:23:58And that is why God, in the preamble to the story of the man from Edom,
00:24:05who saves many in the end as one of the two redeemers,
00:24:10is presented as the one when finally deployed in the end,
00:24:15gave God a sense of solace, of comfort, of rest.
00:24:19Because he knew this man would get it done.
00:24:22He could count on him to finish.
00:24:26It's marvelous the way these things are juxtaposed.
00:24:31Well, it is deja vu all over again.
00:24:35Been there, done that.
00:24:36Enjoyed every moment.
00:24:39I have lived through this numerous times with this woman.
00:24:44And it's a lovely conclusion, filled as it was with some of our favorite words.
00:24:51Asher is the most important word in our lives
00:24:54because it's where it all began.
00:24:57It is not only the first word I translated a quarter century ago.
00:25:02It's the title ascribed to the Amma
00:25:05at the conclusion of the final word picture.
00:25:10Yara is not only my name at this moment
00:25:13and included within the title of the 40 books that I've written,
00:25:17knowing its purpose in our lives, which is to know Yara.
00:25:26We have striven throughout it all to Yara
00:25:31to know how all this plays out
00:25:33as all of the pieces of this puzzle fall into place.
00:25:38With Nafal, speaking of fall,
00:25:42we have come full circle
00:25:44from the fall of man
00:25:46to the means for us to rise again.
00:25:50Ruth and Boaz make this possible
00:25:53by delivering
00:25:55the kinsmen redeemers.
00:26:00Both of them.
00:26:04As everyone listening to this is likely aware,
00:26:09there is no low shifat,
00:26:11no keeping quiet or inactive,
00:26:14while there is still work to be done.
00:26:18We are here to Kalal, finish the job
00:26:21that has been assigned to us
00:26:22and complete the mission.
00:26:23And we will not stop until it is finished.
00:26:26And this is something that God knows,
00:26:28which is why Yahshia wove it into the story
00:26:31as the precursor to that announcement
00:26:34that he made that was so bold
00:26:37of the man from Edom who would save many.
00:26:41Now, more than ever,
00:26:44I am, of course, convinced
00:26:45that I wrote this as Boaz
00:26:48as a tribute to Ruth,
00:26:52to my love for her
00:26:55and how it was reciprocated
00:26:58for our God,
00:27:00for our son,
00:27:03and as an ode to all
00:27:05we would collectively accomplish together.
00:27:09And while every word
00:27:11was an accurate reflection
00:27:15of what occurred,
00:27:17it was written such that
00:27:18it could be interpreted
00:27:20as mundane or miraculous,
00:27:23as pedantic or prophetic.
00:27:27And since we lived it,
00:27:29not once,
00:27:30but multiple times,
00:27:32I wanted to express
00:27:33what we said and did
00:27:35as revealingly as was possible.
00:27:39And part of that is because
00:27:41I want to underscore
00:27:42just how supportive
00:27:44Yahweh is
00:27:45of passion between people.
00:27:49Now, I know it to be true
00:27:50because in our present relationship,
00:27:53every delicious detail,
00:27:55subtle nuance was spoken
00:27:58and enjoyed
00:27:58just as it occurred
00:28:00three millennia ago.
00:28:02My Leah is Ruth
00:28:03and I'm Herb Oaz.
00:28:09We are
00:28:10the Naked Nabi.
00:28:13Now, fully exposed
00:28:15for your benefit.
00:28:20So, as we open
00:28:21the final chapter
00:28:22of the book of Ruth,
00:28:24we will note
00:28:25that back in the day,
00:28:27complicated matters
00:28:28were resolved
00:28:29at the gate.
00:28:32And in this case,
00:28:34Boaz was so certain
00:28:35that he and Ruth
00:28:37were the product
00:28:38of an arranged marriage.
00:28:40He was committed
00:28:41to seeing this through,
00:28:43even if by force of will.
00:28:48he knew
00:28:50that had he
00:28:51tried to
00:28:54do this any other way
00:28:55or someone tried
00:28:56to intervene
00:28:57or object,
00:28:59of course,
00:29:00that Boaz
00:29:01would live up
00:29:02to the acclaim
00:29:03of his name.
00:29:05Boaz,
00:29:06which means
00:29:06with confidence,
00:29:08courage,
00:29:08and conviction,
00:29:10a man who is
00:29:11unassailable
00:29:12and irrefutable.
00:29:16that he went up
00:29:17to that gate
00:29:18and he sat down there.
00:29:21Then he noticed
00:29:22that the relative
00:29:24who could potentially
00:29:25redeem
00:29:26passed by.
00:29:29To pursue the relationship,
00:29:31he spoke
00:29:31to Boaz,
00:29:34Mr. Confident
00:29:36and Courageous,
00:29:37so replied,
00:29:39I was hoping
00:29:41that you would
00:29:44choose to
00:29:45turn aside
00:29:46and to
00:29:47remove yourself
00:29:49because it is
00:29:50my preference
00:29:51that you decide
00:29:53to reject
00:29:54this proposal.
00:29:57You and I
00:29:59both want you
00:30:00to excuse yourself.
00:30:02Call imperative,
00:30:03cohortative,
00:30:05peragogic,
00:30:06hey,
00:30:06second person,
00:30:07masculine,
00:30:08singular,
00:30:08that's a mouthful.
00:30:10Call means
00:30:10this conversation
00:30:12actually occurred.
00:30:13Imperative
00:30:14means that
00:30:14it was presented
00:30:15as an expression
00:30:17of second person
00:30:19volition,
00:30:20means this is
00:30:21the choice
00:30:21that you want
00:30:22to make too.
00:30:24Cohortative
00:30:24means this is
00:30:25the decision
00:30:26I want you to make.
00:30:27I want you to turn aside
00:30:28and you know you want
00:30:29to as well.
00:30:30Peragogic,
00:30:31hey,
00:30:31means this is emphatic.
00:30:34We're not just
00:30:35chit-chatting here.
00:30:36It's a lot at stake.
00:30:39And remain here
00:30:41bending your will
00:30:43to mine
00:30:44so that you
00:30:46retain this position
00:30:48as a result
00:30:49of your choices
00:30:50and of mine.
