00:00I think a perk of my job is that I get to try new things in beauty, but I never
00:04thought
00:04my feet would be on the internet, so I guess today is their big debut.
00:08I am just really excited to see what the Russian pedicure is like compared to what I've done
00:13previously.
00:14I'm Chloe and I'm trying a Russian pedicure for the first time.
00:17Will it be worth the time, the money, would I recommend it to a friend, would I try it
00:20again?
00:21Let's go find out.
00:32I usually get a gel pedicure, but I've heard that the Russian pedicure is the longest lasting,
00:38and so I'm excited to not have so much maintenance and just be able to go every now and then
00:42when
00:43I'm able to.
00:43I heard that it's waterless, which is really interesting and new for me.
00:47I've never gotten a pedicure without water before.
00:48I work in production, I'm on my feet a lot of the time on set.
00:52Getting pedicures is super important.
00:53I don't always have the time for them, but I try to fit them in my schedule at least once
00:59a month.
00:59The issues I want to address with the pedicure are my dry skin, I always have calluses that
01:05kind of build up from being on my feet a lot, and definitely some work on my cuticles.
01:10Hi, my name is Yana and I'm the manager of Rich Angel Salon in Santa Monica.
01:15Russian pedicure is a dry technique pedicure, dry colors removal, dry cuticle cleaning and
01:23nail plate straightening and under cuticle gel application.
01:27we can remove all of the dead skin, it stays 30 to 45 days, 60 days, depends on the skin.
01:34The best benefit if you are doing dry pedicures and manicures every time, you can keep the
01:41benefits becoming better from time to time.
01:45You have less dead skin, more healthy cuticle, so it's much more benefits than water and manicures.
01:53It stays longer, cleaner, and it looks more beautiful.
01:58For Russian style gel pedicure, we're charging $95.
02:02We're using special equipment for manicures and pedicures.
02:08It's a professional manicures and pedicures machine with so many attachments, each attachment
02:15for a special service.
02:17100% of employees are Slavic women.
02:21They are super professional in the job they do.
02:23For today, our nail technician, her name is Baia, she will provide a Russian pedicure for Chloe.
02:31My name is Baia, I'm nail technician at Rich Angel Salon.
02:36I have been doing nails for 10 years.
02:40Hi Chloe, my name is Yana.
02:41Have you tried Russian pedicure before?
02:43No, this will be my first Russian pedicure, I've never tried it before.
02:46I feel like I always see a really beautiful light powdery pink color when I see the Russian manicure,
02:52so I think I'm going to do something more on my toes.
02:54I'll take you to the chair and we'll start the procedure.
02:56Okay, perfect.
02:57Follow me, please.
02:58In Rich Angel Salon, we have recliner chair, so we can provide lash lift,
03:04eyebrow services, all at the same time with the manicure and the pedicure.
03:08First, Baia will remove the dead skin for Chloe with abrasive attachment.
03:19Next, she will remove the gel polish she has now.
03:26We'll clean her cuticle really detailed with the machine.
03:34After that, we'll apply a gel polish color and straighten it as well.
03:45After we apply the gel, we'll put the toe to the UV lamp.
03:54Now, we are applying a moisturizer.
03:58Here is a hot towel to finish our pedicure today.
04:05After my first Russian pedicure, I'm feeling great.
04:08It was definitely a different experience than I'm used to without the water.
04:13I definitely didn't experience any pain.
04:15I feel like, if anything, it was less sensitive than a normal pedicure.
04:18I don't know if that's something about there being no water, but when they were getting off
04:22my calluses, it wasn't as ticklish.
04:24It wasn't as, like, kind of that flinchy feeling.
04:27It felt a lot more, like, relaxing overall because I wasn't, like, tense.
04:30After getting a Russian pedicure, I don't think I can go back to my typical gel
04:34pedicure again. It's definitely different without the water, and I think the precision
04:40that they're able to do with my cuticles and making the nails really even and that massage
04:45spa element that you got from it was really nice.
04:48I'm going to be going to many events and going to be on set these next couple of weeks wearing
04:53heels, running around, so I'm curious to see a couple weeks from now how my feet are looking.
04:57It's been 10 days since I got the Russian pedicure, and my overall review is that I
05:02definitely like it. I think that the biggest difference between a regular gel pedicure
05:06and the Russian gel pedicure is that my cuticles are very defined, the shape of my nails is super
05:12nice, and the color has lasted, so I would say it's longer lasting than your regular gel pedicure,
05:18and overall, I would definitely recommend.
