00:18Fast forward 14 years, it's now investing $10 million for final planning and approvals.
00:23We know the suburbs around Carnap are growing, and they're growing quickly.
00:27As part of our long-term Metronet vision, we have always planned for a train station here at Carnap.
00:34The state government's $156 million project hinges on the Commonwealth covering half the cost.
00:40The Liberals quick to claim victory after pledging to build the station too, if it wins the next state election

00:48They are under pressure, they are on the back foot, they are very worried about holding Secret Harbour, and so
00:54they should be.
00:55We haven't even been elected yet, and we've already forced their hand on a train station at Carnap.
01:00The state government is adamant it was always planning to build the Carnap station,
01:04but have been waiting for surrounding housing development planning to be finalised.
01:09Labor's candidate Georgia Tree was there for the announcement, but not allowed to answer questions from media.

01:37There's not really much parking at either of the stations, you've got to go to Rockingham or to Mandrell for
01:42some parking,
01:43so it definitely makes it a bit easier.
01:44I think anything that builds on the infrastructure for this community is going to be really positive.
01:49The state government says work on the Carnap station is expected to start in 2028.
01:54The Kinsley Towers' carbon-water design is expected to start in 2028.
01:55All the other ones are expected to do in one remaining past four billion in the next five-mile history.
