00:00So the storylines that I'm already looking at are New England versus
00:03Philadelphia.
00:04By the way, they have an inter-squad practice this coming month,
00:08and I can't wait to see how that thing's going to shake out.
00:10And you get, as I like to dub them, A.J. Owens.
00:14And you're like, who's A.J. Owens?
00:17Well, that's A.J. Brown.
00:18And I've been calling A.J. Brown A.J. Owens since he landed in Philadelphia.
00:24And when you look at his pre-draft profile, go back and look at it.
00:27A guy has issues on being focused.
00:30A guy sometimes has issues when it comes to character.
00:35Well, I knew who he was.
00:37Philadelphia is just learning now who he is.
00:40And you already hear him complaining up in New England.
00:43But here lies the difference as you see the shots and the subtle shots being
00:48thrown back and forth between the Eagles and the Patriots.
00:53They're not letting this go.
00:55Jalen Hurts, on his introduction press conference for the first time in 2026 as they were getting
01:01ready for camp, said this.
01:04We have 100% alignment, 0% entitlement.
01:11Well, who do you think he's taking a shot at?
01:14He's taking a shot at A.J. Brown.
01:18We don't have players on this team that feel entitled.
01:22We are now all in alignment.
01:24That shows you some of the distraction that was on that Philadelphia Eagle team a year ago.
01:29And we'll also say this.
01:30That's the responsibility of both the quarterback and the head football coach to right the ship
01:36when you have an issue like that.
01:38Now you fast forward that up to New England, what does A.J. Brown say?
01:43He was getting hammered on by Mike Vrabel, his new head coach.
01:47It actually was his coach when he was in Tennessee.
01:50And what does A.J. Brown say?
01:52A.J. Brown goes, I know when Mike's on me, it's coming from a place of love.
01:59I've never heard him talk about Nick Sirianni in any fashion like that in his four years
02:05in Philadelphia.
02:06Let's not forget something, too.
02:08You're never going to make that player happy.
02:11Put this in context.
02:12Four years, 50 and 18.
02:14Two NFC championships.
02:16He got a $32 million annual deal.
02:18He's got a Super Bowl ring.
02:20He's got some of the most yards in the history of the Philadelphia Eagles over a five-year span.
02:26And he wasn't happy.
02:29Now he's glazing over Drake May.
02:31Guy's unbelievable.
02:33One of the greatest arm talents I've ever seen.
02:36Can't believe how great he is.
02:38He's a special guy.
02:39Never at any time did you hear A.J. Brown talking that highly of Jalen Hurts when he was in
02:47Philadelphia.
02:48You always got the cryptic messages.
02:51The reading of the books on the sidelines.
02:54The not being used.
02:56Being critical when it came to the play caller, Kevin Petullo, of a year ago.
03:01Being particular of the quarterback, not having the skill set that he's talking about now with Drake May.
03:08Always throwing behind.
03:11Here's a direct quote, as I like to call him, A.J. Owens.
03:16They're not really letting him throw the ball right now, so I don't like that.
03:22Here we go.
03:24First practice they had, though, yesterday, they were glazing one another.
03:30First full practice.
03:32All they were doing was talking how highly they're looking at each other.
03:36Look, they're going back and forth.
03:39The impact that A.J. Brown will have on the New England Patriots this year, in my opinion, will be
03:44enormous.
03:45If that guy can stay healthy, who did they have a year ago?
03:49The Boston Strangler?
03:52Stephon Diggs?
03:53That's who you had a year ago as your number one guy?
03:56Well, now you've got a real bona fide number one up there, and you've got A.J. Brown.
04:01A.J. Brown is not quite Owens, okay?
04:04He's more strategic in how he complains.
04:07He's more strategic in how he goes about his business.
04:11He's a very productive football player, and I still think he's one of the top ten players in his respected
04:17position in the National Football League when it comes to playing at wideout.
04:21And I think Drake May is going to benefit mightily from him.
04:25Also, let's not forget something else.
04:28A.J. Brown is now in a position in New England where you've got Josh McDaniels, who's one of the
04:34best play callers in all of the National Football League,
04:36and you've got one of the better signal callers in Drake May.
04:41Like Drake May since he came out of North Carolina a couple years ago, and I think this is going
04:45to be a great year for him.
04:47On the other hand, down in Philly, let's see if Jalen Hurts can win without a loaded team.
04:53It's not the same football team as four years ago when they went to their first Super Bowl in 22.
04:59That's a lesser football team.
05:01Outside of Devontae Smith, it's dudes.
05:05You've got Hollywood Brown, Elijah Moore.
05:08You've got Mekhi Lemon, who's struggling already in camp, and you really don't have explosive players.
05:15I'm going to keep an eye on this all year long.
05:18See if the Patriots can get back to an AFC championship, and if the Eagles can win without A.J.
05:25Brown.