00:30:53Regarding
00:30:54paloni
00:30:55al-moni
00:30:58pertaining
00:30:59to
00:31:00a certain
00:31:01so-and-so,
00:31:02a particular
00:31:03separated
00:31:03and distinguished,
00:31:04indeed,
00:31:05wonderful,
00:31:06set-apart
00:31:06and confident
00:31:07someone
00:31:08who is a widow.
00:31:10I rather like
00:31:11that.
00:31:13The
00:31:13paloni
00:31:14al-moni,
00:31:16not to be
00:31:17mistaken
00:31:17with
00:31:18ridiculous
00:31:19al-moni,
00:31:20but
00:31:20paloni
00:31:22al-moni.
00:31:23It means,
00:31:23yeah,
00:31:24I want you
00:31:24to bend
00:31:26your will
00:31:26to mine
00:31:27regarding
00:31:27a particular
00:31:28certain
00:31:29so-and-so,
00:31:30a particular
00:31:31separated
00:31:31and distinguished,
00:31:32indeed,
00:31:33wonderful,
00:31:33set-apart
00:31:34and confident
00:31:34someone
00:31:35who is a
00:31:36widow.
00:31:37Gee,
00:31:38I wonder
00:31:38what he's
00:31:39talking about.
00:31:41All right,
00:31:42so he
00:31:42turned aside
00:31:43and he
00:31:44recused
00:31:45himself.
00:31:47He ceased
00:31:48and desisted
00:31:49while
00:31:50remaining
00:31:51inert.
00:31:53he considered
00:31:53the matter
00:31:54settled.
00:31:56Ruth
00:31:57guiding
00:31:57the flock
00:31:58for one.
00:32:00It is
00:32:01as I
00:32:02expected
00:32:02and,
00:32:03well,
00:32:03as I
00:32:03remembered,
00:32:04Boaz
00:32:04was a man
00:32:05on a
00:32:05mission
00:32:05and this
00:32:06bull
00:32:07is never
00:32:07deterred.
00:32:09He has
00:32:09no matador
00:32:10and he
00:32:11is not
00:32:11distracted
00:32:12by colorful
00:32:13objects,
00:32:14albeit
00:32:14by pretty
00:32:16ones.
00:32:17The first
00:32:18time we
00:32:18find a
00:32:19dual
00:32:19expression
00:32:20of volitional
00:32:21moods
00:32:21with the
00:32:22imperative
00:32:22playing
00:32:23alongside
00:32:24the
00:32:24cohortative,
00:32:25it's not
00:32:26only here,
00:32:28but it's
00:32:29replicated in
00:32:30back-to-back
00:32:31verbs.
00:32:32This was
00:32:34the technique
00:32:34that I
00:32:35thought only
00:32:37Dode had
00:32:38mastered.
00:32:38It is the
00:32:39technique that
00:32:40led me to
00:32:41recognize that
00:32:43Dode served as
00:32:44the Passover
00:32:44lamb.
00:32:47And while I
00:32:48thought Dode
00:32:49was the
00:32:51one who
00:32:52had invented
00:32:53this technique,
00:32:55he wouldn't
00:32:56be born in
00:32:57that life
00:32:57for another
00:32:58three generations.
00:33:00So now we
00:33:01know he
00:33:01is
00:33:03grammatarian.
00:33:05Well,
00:33:06these nuances
00:33:07of grammar
00:33:07seldom float
00:33:08people's boats
00:33:09and if I
00:33:10continue on
00:33:11this,
00:33:11they'll recruit
00:33:11me into
00:33:12the Perry
00:33:14Noah
00:33:14Kirk show
00:33:16on grammar,
00:33:18this is
00:33:19actually no
00:33:20trifling matter.
00:33:21It was
00:33:22through the
00:33:23combination of
00:33:24imperative and
00:33:25cohortative
00:33:26expressions of
00:33:27second and
00:33:27first person
00:33:28volition that
00:33:29I learned
00:33:30that Dode
00:33:31and Yawa
00:33:32were of
00:33:33like mind
00:33:34in fulfilling
00:33:35the Moed
00:33:35Eve.
00:33:36This is
00:33:37what led
00:33:38to the
00:33:38realization
00:33:39that the
00:33:40firstborn
00:33:40served as
00:33:42the Passover
00:33:42lamb,
00:33:43which
00:33:44fundamentally
00:33:45changed the
00:33:46core essence
00:33:47of God's
00:33:49story and
00:33:49of man's
00:33:51redemption.
00:33:53In this
00:33:54situation,
00:33:55Boaz was
00:33:56asking the
00:33:57name relative
00:33:59to recuse
00:34:00himself and
00:34:01to accommodate
00:34:02him relative
00:34:03to him serving
00:34:04as the
00:34:05redeemer.
00:34:06And yet,
00:34:07since Boaz
00:34:08didn't want
00:34:08to obfuscate
00:34:09Yahweh's
00:34:10insistence
00:34:11on volition,
00:34:12both men
00:34:13would retain
00:34:14their free
00:34:15will.
00:34:17Now,
00:34:17thanks to
00:34:18Ruth,
00:34:18Boaz was
00:34:19fully aware
00:34:20that he
00:34:21would serve
00:34:22his people
00:34:23as their
00:34:23redeemer,
00:34:24paying the
00:34:24price to
00:34:26set them
00:34:26free of
00:34:27religious and
00:34:27political.
00:34:30Guilt
00:34:31that
00:34:31the mess
00:34:33that they
00:34:34had made
00:34:34for
00:34:34themselves.
00:34:36No one
00:34:37would stand
00:34:37in his
00:34:38way.
00:34:38No one
00:34:39would keep
00:34:41him from
00:34:42fulfilling
00:34:42this destiny.
00:34:45This was
00:34:45also personal,
00:34:47of course,
00:34:47because Boaz
00:34:49had missed
00:34:49his match.
00:34:50He was in
00:34:51love with
00:34:53his life
00:34:53partner.
00:34:55She knew
00:34:56him better
00:34:56than he
00:34:57knew himself.
00:34:58She was
00:34:59bold.
00:35:00And he
00:35:01viewed her
00:35:02courage as
00:35:04inspiring
00:35:05and as
00:35:06sexy.
00:35:08Therefore,
00:35:09Ruth was
00:35:10that certain
00:35:11someone.
00:35:12She was
00:35:13the
00:35:13Paoloni
00:35:14alimony,
00:35:15which is,
00:35:16of course,
00:35:16not to be
00:35:17confused with
00:35:19premature
00:35:20alimony.
