00:01Eleven men were charged in the Sessions Court in Sepang on Friday with being members of an
00:07organized crime syndicate known as the Vinod Gang. No pleas were recorded before Judge
00:13Hasnadzulkifli as the offence falls under the jurisdiction of the High Court. The accused
00:19are alleged to have been members of the syndicate in Bandar Rimbayu, Terluk Panglima Gerang
00:24between April 2024 and June 2026, an offence under Section 130 Subsection 5, Subsection 1
00:35of the Penal Code. Among them is 30-year-old Mohamed Vinod Saktivel, who is believed to be
00:42the gang leader. The court fixed September 14 for case mention. The 11 men were arrested
00:47on June 23 and 24 during Ops Rapido, a joint operation by Bukit Aman CID and the Salang
00:54War CID. Bukit Aman CID Director Datuk M. Kumar said the syndicate had been active since
01:012023 and is believed to have been involved in armed robberies, attempted murder, armed
01:08rioting, causing injury with weapons and committing mischief. He said the gang targeted homes, using
01:15machetes and other sharp weapons to carry out robberies for financial gain, power and influence.
01:21The arrests led to the resolution of 21 criminal cases and effectively crippled an active armed
01:28robbery syndicate operating in Selangor. Police are still hunting five other suspected gang members
