00:57We'll begin with the news, stay with us.
01:18The Government of Venezuela released an updated official report detailing the figures on the
01:22damage, losses and measures taken after the earthquakes that struck on June 24.
01:27According to the official report released on July 21, 2026, the death toll has risen to
01:315,346 while the number of injured remains at 16,740.
01:38Authorities also reported that 6,462 people have been rescued.
01:43The report indicates that 128,324 families have received assistance and 23,122 people are
01:52in temporary camps while 17,265 families have lost their homes.
01:57In addition, 956 buildings have been damaged and 190 have collapsed.
02:02Relief efforts have included the distribution of 10,964,097 tons of food and 29,565,652 liters of water.
02:14But 39,567 people have received medical treatment.
02:19A total of 2,278 international rescue workers are assisting the country alongside 30,989 deployed
02:28personnel and 31,745 volunteers.
02:33Finally, authorities also reported the establishment of 107 temporary camps and the recording of 1,405
02:41aftershocks.
02:50On Tuesday, Venezuela's Acting President Delce Rodriguez led an inspection of land in
02:54La White State to evaluate its potential for new housing projects.
02:58The technical evaluation is part of the government's reconstruction efforts following the twin earthquakes
03:03that struck the country on June 24.
03:05The geological assessment covers 584,000 square meters of land which could be used for the
03:11construction of over 25,000 earthquake-resistant homes.
03:15The project is also expected to include schools, sport facilities, commercial areas and recreational
03:20spaces as part of a broader urban planning initiative.
03:24The evaluation of the flatlands and plateaus in these coastal states will determine the soil's
03:30load-bearing capacity for flexible structural systems and energy dissipation technology.
03:43We have been visiting several sites in La Guayra State where preliminary studies indicate that housing can be built.
03:51And it's not just the sites we have already inspected, we have launched a statewide assessment across La Guayra.
03:57At this moment, technical teams led by Engineer Garceis are evaluating the feasibility of developing new housing projects in those
04:06areas.
04:07At the same time, Paola, Minister, as you continue with that task, the President of the National Assembly, who heads
04:14the Camp and Housing High Command,
04:16is in Xarayabe inspecting residential buildings that are close to completion.
04:22Our goal is to follow a schedule of monthly housing deliveries from now through December so that every family currently
04:30living in temporary camps knows they will receive a permanent home.
04:38As part of the Venezuela Rises Again plan, repair work is underway in homes affected by the June 24 double
04:44earthquakes.
04:45Our colleague Belen de los Santos brings us the following story from La Guayra.
04:52In Mareabajo, La Guayra, reconstruction work began weeks ago.
04:56Located just meters from the sea, these apartment buildings were given a yellow classification following the professional inspection.
05:03They are not structurally compromised but do require repairs.
05:06That is a task that is being carried out by the workers of the plan Venezuela Rises Again.
05:14We have crews ready to rehabilitate 172 homes that are currently being attended to in order to protect the lives
05:22of the Venezuelan people who were affected on June 24 by the double earthquake that struck this area.
05:31Of the more than 9,600 buildings already assessed in La Guayra state, 1,785 have received a yellow classification
05:40as is the case of Marewan Tower.
05:43The specialists came first, the engineers, the structural pathologists, the surveyors who inspected the site.
05:51Well, they are the ones who know, they are the experts.
05:57And they determined that the foundation was affected.
06:01But its performance allowed the structure to be repaired rather than demolished.
06:06The work is being carried out without rest so that residents can resume life home as soon as possible.
06:14My apartment suffered some cracks, mostly around the large window, which was the most affected area.
06:22They have really been working hard.
06:25They are doing a good job, both the engineers, the architects and their entire team.
06:33The team has been here consistently from Monday through Monday.
06:36They have even worked on Sundays.
06:39It seems that starting next week they will begin working at night so they can deliver the tower as quickly
06:44as possible.
06:44During a supervision tour of the work, the president of the Venezuela rises again plan said that the repairs take
06:51into account the characteristic of each structure and its location.
06:54The goal is to urgently address the population's needs.
06:59This is the methodology approved by the specialists for this type of building that received a yellow classification, meaning it
07:08is repairable and habitable.
07:09A total of 11,794 homes are currently under reconstruction nationwide as part of the Venezuela Rises Again plan.