00:35:21They would
00:35:22never divorce,
00:35:23not these
00:35:24two.
00:35:24As for
00:35:25the
00:35:26Paoloni
00:35:27alimony
00:35:28in question,
00:35:29well,
00:35:29these terms
00:35:30reveal that
00:35:31she was a
00:35:32particular,
00:35:33separated and
00:35:33distinguished,
00:35:34indeed wonderful,
00:35:35set-apart,
00:35:36certain someone
00:35:38who had been
00:35:38a widow.
00:35:40He thinks
00:35:41we know
00:35:41the so-and-so,
00:35:42and so did
00:35:43everyone else
00:35:44in town
00:35:44by this time.
00:35:46Ruth,
00:35:47of course,
00:35:47is like a
00:35:48tornado in a
00:35:49teacup.
00:35:51Nothing
00:35:52has changed.
00:35:53now that
00:35:55the only man
00:35:57with the
00:35:58proper
00:35:58credentials
00:35:59to upstage
00:36:00Boaz
00:36:01had reached
00:36:03an accommodation
00:36:03with him,
00:36:05it was
00:36:06time to
00:36:07take care
00:36:07of some
00:36:08business
00:36:08and to
00:36:09formalize
00:36:10the previous
00:36:10evening's
00:36:11nuptials.
00:36:13And not
00:36:14taking any
00:36:14chances with
00:36:15a young
00:36:16stud rising
00:36:17to challenge,
00:36:18Boaz showed
00:36:19some
00:36:20chalk
00:36:20moth,
00:36:21and he
00:36:21pressed his
00:36:22case with
00:36:23the old
00:36:23codgers.
00:36:25Reason dictated
00:36:26that Ruth
00:36:26was way too
00:36:27much woman
00:36:28for a seasoned
00:36:29citizen.
00:36:30She was
00:36:31likely 25,
00:36:33maybe 30
00:36:34at the most,
00:36:34and they
00:36:35were in
00:36:35their 50s
00:36:36and 60s.
00:36:38So he
00:36:40grabbed hold
00:36:40of and
00:36:41obtained
00:36:4210 men,
00:36:43of the elders
00:36:44who were
00:36:45advanced in
00:36:46age of the
00:36:47city,
00:36:47and he
00:36:47said,
00:36:48sit down
00:36:49here.
00:36:50So they
00:36:51sat.
00:36:52Just so
00:36:53that we're
00:36:54not fooling
00:36:54anyone,
00:36:55Naomi returned
00:36:57running on
00:36:57fumes.
00:36:58She was a
00:36:59childless
00:37:00widow who
00:37:01had come
00:37:02back empty
00:37:02handed based
00:37:04upon her
00:37:04own testimony,
00:37:05and she
00:37:07and her
00:37:07husband had
00:37:08left home
00:37:09for a
00:37:09reason,
00:37:10and being
00:37:10land barons
00:37:11would not
00:37:12have been
00:37:12among them.
00:37:13So this
00:37:14was mostly
00:37:15for show.
00:37:16Moreover,
00:37:17these two
00:37:18men had
00:37:18already
00:37:19come to
00:37:20an
00:37:20arrangement.
00:37:21He said
00:37:22to the
00:37:23one with
00:37:24the
00:37:24wherewithal
00:37:24to pay
00:37:25the price
00:37:25to redeem,
00:37:27a parcel
00:37:27of open
00:37:28acreage
00:37:29that belonged
00:37:29to our
00:37:30brother is
00:37:31being sold
00:37:32by Naomi,
00:37:34my favored
00:37:34one,
00:37:35who returned
00:37:36from the
00:37:36open fields
00:37:37of Moab,
00:37:39of questionable
00:37:40parenthood.
00:37:41So Boaz
00:37:43here is
00:37:45exposing himself
00:37:46again as
00:37:47the naked
00:37:48nabby.
00:37:48Since I
00:37:49am fully
00:37:50exposed,
00:37:51indeed naked,
00:37:52I will
00:37:53reveal myself
00:37:54by declaring,
00:37:56claiming,
00:37:57in your
00:37:58hearing,
00:37:59choose to
00:38:00buy in
00:38:01and bring
00:38:02this child
00:38:03forth to
00:38:04redeem,
00:38:05before the
00:38:06counterpart,
00:38:07who is living
00:38:08and established
00:38:10and reporting
00:38:11this to
00:38:12the elders
00:38:12who are
00:38:13the most
00:38:14mature of
00:38:15my people.
00:38:17Now,
00:38:18the purpose
00:38:19of the
00:38:19previous
00:38:20chapter's
00:38:21naked
00:38:21scene
00:38:22has been
00:38:23fully exposed.
00:38:24There was
00:38:25no longer
00:38:25any concealing
00:38:26what Boaz
00:38:27and Ruth
00:38:28represent
00:38:28to God
00:38:29and to
00:38:30Israel.
00:38:30They would
00:38:31deliver
00:38:31note,
00:38:32and they
00:38:32would do
00:38:33so on
00:38:34multiple
00:38:35occasions,
00:38:36indirectly
00:38:36saving the
00:38:37world.
00:38:37and he
00:38:38would,
00:38:39with her
00:38:39support,
00:38:40serve as
00:38:42the
00:38:42sacrifice
00:38:43in the
00:38:44end.
00:38:45And as
00:38:46a result,
00:38:47this
00:38:47narrative
00:38:48is both
00:38:50profound
00:38:50and it's
00:38:51prophetic.
00:38:52The entire
00:38:52book is
00:38:53prophetic.
00:38:55Hannah
00:38:57addresses
00:38:58much of
00:38:58why this
00:38:59is so.
00:39:01Boaz
00:39:02was telling
00:39:02Israel to
00:39:03buy into
00:39:04the prospect
00:39:04of bringing
00:39:06this child
00:39:06forth.
00:39:07because she
00:39:09would actually
00:39:10be the
00:39:10one who
00:39:10would redeem
00:39:11them.
00:39:12It is
00:39:13something all
00:39:14should want
00:39:14to occur.
00:39:15Even more
00:39:16revealing,
00:39:17Hannah
00:39:17addresses the
00:39:19child who
00:39:20is born
00:39:21and the
00:39:22son who
00:39:22is given
00:39:23to restore
00:39:24the
00:39:25fractured
00:39:25family.
