00:00Beauty standards pit women against women and that should never, ever, ever be the case.
00:06Hi, my name is Asia Dang. I was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii.
00:10I'm half Chinese, quarter Welsh and quarter Slovenian.
00:13If I could enhance one feature, it'd be my eyelashes because I'm cursed with those Asian eyelashes
00:18and I just want long, luscious, sexy eyelashes that I can just walk out of the house and be like,
00:25hi.
00:25Hi. Nose up, Chinese. Nose down is my white side.
00:31Developing into who I am today, it was actually really difficult for me when I started to grow up
00:38and develop as a woman and unfortunately when that happens, girls start to hate you.
00:44I remember one time my mom actually had to come to my school and just wait outside
00:49and just watch all these girls and she would just be by my side
00:55and just give stink eye to all these girls who were mean to me.
00:59That kind of defined me in the terms where I would never want anyone to feel that badly about themselves,
01:06which is why I try to preach natural beauty and feeling confident in yourselves
01:12because, you know, someone has to be that person for our youth.
01:17Women need to build each other up.
01:20That all comes down to feeling confident in yourself.
01:22There has to be some kind of shift sometime soon hopefully that we can start feeling more comfortable
01:30without the contour and the highlight and the fake eyelashes in my case
01:35to where we can feel just as sexy and just as confident walking out of the house
01:40without any makeup on as we would with tons of makeup on.