07:27In Venezuela, more than 114 metric tons of food have been distributed in 35 communities across three parishes in La
07:34Guaira,
07:34the state affected by the earthquakes on June 24, ensuring food security amid the current crisis.
07:40In this regard, Food Minister Carlos Real Tellería confirmed the deployment of teams to distribute food supplies to affected families.
07:47Speaking from the R2 rotating reserve of a warehouse located in the Central Coast, Tellería stated that this facility along
07:54with 480 other locations nationwide enables the smooth and timely distribution of food, especially in the hottest heat areas.
08:02He also noted that all this work has been possible thanks to the active participation of the communities and the
08:09people's power in conjunction with state institutions and regional governments with special emphasis on La Guaira as the most affected
08:17area.
08:26On another note, the United States Attorney's Office proposes that the trial against Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and his wife,
08:33First Lady and National Assembly member Celia Flores begin in June 2027.
08:38This proposal was announced hours before a follow-up hearing on the case to discuss the timeline for the trial
08:45against the Venezuelan presidential couple.
08:47The President's defense team will present its initial arguments in September while the prosecution plans to submit most of its
08:55evidence in November.
08:56It should be noted that the district judge in charge of overseeing the case is the one who will ultimately
09:02set the timeline.
09:11In this regard, in the United States on Wednesday, social and political organizations demonstrated in support of a kidnapped Venezuelan
09:18President Nicolás Maduro and his wife, Deputy Celia Flores, outside the New York District Court where the couple stands a
09:26pretrial hearing.
09:27This way, several groups of people gathered in Manhattan in solidarity with the head of state and to demand his
09:33release.
09:34Within signs and Venezuelan flags, the participants sent a message of support in what constitutes another instance in a series

10:35The Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs rejected the report published in July 20 by the U.S. Department of State
10:41regarding Cuba's alleged subversive influence against the United States.
10:45In a statement, the entity said it is hypercritical for the State Department to accuse Cuba of promoting subversive actions
10:52when it's well known that it is the U.S. government
10:55that allocates tens of millions of dollars from its federal budget every year to subvert the internal order in Cuba,
11:04cause hunger and despair and bring about the overthrow of the Cuban government.
11:09This is done by the very same government that has assorted history of interference and violations of international law, that
11:16carries out extrajudicial executions in international waters, engages in political assassination,
11:22and sponsor acts of genocide, attacks sovereign countries on every continent and interferes in the electoral process of sovereign states.
11:30The Ministry added that it is also hypocritical to resist in the lie of labeling Cuba as state sponsor of
11:37terrorism.
11:37It is evident that neither this report nor any other can present evidence or not even the slightest indication to
11:45support such an illegitimate accusation,
11:48as it does not exist as is well known to the specialized agencies of the U.S. government itself.
11:54It is, however, common knowledge that those who finance, organize and invest and instigate violent and terrorist attacks against Cuba
12:01have found protection and total impunity on U.S. soil.
12:04It continues by saying that, in particular, the aims to repress and attack the American people themselves and to intimidate
12:12those who express solidarity,
12:14including those who denounce their government's unjust aggression against Cuba.
12:19It is recognized that opposition to the energy blockade, the strangulation of the Cuban economy and the threat of military
12:26aggression is growing in the United States,
12:28including among Cubans living there and their descendants.
12:31The statement ends by saying, as it has always done, Cuba will continue to foster friendly relations with the American
12:38people and institutions in strict accordance with international law,

18:31The warning comes amid a growing military escalation between the two countries and new threats from the US administration against

18:49The remains of more than 30 children killed by the United States in attack on a school in Minaf, Iran
18:54were identified and buried.
18:56Nearly five months after the tragedy caused by Washington, Iranian authorities found more remains belonging to the 168 fatal victims,
19:06most of whom were children.
19:09Despite excessive searches and special operations, some bodies remain unidentified while others are still missing.
