00:07Collaborative sounds like they do actually work together.
00:10It's kind of like, you know, behind the scenes, Greg Sankian, Tony Petiti, not not talking about the playoff here,
00:16but just those issues that they they want for this protects College Sports Act.
00:21They're working together on. And it's because I think those conferences know that they're drawing in the most revenue,
00:26that they make the most money, that they have the most interest to TV numbers,
00:31and they want to be on the same playing field in terms of how they're handling their business moving forward.
00:37Now, will this thing pass? You'll have to you'll have to save that one for tomorrow.
00:42I have no idea. I can't predict politics and I don't try to.
00:46But I think the fact that those two conferences are working together, maybe that sounds the alarm a little bit

00:51again, I don't know if it'll pass, but we're headed in the right direction where we're doing more
00:56than just talking about it and using phrases like Wild Wild West.
01:00We're actually trying to do some things that will protect, quite literally, the long term future of the sport.

01:12He was trying to describe some of it to me in a Ross Dellinger tweet, and it went right over

01:16Like I was having a hard time keeping up. So I imagine it might be the same for them.
01:19So I just say like eat an elephant one bite at a time. Maybe this next year you start working
01:24on the schedule.
01:25The next year you start working on transfer portal. Like you just do it like one step.
01:29And then sooner, sooner, sooner rather than later, like this sport is going to be somewhat fixed.
01:33You can't just completely fix college football in one particular season.
01:37So I say you just take your time. There's a lot of stuff going on within it.
01:41That's probably why teams are scared because it's a lot of change like right off the bat.
01:44So just take your time. I see possibly a future where you can get this done, but it's going to
01:50take baby steps.
01:51You can't do it all just in one fell swoop.
01:53Well, and some of it's about the money. I know we were going to at least maybe touch on it.
01:57But, you know, yesterday, the big news also was jersey patches and schools coming up with multimillion dollar deals,
02:05whether it was Ohio State with JPMorgan Chase or Notre Dame was so far.
02:09We did a fun article at Sporting News where we gave some other schools some suggestions for who they should
02:14get their patch with.
02:16You know, a couple. The one that I had the most fun with is I did not realize that Texas
02:21and Tito's homemade vodka was a company.
02:26So, I mean, that seems like a natural patch for the Longhorns to put on their jersey.
02:31But there is the old guard that will get upset about that. But the reality about it is, one, it's
02:37just a patch.
02:38And to me, it is just a patch. And if that patch can bring in some some players or something
02:45that helps your school win a national championship,
02:47you're not going to argue about it for very long. You've been in these stadiums, guys, where you see all
02:52the sponsorships.
02:53And part of it is this is a very dated reference, Steele. It might go over your head. I apologize.
02:58But there's that scene in Wayne's World is wearing like Reebok everything.
03:04And he talks about, you know, how it's really sad that athletes only do things to get paid.
03:09But there was some humor there. I'll send it to you on the side.
03:12But I always it always reminds me of that when we go through these things in sports.