00:39:26As all
00:39:27that is
00:39:28reflected in
00:39:29Isaiah 9,
00:39:31the
00:39:32Hannah is
00:39:33even the
00:39:33branch in
00:39:34the stem.
00:39:34of course
00:39:36reminiscent
00:39:37of both
00:39:39the king
00:39:40and his
00:39:41children.
00:39:43As the
00:39:44Gadol and
00:39:45Catan
00:39:46Maorath,
00:39:47they are
00:39:47Neged
00:39:48counterparts,
00:39:49corresponding to
00:39:51one another,
00:39:51especially in
00:39:52the role of
00:39:53Gaal,
00:39:54of which they
00:39:55both serve.
00:39:56serve.
00:39:57They are
00:39:58unique in
00:39:59being the
00:39:59two men
00:40:00who make
00:40:00the sacrifices
00:40:01to fulfill
00:40:03the moedim,
00:40:04the doth as
00:40:05the lamb
00:40:06and yada
00:40:07as the
00:40:08aforementioned
00:40:08bull.
00:40:09the price,
00:40:11of course,
00:40:11would be
00:40:12excruciatingly
00:40:13high,
00:40:13but they
00:40:14would pay
00:40:15it
00:40:15willingly,
00:40:17and that
00:40:18is why
00:40:18they are
00:40:19the subject
00:40:19of the
00:40:20Torah's
00:40:20initial
00:40:20prophecy,
00:40:22one
00:40:23emblazoned
00:40:24on the
00:40:24very cover
00:40:25of the
00:40:26book that
00:40:26we are
00:40:26covering
00:40:27in this
00:40:27program.
00:40:29The most
00:40:30confident
00:40:31and courageous
00:40:31man ever
00:40:32deployed by
00:40:33God
00:40:35was holding
00:40:36open
00:40:37auditions,
00:40:39I like
00:40:40this idea
00:40:41because I've
00:40:42always said
00:40:42if somebody
00:40:43wants to
00:40:43step up,
00:40:44you think
00:40:44that you're
00:40:45man enough
00:40:45to do
00:40:46this job.
00:40:47You're
00:40:47in a
00:40:48position
00:40:48where you
00:40:49can go
00:40:50back in
00:40:50time and
00:40:51devote
00:40:5125 years,
00:40:5412,
00:40:5514 hours
00:40:56a day,
00:40:57seven days
00:40:57a week,
00:40:59studying
00:40:59Yahweh's
00:41:00testimony
00:41:00from the
00:41:01oldest
00:41:01extant
00:41:02sources,
00:41:03creating
00:41:04a new
00:41:04amplified
00:41:05translation
00:41:06format.
00:41:08And then
00:41:09writing
00:41:0940 books,
00:41:1130,000
00:41:11pages,
00:41:13deducing
00:41:14insights
00:41:14from those
00:41:15translations,
00:41:17along with
00:41:18many thousands
00:41:19of radio
00:41:20and vlogs,
00:41:22radio programs
00:41:23and vlogs.
00:41:24And then you
00:41:26can serve
00:41:27alongside the
00:41:29Passover lamb
00:41:30and perform
00:41:32as the
00:41:33anima
00:41:33para,
00:41:35that you
00:41:37can expose
00:41:37yourself to
00:41:38the religious
00:41:39and the
00:41:40political
00:41:40that will
00:41:41hate every
00:41:41word you
00:41:42have to
00:41:42say.
00:41:43Step right
00:41:44up.
00:41:48So,
00:41:48Boaz
00:41:49said,
00:41:51if you
00:41:51can accept
00:41:52the cost
00:41:54to deliver
00:41:55and redeem
00:41:57Baal,
00:41:59choose to
00:42:00pay this
00:42:00price,
00:42:01deliver
00:42:02the goods
00:42:03and act
00:42:04like a
00:42:05redeemer,
00:42:06you can
00:42:07be a
00:42:07savior,
00:42:08you know.
00:42:09But if
00:42:10not,
00:42:12you clearly
00:42:13cannot
00:42:14endure the
00:42:15sacrifice to
00:42:16fulfill the
00:42:17role of
00:42:17liberator
00:42:18and savior,
00:42:20I want you
00:42:22of your own
00:42:22accord to
00:42:23emphatically
00:42:23report this
00:42:24before me.
00:42:26Own it.
00:42:28Hiffle,
00:42:28imperative,
00:42:29cohortative,
00:42:30paragoga,
00:42:31K.
00:42:31Oh,
00:42:32my.
00:42:33Once again,
00:42:34the full
00:42:35McGillicuddy of
00:42:37Hebrew grammar.
00:42:42If you think
00:42:42you can,
00:42:44and I think
00:42:45you can't,
00:42:47then man up.
00:42:48And if you
00:42:49can't man up,
00:42:50forever hold
00:42:50your peace,
00:42:51and at least
00:42:52admit openly
00:42:54that you
00:42:54don't have it.
00:42:58because I
00:42:59do and
00:43:00will.
00:43:02That was
00:43:03the message.
00:43:04It says,
00:43:05I know who
00:43:05you are.
00:43:06You know
00:43:06who I am.
00:43:08So let's
00:43:09cut to the
00:43:09chase,
00:43:10shall we?
00:43:13He said,
00:43:14I want
00:43:15to know,
00:43:16to be
00:43:17assured,
00:43:18and to be
00:43:20respected.
00:43:20wa yada.
00:43:23That indeed,
00:43:25putting you
00:43:27aside,
00:43:28no one is
00:43:29able or
00:43:30willing to
00:43:31pay the price
00:43:32to act
00:43:33as a
00:43:34ga'al,
00:43:35a redeemer.
00:43:39And I
00:43:40am now,
00:43:41and at a
00:43:42later time
00:43:43in the
00:43:43end,
00:43:43thereby,
00:43:46will be
00:43:47different than
00:43:48you.
00:43:49I am
00:43:49willing to
00:43:50pay that
00:43:51price,
00:43:51not only
00:43:52now,
00:43:53but also
00:43:53at a later
00:43:54time in
00:43:54the end,
00:43:55because I'm
00:43:56different
00:43:57than you.
00:43:59And he
00:44:00proclaimed,
00:44:01I am
00:44:02the
00:44:03ga'al.
00:44:06I'm the
00:44:06redeemer.
00:44:08I'm the
00:44:09one whose
00:44:10sacrifice will
00:44:11liberate and
00:44:12restore.
