00:01Hey there. My name is Dave and I've got something to say.
00:04The thing I've got something to say about today is this article I found
00:08looking around on the internet. It's from the Smithsonian Magazine.
00:11The title of the article is, Researchers Accidentally Discover that Humans
00:15Prefer to Turn Counter-Clockwise, but they still have no
00:19idea why. It's interesting. I found this article from other
00:24places. And based on the article and what these scientists have been doing
00:29in real life, most people, if they
00:32believe in their own devices, no guidance or anything, just tell them, hey, just start walking
00:36will all have a tendency to kind of curve to their left.
00:39To go in a counter-clockwise direction. And again, there's a reason.
00:43I'm not sure why we do that. Is it something where
00:47a cultural thing? A bunch of people hang out
00:52with each other and kind of see, hey, everybody's kind of curving the rest, so we just unconsciously
00:56follow them. Apparently, it's kind of universal.
01:00It's, you know, found all over the world. People living
01:02out in the desert, living in the forest, living in the cities.
01:04We all seem to be doing it.
01:06And another theory of why we do it is maybe because
01:08since most people are right-handed, there's a tendency
01:10to favor the right side.
01:12And so maybe the right side is just a little
01:14stronger. And so it's just a natural tendency
01:16to kind of veer to the left
01:18or otherwise moving.
01:19Of course, it might be an
01:22interesting experiment to take some people who are
01:24left-handed and see if they naturally
01:26tend to go, you know, to the
01:28right, you know, the clockwise direction.
01:30But anyway, for me myself,
01:33I don't know
01:34if I do or not. I mean, until I read this article
01:36I never even heard the subject or even thought about.
01:38So it's like, do I tend to
01:40curve the left when I'm otherwise
01:41just moving or the other way? I don't know.
01:44Of course, I have had people accuse me of not knowing
01:46my left from my right.
01:48And so that might explain
01:50some habits I have where
01:52running around in circles, I tend
01:54to run around in figure eights.
01:56Anyway, like I said, my name's Dave
01:58and I've got something to say, and I said it.
02:00Bye!
02:01Okay, now, which way I'm supposed to go?
02:04Here.
02:06Whatever.
02:06Uh-huh.
02:07Um.
02:09I don't know.
