00:00More than three weeks after the devastating twin earthquakes has struck northern Venezuela,
00:05reconstruction efforts are rapidly picking up momentum in the hottest-hit sectors of
00:08the capital.
00:09For a closer look at these localized recovery operations, we cross over live to our correspondent
00:14Belén de los Santos, standing by the neighborhood of San Bernardino.
00:20Hello studios, how are you?
00:21I'm coming to you from San Bernardino in Caracas, one of the neighborhoods most affected by the
00:28double earthquakes of June 24th.
00:30There were actually buildings that collapsed here in this area of the city and we are right
00:36now at one of the residences here, CorazĂłn de JesĂşs is its name, the Heart of Jesus in
00:43Spanish, where people are living.
00:45One of the affected buildings as well, luckily it was rapidly inspected and classified as a
00:52yellow building in the classification that the inspections teams have set up according
00:57to international norms.
00:58That means that there were many repairs to be undertaken, but the structure of the building
01:05was not compromised, so it was safe to live in.
01:09And this is one of the residences in which the work, the repairment work of the Venezuela
01:16will be born again project, Venezuela Renace in Spanish project is already underway.
01:22Actually, the crews have been working at this residency for over 12 days now and they have built
01:31up the fallen walls, different plumbing exercises as well.
01:36So a lot of work that has to do with repairing everything that needs to be taken care of in
01:43order
01:44for the people who continue to live here to be able to resume after the tragedy that hit Venezuela, something
01:53close to a normal life. We have been talking to some of the neighbors. They were just very happy with
02:00the
02:00rapid response. Of course, they have lived through that traumatic incident that has crossed all of
02:07the people of the Venezuelan society. They also know of neighbors who have been barely severely affected in the area,
02:14in the
02:15neighboring state of La Guayra. And in this case, this is the image of a recovery on reconstruction and it
02:22is one of the
02:23buildings in which they are being working. This government project of Venezuela Renace or Venezuela will be born again in
02:31exercise over three weeks after the earthquake. Some of the buildings are just
02:37about completely repaired right now and that is what we are seeing. We will continue reporting for now. I go
02:43back to you.