00:44:18Yahshia would
00:44:19pick right up
00:44:19on this.
00:44:20He would
00:44:21say,
00:44:21yes,
00:44:21there are
00:44:21two.
00:44:22You will
00:44:23deliver the
00:44:23redeemer,
00:44:24and you
00:44:25are the
00:44:25redeemer.
00:44:28It's the
00:44:29story of
00:44:29Boaz.
00:44:30It's the
00:44:30story of
00:44:32the man
00:44:33from Edom.
00:44:34It's the
00:44:34story of
00:44:35the
00:44:35Zaroah.
00:44:36It's the
00:44:37story of
00:44:38the
00:44:38Neckar.
00:44:39He
00:44:40proclaimed,
00:44:41I am
00:44:43the ga'al,
00:44:44the redeemer,
00:44:45the one
00:44:45whose
00:44:45sacrifice will
00:44:46liberate and
00:44:48restore.
00:44:49Not bragging.
00:44:51He is
00:44:52affirming one
00:44:54of the most
00:44:54profound
00:44:55prophecies
00:44:58and vital
00:45:00statements ever
00:45:00made.
00:45:03if people
00:45:04don't own
00:45:04who they
00:45:05are,
00:45:07then no
00:45:08one will
00:45:08ever
00:45:09recognize
00:45:09them when
00:45:10they do
00:45:10what they
00:45:11have said
00:45:12they would
00:45:13achieve.
00:45:15That is
00:45:16why as
00:45:17difficult as
00:45:19it is
00:45:20to acknowledge
00:45:21all of
00:45:22these prophecies
00:45:23regarding the
00:45:23ga'al,
00:45:24regarding Boaz,
00:45:26regarding the
00:45:26Neckar,
00:45:28the redeemer,
00:45:31that to not
00:45:33acknowledge them
00:45:34is to render
00:45:36them moot.
00:45:40well this is
00:45:41one of the
00:45:42most extraordinary
00:45:43statements of
00:45:43course found
00:45:44anywhere in the
00:45:45Torah and
00:45:45Prophets.
00:45:46Should there
00:45:47be a
00:45:47Israelite
00:45:48willing to
00:45:48do what
00:45:49must be
00:45:49done to
00:45:50reconcile the
00:45:51people and
00:45:52their God,
00:45:53Boaz would
00:45:54step aside.
00:45:55He'd
00:45:58applaud the
00:45:59sacrifice of
00:46:00another.
00:46:01But of
00:46:02course there
00:46:02were none.
00:46:04Even at
00:46:05this early
00:46:06stage,
00:46:07now settled
00:46:07in the
00:46:08promised
00:46:08land.
00:46:10No one
00:46:10was listening
00:46:11to Yahweh.
00:46:13There were
00:46:13no doers,
00:46:15just talkers.
00:46:17Israelites
00:46:18would muster
00:46:19the art of
00:46:20talking over
00:46:21and around
00:46:22God,
00:46:23but they
00:46:24remained
00:46:25inept when
00:46:26called to
00:46:27do something
00:46:27with God.
00:46:33The reason
00:46:34Boaz and
00:46:36Ruth reestablished
00:46:37Doed in
00:46:38the role of
00:46:38redeemer was
00:46:40because there
00:46:41were no
00:46:42other viable
00:46:44options.
00:46:45Similarly,
00:46:46Yahweh did
00:46:46not ask me to
00:46:48submit to a
00:46:48violent death
00:46:49on Teruah.
00:46:51He simply
00:46:52expected it
00:46:54because there
00:46:56is no
00:46:56alternative.
00:46:58It has
00:46:59always been
00:47:00the
00:47:00nakar
00:47:01are no
00:47:02one.
00:47:03The
00:47:03choder
00:47:04are no
00:47:05alternative.
00:47:07As we
00:47:08witnessed the
00:47:09World Cup,
00:47:11Israel is
00:47:12no longer in
00:47:12the stands
00:47:13as a
00:47:14spectator,
00:47:14much less
00:47:15in the game
00:47:16as a
00:47:17player.
00:47:19So Boaz
00:47:20wanted everyone
00:47:21to know
00:47:21that serving
00:47:23as a
00:47:23ga'al
00:47:24comes at
00:47:25a cost.
00:47:28One so
00:47:29high,
00:47:29only two
00:47:30men
00:47:31have been
00:47:32willing to
00:47:33pay it.
00:47:34And of
00:47:35course,
00:47:35he was one
00:47:36of them.
00:47:37So he was
00:47:38challenging the
00:47:38elders and the
00:47:39sages,
00:47:40really all of
00:47:40Israel,
00:47:41then and
00:47:42now and
00:47:43in between,
00:47:45telling them
00:47:46since they
00:47:47couldn't put
00:47:48up,
00:47:49that they
00:47:50should shut
00:47:50up.
00:47:51the advice
00:47:52that the
00:47:53religious
00:47:53and the
00:47:54rabbis
00:47:55should
00:47:56adhere to.
00:47:59The message
00:48:00was one
00:48:01the big
00:48:01talkers don't
00:48:02want to
00:48:02hear.
00:48:03Deliver the
00:48:04goods and
00:48:05act the
00:48:05part,
00:48:06or sit
00:48:07down and
00:48:07forever hold
00:48:08your peace.
00:48:10All the
00:48:11while having
00:48:12read about
00:48:13the Israelites
00:48:14during the
00:48:15exodus,
00:48:16having seen
00:48:17what happened
00:48:19and
00:48:21the
00:48:22rape,
00:48:24murder,
00:48:24dismemberment
00:48:25of the
00:48:27young lady
00:48:29was the
00:48:30last chapter
00:48:31of judges
00:48:32before this
00:48:33event occurred.
00:48:36Boaz
00:48:37realized that
00:48:37his kin
00:48:38were grumblers.
00:48:40They're not
00:48:41gamers.
00:48:42And knowing
00:48:43their innate
00:48:44propensity to
00:48:45complain about
00:48:46every move
00:48:47and not
00:48:48wanting to be
00:48:49second-guessed
00:48:49later,
00:48:51he put them
00:48:52to the
00:48:52test.
00:48:53And sure
00:48:54enough,
00:48:55true to
00:48:56their nature,
00:48:57their surrender
00:48:58wouldn't be
00:48:59in silence,
00:49:01sadly.
