The first MC-21-310 built to serial-production standards completed its maiden flight from the airfield of the Irkutsk Aviation Plant in Russia. The milestone marks a new stage in the commercial aircraft program developed by Yakovlev, a company affiliated with United Aircraft Corporation (UAC).
During the evaluation flight, the aircraft remained airborne for 1 hour and 23 minutes. According to information released by Rostec, the jet reached an altitude of 6,000 meters and an indicated airspeed of 600 km/h.
The crew assessed the stability and maneuverability of the MC-21-310 in different flight configurations. The operation of the onboard systems and the performance of the PD-14 turbofan engines, developed by United Engine Corporation (UEC), were also evaluated.