00:49:04We have
00:49:05witnessed
00:49:05Yada
00:49:06interjected
00:49:07throughout this
00:49:08narrative.
00:49:09This is to
00:49:09remind us that
00:49:10Yada and
00:49:11Boaz share
00:49:12a story
00:49:13and a
00:49:13soul.
00:49:14In each
00:49:15subsequent
00:49:15deployment,
00:49:16they would
00:49:17be the
00:49:18most knowledgeable
00:49:19of men
00:49:19and the
00:49:20most familiar
00:49:21with God.
00:49:22And they
00:49:22were inserted
00:49:23to rectify
00:49:24the opposing
00:49:25condition
00:49:26to fix it,
00:49:28which is
00:49:29ignorance,
00:49:30irrationality,
00:49:31especially
00:49:32toward Jawa.
00:49:35Boaz Yada
00:49:36realized that
00:49:38he had
00:49:38no competition
00:49:39or rival
00:49:40because other
00:49:41than Dodd,
00:49:42there were
00:49:43no all
00:49:43redeemers to
00:49:44be found
00:49:45among
00:49:45Israelites
00:49:46or among
00:49:47Yehudim.
00:49:49This is
00:49:50why restoring
00:49:51Dodd's
00:49:52character
00:49:52and supporting
00:49:53him while
00:49:54reconciling his
00:49:55relationship with
00:49:56Yahweh became
00:49:57so essential.
00:49:59And of course,
00:50:00even beyond
00:50:00properly assessing
00:50:02the Israelites,
00:50:05Boaz dropped
00:50:06the bombshell.
00:50:08The reason
00:50:10his name
00:50:11would be
00:50:13emblazoned
00:50:14atop the
00:50:14left
00:50:15pillar
00:50:16of Yahweh's
00:50:18home is
00:50:18because
00:50:19he would
00:50:20serve
00:50:20as the
00:50:21final
00:50:22Ga'al.
00:50:24Boaz
00:50:25is the
00:50:26Catan.
00:50:27He is
00:50:28the Maor.
00:50:29He is
00:50:29the Adama
00:50:30Parah.
00:50:34Kana
00:50:35takes on
00:50:35a special
00:50:36meaning when
00:50:37associated
00:50:37with the
00:50:38redemption
00:50:38of Naomi
00:50:39because she
00:50:40represented
00:50:41Israel,
00:50:42something firmly
00:50:43established
00:50:44in the
00:50:45opening
00:50:46chapter
00:50:46of Ruth
00:50:47and it
00:50:48would
00:50:48occur
00:50:49through
00:50:50Ruth
00:50:51who we
00:50:51now know
00:50:52as the
00:50:52Amma.
00:50:55So Boaz
00:50:56with confidence,
00:50:57courage,
00:50:57and conviction
00:50:59said
00:51:00in the
00:51:01day
00:51:01of
00:51:02acquisition
00:51:02as this
00:51:04child
00:51:05is brought
00:51:05forth
00:51:06to redeem
00:51:07for you
00:51:09the land
00:51:10from the
00:51:11hand of
00:51:11Naomi,
00:51:12my favorite
00:51:12one also,
00:51:14it also
00:51:16includes
00:51:17Ruth,
00:51:19the feminine
00:51:20companion
00:51:21and pleasurable
00:51:22mate,
00:51:22nurturing
00:51:23as the
00:51:24shepherdess.
00:51:25Do you
00:51:25suppose that
00:51:26anywhere in
00:51:26the fine
00:51:26print of
00:51:27that parcel
00:51:28it says
00:51:29this land
00:51:29includes
00:51:30Ruth?
00:51:32I think
00:51:33Boaz is
00:51:33making that
00:51:34up.
00:51:35Do you
00:51:35think
00:51:36Roaz was
00:51:36saying,
00:51:37I'm going
00:51:37to make a
00:51:37transaction
00:51:38here that
00:51:39I know
00:51:40none of
00:51:40you can
00:51:40match
00:51:42and I'm
00:51:43going to
00:51:43pay the
00:51:43price.
00:51:44I need
00:51:45another
00:51:45parcel
00:51:46land here
00:51:46like I
00:51:47need a
00:51:47hole in
00:51:48my head
00:51:48so we're
00:51:49going to
00:51:50make this
00:51:50a package
00:51:50deal,
00:51:51a gift
00:51:51with
00:51:51purchase
00:51:52so to
00:51:52speak.
00:51:54This
00:51:56land
00:51:56includes
00:51:57Ruth.
00:52:01He said
00:52:02the Ruth
00:52:02of Moabee,
00:52:04the one
00:52:05of questionable
00:52:05parenthood,
00:52:06the woman
00:52:08of the
00:52:09dead.
00:52:11I will
00:52:12acquire
00:52:13this
00:52:13child
00:52:15brought
00:52:16forth to
00:52:16restore
00:52:17and redeem
00:52:18for you.
00:52:20Kana,
00:52:21I will
00:52:22conduct
00:52:22this
00:52:23transaction
00:52:24accompanied
00:52:25by the
00:52:26conception
00:52:27of a
00:52:27baby,
00:52:28mourn of
00:52:28passion,
00:52:29who will
00:52:30reconcile
00:52:30and acquire
00:52:31everything
00:52:32as the
00:52:33branch
00:52:34and the
00:52:34stem
00:52:34for you.
00:52:37so as
00:52:38to
00:52:38perpetuate
00:52:39and to
00:52:39establish
00:52:41the name
00:52:42of the
00:52:42dead
00:52:43in
00:52:43this
00:52:43inheritance.
00:52:45Ruth,
00:52:46guiding
00:52:47the flock,
00:52:484-5.
00:52:49Yep,
00:52:50it was a
00:52:50package deal.
00:52:51You can't
00:52:52have one
00:52:53without the
00:52:53other.
00:52:54Ruth
00:52:54comes with
00:52:55Boaz,
00:52:56and without
00:52:57both of
00:52:58them,
00:52:59there is
00:52:59no redemption
00:53:00for the
00:53:00people or
00:53:02for the
00:53:02land of
00:53:03Israel.
00:53:05Ruth
00:53:05was
00:53:06Mrs.
00:53:07Chanuk.
00:53:08She was
00:53:09Mrs.
00:53:10Noak,
00:53:11too.
00:53:11And of
00:53:12course,
00:53:13she was
00:53:13Yokobed,
00:53:14significant
00:53:15and valuable
00:53:16to
00:53:17Yahweh
00:53:17as
00:53:18Moshe's
00:53:19mother.
00:53:20She is
00:53:21the
00:53:23mother of
00:53:23the
00:53:23covenant,
00:53:24the
00:53:25womb of
00:53:25the
00:53:25living,
00:53:26with an
00:53:27inheritance
00:53:27and a
00:53:28reminder
00:53:28that we
00:53:29should never
00:53:30forget the
00:53:30names of
00:53:31the
00:53:31souls
00:53:32like
00:53:33these
00:53:33who have
00:53:34lived in
00:53:34the
00:53:34past.
00:53:36They
00:53:36are
00:53:36bright
00:53:37forth at
00:53:37times such
00:53:38as this
00:53:38to
00:53:39perpetuate
00:53:39and to
00:53:40reestablish
00:53:40that there
00:53:42is life
00:53:43after death
00:53:44for those
00:53:45who are
00:53:45heirs to
00:53:46the
00:53:46covenant.
00:53:49Now,
00:53:50while it's
00:53:50true that
00:53:51Dodd is
00:53:52the ultimate
00:53:52Gaal,
00:53:54he is
00:53:55delivered and
00:53:56his reputation
00:53:56is redeemed
00:53:58by Boaz
00:53:59and Ruth,
00:54:00and they
00:54:01actually do
00:54:01so on
00:54:02five
00:54:02occasions.
00:54:04And without
00:54:04this child
00:54:06of God,
00:54:06Yahweh's
00:54:07Amah,
00:54:08Moaz
00:54:09isn't as
00:54:10forceful or
00:54:11as fortified.
00:54:13He not
00:54:15only ceases
00:54:16to be as
00:54:17productive,
00:54:17the covenant
00:54:18model of
00:54:19father,
00:54:20mother,
00:54:20and son
00:54:21detailed in
00:54:22the Mishal
00:54:23and essential
00:54:23to the
00:54:25fulfillment of
00:54:26the Mohedim
00:54:26is rendered
00:54:28incomplete.
00:54:29In addition,
00:54:32the love
00:54:33and devotion
00:54:34required of
00:54:35God to
00:54:35continually care
00:54:36about his
00:54:37recalcitrant
00:54:38people is
00:54:40no longer
00:54:41reflected and
00:54:43the passion
00:54:43to serve
00:54:44as a
00:54:45Gaal is
00:54:47negated.
00:54:49This story
00:54:51lies at the
00:54:53very heart
00:54:54of Yahweh's
00:54:56story.
00:54:59Boaz
00:55:00would redeem
00:55:01and restore
00:55:02Ruth so
00:55:04that she
00:55:04could do
00:55:05the same
00:55:05for the
00:55:05covenant
00:55:06family.
00:55:07This
00:55:08child
00:55:08brought
00:55:09forth
00:55:09from
00:55:10Moab
00:55:11questionable
00:55:11parentage
00:55:12would
00:55:13reestablish
00:55:14Yahweh
00:55:15as the
00:55:16father of
00:55:17Dehod,
00:55:19of
00:55:19Yisrael
00:55:21and the
00:55:22Barath.
00:55:25So
00:55:25throughout
00:55:26this
00:55:26narrative,
00:55:27Yahweh
00:55:27has been
00:55:27reinforcing
00:55:28reality.
00:55:30Israel's
00:55:30saviors
00:55:31would be
00:55:32Nekar,
00:55:33observant
00:55:34foreigners.
00:55:35And this
00:55:36is because
00:55:37there were
00:55:38insufficient
00:55:40observant
00:55:41locals
00:55:42in Israel.
00:55:48Now the
00:55:49following is
00:55:49an admission
00:55:50that is
00:55:53shared to
00:55:55cauterize
00:55:55the very
00:55:56heart of
00:55:57Israel.
00:55:59So,
00:56:01the man
00:56:02who could
00:56:02have acted
00:56:03as a
00:56:04redeemer,
00:56:04if he
00:56:05had been
00:56:05willing to
00:56:07make the
00:56:07sacrifice,
00:56:09said,
00:56:09I'm unable.
00:56:11I'm
00:56:11completely
00:56:12incapable.
00:56:12and could
00:56:14not dare
00:56:14to be
00:56:15so bold
00:56:18to pass
00:56:20this test
00:56:22and to
00:56:22pay the
00:56:22price to
00:56:24redeem.
00:56:25By
00:56:26myself,
00:56:26lest I
00:56:27ruin,
00:56:28destroy my
00:56:29own
00:56:30inheritance.
00:56:32Ruth 4,
00:56:336 in
00:56:33part.
00:56:34This,
00:56:35of course,
00:56:35is the
00:56:36confession.
00:56:37There had
00:56:38been 200
00:56:38generations of
00:56:40Israelites over
00:56:41the past
00:56:414,000
00:56:42years,
00:56:43and in
00:56:44all of
00:56:44that time,
00:56:45only two
00:56:48would suffer
00:56:49the sacrifice
00:56:50to save
00:56:50the others.
00:56:51And the
00:56:52last of
00:56:54the two
00:56:54would serve
00:56:56as the
00:56:56final
00:56:59remnant
00:56:59savior,
00:57:00one outside
00:57:02of the
00:57:03tarnished
00:57:04naming
00:57:04convention
00:57:05of
00:57:06Israel
00:57:08as he
00:57:09would be
00:57:09the
00:57:09nakar.
00:57:11The
00:57:12pretenders
00:57:12would seek
00:57:13their
00:57:13inheritance
00:57:14and build
00:57:16names for
00:57:16themselves
00:57:17among men
00:57:19and in
00:57:19the Talmud,
00:57:21because in
00:57:22the Torah,
00:57:23men and
00:57:23women of
00:57:24conviction and
00:57:25character are
00:57:25few and
00:57:26far between.
00:57:28So are you
00:57:29listening,
00:57:30Israel?
00:57:31Israel.
00:57:33This was
00:57:34written for
00:57:34you.
00:57:38So when I
00:57:39said that the
00:57:39elders of
00:57:41Israel would
00:57:42surrender,
00:57:43but not with
00:57:45decorum,
00:57:46and that they
00:57:47would not
00:57:47remain silent,
00:57:49this is what I
00:57:50realized was
00:57:51coming.
00:57:54Boaz was
00:57:55blazing and
00:57:56brilliant.
00:57:57He had the
00:57:58audacity to
00:57:59hold up a
00:58:00mirror before
00:58:01the rest of
00:58:01Israel.
00:58:02He revealed
00:58:03that they
00:58:03were a
00:58:04spent
00:58:05candle,
00:58:06snuffed
00:58:06out in a
00:58:07stiff breeze,
00:58:09blowing over
00:58:10the ripening
00:58:11grain all
00:58:12around his
00:58:13fields in
00:58:13Bethlehem.
00:58:16He says,
00:58:17besides,
00:58:18you have
00:58:19decided to
00:58:19be the
00:58:20one who
00:58:20pays the
00:58:21price to
00:58:22redeem by
00:58:23yourself.
00:58:24Accordingly,
00:58:25for you,
00:58:26my rights and
00:58:26responsibilities to
00:58:27acquire the
00:58:29redemption for
00:58:30kin,
00:58:30it's apparent
00:58:31that I am
00:58:31inadequate and
00:58:33incapable,
00:58:34and I'd fail
00:58:35because I don't
00:58:36have what it
00:58:36takes to
00:58:37accomplish this
00:58:38significant
00:58:40event by
00:58:41paying the
00:58:41price or
00:58:42making the
00:58:42sacrifice to
00:58:43redeem.
00:58:45So this
00:58:46was the
00:58:46leader of
00:58:47the elders,
00:58:48and he is
00:58:49wallowing in
00:58:50self-pity.
00:58:52He's
00:58:52saying,
00:58:52okay,
00:58:53big shot.
00:58:54It's
00:58:55true.
00:58:57I don't
00:58:58have what
00:58:58it takes.
00:59:00I'm not
00:59:00willing to
00:59:00pay the
00:59:01price,
00:59:01but you
00:59:02are,
00:59:03and you've
00:59:03already
00:59:04decided that
00:59:04you're going
00:59:04to pay the
00:59:05price by
00:59:05yourself.
00:59:06You don't
00:59:07need any
00:59:07help from
00:59:07the rest
00:59:08of us.
00:59:09You're just
00:59:10here for
00:59:10you to
00:59:10browbeat.
00:59:13Accordingly,
00:59:14as for my
00:59:15rights and
00:59:15responsibilities to
00:59:16acquire the
00:59:17redemption for
00:59:17kin,
00:59:18it's apparent
00:59:18that you
00:59:19think I'm
00:59:20inadequate,
00:59:20I'm
00:59:21incapable,
00:59:22and I
00:59:22fail because
00:59:23I don't
00:59:23have what
00:59:23it takes to
00:59:25accomplish
00:59:25something this
00:59:26significant.
00:59:27Rather than
00:59:28just saying,
00:59:28you're right,
00:59:28I don't,
00:59:29and I'm glad
00:59:30you do.
00:59:32And bless
00:59:33me,
00:59:34Israel and
00:59:34Yahweh for
00:59:35the fact that
00:59:35you do.
00:59:38He says,
00:59:39I'm obviously
00:59:40not up to
00:59:41paying the
00:59:41price to
00:59:43make the
00:59:43sacrifice to
00:59:44redeem.
00:59:45Because being
00:59:45a ga'al is
00:59:47a big
00:59:47damn deal.
00:59:50Well,
00:59:50just because
00:59:51it's true
00:59:53doesn't make
00:59:54it right to
00:59:55say it.
00:59:57Cowardice and
00:59:58self-loathing is
00:59:59never appealing,
01:00:01especially when
01:00:02mixed together
01:00:03with a heavy
01:00:04dose of
01:00:05condescension.
01:00:07And oh,
01:00:08by the way,
01:00:08it's going to
01:00:09get worse.
01:00:10Israel has
01:00:11forfeited its
01:00:12calling.
01:00:12Jews have
01:00:13abandoned their
01:00:14father,
01:00:14erasing his
01:00:15name from
01:00:16their lives,
01:00:17and what's
01:00:17left is an
01:00:18empty shell
01:00:19tossed around
01:00:20by the
01:00:20sea.
01:00:23Fortunately,
01:00:25Yahweh cared
01:00:26enough that he
01:00:26was sufficiently
01:00:27loyal to
01:00:28intervene as
01:00:29required by
01:00:29deploying a
01:00:30man and
01:00:30a woman
01:00:31of courage,
01:00:32character,
01:00:33conviction.
01:00:35And in
01:00:36case you
01:00:36have missed
01:00:37it,
01:00:38that, my
01:00:39friends, is
01:00:40the essential
01:00:41essence of
01:00:43this story.
01:00:45Now, we've
01:00:46gone our
01:00:47full hour
01:00:47today, and
01:00:48we have
01:00:49maybe half
01:00:50of this
01:00:51chapter,
01:00:53of the
01:00:53fourth chapter
01:00:54of Ruth
01:00:56and Boaz
01:00:56left for a
01:00:57final review
01:00:59tomorrow.
01:01:01And that
01:01:01will mean
01:01:02that come
01:01:02Friday, we'll
01:01:04choose a new
01:01:05subject and
01:01:06move on.
01:01:07But I want
01:01:07to leave
01:01:08enough here
01:01:08for us to
01:01:09have a full
01:01:09program tomorrow,
01:01:10so we'll
01:01:10stop at
01:01:12this point.
01:01:13And you're
01:01:14going to hear
01:01:15tomorrow one
01:01:16of the most
01:01:17inappropriate and
01:01:18condescending
01:01:19things that
01:01:20ever came from
01:01:21the lips of
01:01:23Israelites as
01:01:24they demeaned
01:01:25Boaz and
01:01:26Ruth.
01:01:27And then you
01:01:29will witness the
01:01:30consummation of
01:01:31their love and
01:01:33the path to
01:01:35the kinsman
01:01:36redeemer, and
01:01:37how all that
01:01:38plays out
01:01:40prophetically and
01:01:41historically.
01:01:42So I thank you
01:01:43for listening.
01:01:44I look forward
01:01:44to being with
01:01:44you tomorrow.
01:01:45We'll do a
01:01:46vlog on the
01:01:47vlog, followed
01:01:48by the
01:01:49concluding
01:01:51story of
01:01:51Luminaries.
01:01:53Good day.
